Amberan

Don't ever be the last one to know where a Craftmaster's daughter is.

Igen Weyr Living Cavern(#600RJMQ)
Igen's living cavern is an immense hollow in the volcanic caldera,
stretching up two stories, the light of the glows and the hearth
reflected in the quartz which peppers the swirled sandstone unique to
this region. One hundred feet wide and one hundred and fifty feet long,
the room could, and, as the social center of the weyr, often does, seat
the entire weyr. Tapestries adorn the walls, depicting scenes from Pern's
past. The head table sits upon a raised platform at the far eastern side
of the room, in front of a huge fireplace which is continually burning.
A wide balcony overlooks the cavern, and large tunnels lead west out to
the bowl, and south to the kitchens. A smaller tunnel leads off to the
east, beyond which lay the inner caverns of the Weyr. A small doorway in
the northern wall opens to the infirmary, and a quiet door to the
northeast opens into the Records Room. In the corner one may +view a
plaque.
Tables fill a good portion of the room. One can '+view' them at a glance,
or get '+help places'.

Amberan stomps into the room, looking livid. He raises his voice and
loudly demands of the room, "WHERE is my daughter?"

Jaegon winces, his headache threatening to return. He rises from where
he's sitting. "Master Amberan? Sir?"

Amberan glances around. "Who are you? Have you seen Berylle?"

You say "My name is Jaegon, sir. I know where she is, yes." He crosses
the room to you. "Here's a note from her, sir."
Jaegon holds out a piece of hide to you.

Amberan grabs the note and says, "Where is she?"

You say "She was Searched by D'ton and A'lex of Telgar Weyr last night,
sir. She's at the Weyr."

Amberan blanches for a second, dropping the note, then recovers and grabs
Jaegon by the shirt, "WHAT?!"

You say "I'm sorry, Master. D'ton and A'lex looked for you, but you were
not to be found." His voice gentles. "If you require transport to Telgar,
sir, I'm sure it can be arranged."
Jaegon doesn't try to push you off him, or regain his shirt.

Amberan lets go of your shirt.
Amberan says "Telgar, you say?"
Amberan looks at Jaegon. "Who are you, again?"

Jaegon nods. "Telgar. And my name is Jaegon, sir. I'm a resident of this
Weyr. Can I get you something to drink or something?"

Amberan frowns. "Who allowed her to be searched by these Telgar riders?"
Amberan looks at Jaegon.

You say "She didn't seem to have a guardian of any sort, sir. She
consented to Search of her own will."

Amberan frowns.

Jaegon's tone is courteous, at least. He waits for your next question
respectfully enough.

Amberan turns and looks away, then back to you. "Very well. I shall go to
Telgar when my business here is concluded. You had best hope nothing
happens to her at Telgar, young man."
Amberan turns and stomps off. Stomp stomp stomp.
Amberan walks out to the Bowl.

Jaegon whews softly, then sits down at a table.
Jaegon says softly "I hope she Impresses. Does that count, Master?" He
shakes his head and goes back to his water.
