HOME FIRES MISTS LIFEBLOOD SPOKES
The title speaks for itself. *grin*
Jaegon makes his way in slowly, but without his crutches. Elen is just about to sink into a chair when you both arrive at once. She grins. "Why hello there." Macami waves and notices Jaegon. "Hey, no crutches? Is that okay?" She smiles at Elen. Jaegon nods, letting Cami make her way past him. "It's all right, but it's not up to full strength yet so I still can't work standing up. But I can go up and down to Father's weyr and all, which is good." He sits down carefully and puts his foot up on the bench. Elen looks at jaegon carefully. "Well I have to admit it does look much much better." She now flops in the chair. "Course we will all still fuss, right Macami?" Macami smiles at Jaegon. "If you ever need a lift, please let me know." She sits down, next to Elen. "Yeah, don't we all fuss over our little pet." She grins. Elen giggles. "Well not sure about the pet part..." You say "When did I grow wings or fur?" Jaegon grins at you both. Elen shakes her head as she laughs. "I refuse to answer that on the grounds it may incriminate." Macami just grins, quite smugly at that. "Come here, so that I can run my hand over your fur." She winks. Jaegon just stares at Cami, a slight grin playing over his features. "You're just trying to get my in trouble, aren't you?" Elen looks between the two. "It seems I am always wishing to leave the room when you two are in it." Macami says nothing, then turns to stare at Elen. "Hey, why's that? Don't you enjoy my company any longer?" Elen grins, eyes twinkling. "There are just some thinsg I would rather not observe." You say "We're just teasing each other, Elen. We'll stop if it makes you uncomfy. How's Delren?" Macami chuckles softly. "Just teasing. You are used to Siara, but not to me? Aw." She mock-pouts. Elen rolls her eyes. "Heck, I wqas only teasing you both right back." As Jae asks about her son she smiles widely. "He is fine, far too fine for the nanies I think." You say "Ayla's are worse, I think." Elen smiles. "Del is relaly quiet, just curious,a nd now he can walk!" She lifts up her hands. "He is everwher." You say "Hard to believe he was so little once, isn't it?" Elen nods. "It is, wand well, he is still fairly little, though I think hge is going to be a rather strapping young man at thins rate." Macami stares at Elen curiously. "He can walk? Really? Well, why didn't you bring him? I would love to see the boy." Elen chuckles. "Oh well, he enjoys his days in the nursery you know, witha ll his friends." Macami sighs. "Well, next time bring him, please. I want to study all children we have here, before getting used to the idea I might one day have little ones myself." She grins. Elen blinks. "Oh? You think you and P'ter might well incease our population here?" Macami laughs. "Not any time soon, dear. He is too young to be a father, in my opinion. He turned 18 some days ago, you know. Made me feel old, that's why I thought of it. But first we have to fulfil our duty to our wing, haven't we?" Jaegon just grins. "Well, you know, you'd make a good mother, Cami." Elen nods in agreement to both of you. "You are already doing your duty, and Jae is right, you will be a good Mother." You say "I think Pete maybe could use a bit of fatherhood, too." Macami blushes a bit. "Ah, stop teasing me. But seeing you and Siara has given me some thought about it. Well, who knows. We'll see." She stares at Jaegon. "You think so? Now, he'd be a lovely father." Elen chuckles. "Well you at least want children, I never did, not at all." Macami stares at Elen incredulously. "What? How's that? I mean, I want more than one, I think. My parents always wanted more than one child, and I'm not that different from them." Elen sighs. "It was because I was a nany here, I had seen moer than enough children for my lifetime." Macami ahs and slowly nods. "I see. Well, perhaps you'll change your mind?" Elen grins. "I did already huh? Then again Del is the one and only." Macami shrugs. "Well, your decision. What about you, Jae? How many children do you and Deeva want?" She winks. Elen smiels widely at the mention of Deeva and looks at the young man, Jaegon ker...blinks! "HUH?" he gulps intelligently. Elen looks at him kindly. "Sorry, but well, planning ahead is a good thing you know." Macami grins all over her face. "Elen's right on that. I mean, you should talk about it, shouldn't you?" You say "I...bluh...what do you mean, plan ahead?" Jaegon looks totally flustered for once. Elen smiles slowly and evenly. "Well you know, discuss these things with her properly?" You say "What are you hinting at, Elen?" Elen looks all innocent. "I did not think I ever hinted." You say "Maybe not before now, but you sure seem to be trying to now!" Elen grins. "I thouht I was being quite plain, just stating that you should discuss things liek thsi as early as possible with Deeva." You say "Why with Deeva?" Jaegon is trying to keep his cool. He's not doing so wel, though. Elen tips her head on one side. "I, well, sorry for me to presume, but I thought you really likeed her?" Jaegon starts blushing now. "Well, yeah, but...I'm not sure if she's interested." Elen nods in understanding. "Have you tried asking her?" You say "Are you kidding? She'd die of embarrasment." Elen shrugs. "It all depends on /how/ you asked. Sure you have to make sure you are alone, and the time is right..." Macami smiles wistfully. "Jae, she really seems to like you very much. Ask her." You say "But what do I ask her? 'Morning Deeva, how many littles should we plan on having?' I can't do that!" Elen groans. "No, but you could ask, 'Would you like to share a picnic with me?'" You say "I already do that!" Elen smiles. "Then, when you are there, you say how much youn like her company...how you should o this more often..." Jaegon closes his mouth and listens, face hugely red. Macami takes Jaegon's hand. "Try to spend more time with her, be nice and romantic to her, and when the time is right, give her a kiss, for starters." Jaegon squeezes Cami's hand. "But I..listen, she barely is comfortable calling me Jae, even. How can I do that?" Elen smiles patiently. "You will knwo when thetime is right, and then it will not be a problem." Macami smiles. "Well, if she won't call you Jae, let her call you whatever she likes? I know she feels comfortable around you. That's how Pete and I started off. Take your time." She squeezes his hand again. Jaegon sighs and finally lets loose what he's been thinking. "She's different from anyone else. I mean, I love all of you, and you're all my friends, some here moe than just casual friends. But Deeva is so different! Not more, just..." Elen ndos slowly. "Hey I know, I mean you are looking at two people here with that kind of special person in their lives." Macami chuckles softly. "Ignore me, please. I'm pretty weird. Look at Elen, she's the normal happy one." Elen blinks. "Normal? Happy?" Macami grins. "Not, El?" Elen chuckles. "I am ahppy, though a little worried about this normal label." Jaegon grins, relieved that the focus is shifting from him. Macami snorts. "Well, okay, don't know why I ever said such silly thing. Of course you're not normal." Elen smiles happily. "No one is normal Macami." Macami nods. "Not me, in any case. So, Jae, do you need any help, suggestion, hints? Should I ask Deeva? Carefully, of course." Jaegon hesitates, torn between wanting to know and wanting to keep it his business. "What if she says yes?" Elen laughs. "is that not a good thing?" Macami pats his hand. "Well, I'd say this were fab news, if she said so." You say "Yes but..." Elen loks at Jaegon. "Coem on out with it, you telling me you are nervous about her saying yes? You never lost your heart before dear?" Gordeeva ambles out from the inner caverns. You say "Yes, but Deeva's SPECIAL Elen, and..." Jaegon spots a movement and breaks off. Elen also sees someone, and manages not to grin or giggle, but just gives a polite wave. "Good day there Deeva." Gordeeva steps in with a basket on her arm and smiles. "Good day." Seems she didn't over hear Jaegon, or she would be red in the face. "Hello Elen. How is your little one?" Gordeeva sets down the basket and lays a gentle hand on Jaegon's shoulder. "How is your leg?" she asks softly Elen smiles again. "Delren is just fine, loving being with his freinds I would hope." Jaegon is blushing. Really red. Like Tivu's flame on a good afternoon. Like Kineth's eyes when he hasn't eaten for a week. "Oh, it's fine. I left the crutches upstairs," he barely manages. Macami smiles to Deeva but doesn't say anything, just watching. Gordeeva nods. "I try to peek in on him when I can." she turns to Jaegon at his reply and her smile widens. "Why that is wonderful Jae. Oh...Are you alright?" his facial color seems a bit...rosy. "Do you have a fever?" Elen looks over at Macami, facwe still showing a soft smile, but her eyes glinting like mad in amusement. Blushes a bit herself. "Listen to me treating you like a child...I'm sorry. You look a bit flushed is all." Jaegon nods quickly, then shakes his head just as quickly. "No, no fever. How're you?" Macami puts her hand over her mouth and stares at Elen, twinkling eyes. Gordeeva smiles as she stands. "On my way out to the lake actually...wildflowers are blooming by the far shore." She dares give him a small kiss on the top of his head. "Will I see you later?" Jaegon nods. "Sure you will. Enjoy the flowers." Elen winsk to Macami and mouths a 'we told him so'. Gordeeva smiles and steps out Jaegon stares after Deeva, grinning foolishly. Elen nudges Macami and says in a stage-whisper. "Think we will get another word form him today?" Jaegon's blush slowly fades, but the grin doesn't. Elen chuckles. "Jaegon, you at home over there dear?" Macami sighs and gets up. "Well, I need to be going for a while. Talk to you later." She winks at both of them, then walks out. Macami walks out to the Bowl. Jaegon starts as Cami blocks his field of view, then calls belatedly "Later, Cami!" He looks back to Elen. Elen smiles to Jae. "I think we all worry too much you know." You say "About what?" Elen chuckles. "About what people think of us." You say "Umm..yeah. *sigh* She almost heard me." Elen looks at you kindly. "I have a feeling that i fyou ahd she would indeed have been embaressd, but also rather pleased." You say "She kissed me, Elen." Jaegon sighs and gets that grin again. Uhoh. Besotted. Elen smiles at you in much the same way she would Delren. "I noticed, which I think rather proves my point." Jaegon looks up. "mmm? Which point was that?" Elen laughs. "That she would not have minded if she had heard you." You say "How do you know? She's so shy, she might have..havemelted into the floor or something." Elen chuckles. "She would have been uncomfortable, but in a pleased way, once she had overcome the blushing." (Elen has t leave, and Jae falls asleep in the cavern..) Ayla wanders in, curiosity driving her to find something more interesting here. Jaegon has his foot up in a chair, but no crutches. He's snoozing peacefully. Ayla was going to wonder about that foot of Jaegon's but decides to just peer at it for a while, not bothering to touch it. Consquences y'know. Jaegon's ankle is still wrapped from that stupid sprain. Ayla cants her head left to right, as if enjoying this view of Jaegon's foot. Which she finds strangely amusing, don't ask. Pulling up a chair, she is content to watch this resident in his slumber. Hee. Jaegon says softly "Tickle me and you're a dead woman." He grins slightly, eyes still closed. Ayla wriggles her fingers and doesn't head such petty words. Silently, she pulls out a feather and slides it over Jaegon's chin. Dangerously enough, she seems to live on a thin line. Biting her lower lip, fighting a grin, she lightly twirls it under his nose. Jaegon nips at your fingers. "The woman's gone deef." "Deaf my foot." Ayla murmurs, doing her best not to laugh and pulling her hand back, she returns again, lightly tickling. Jaegon grabs your wrist and hangs on, quite strong. Ayla blinks but grins as her wrist is captured. Just one wrist! Swiftly she retalaites (sp) with her free hand and tickles, furiously and fast. Jaegon grabs the other wrist, finally opening his eyes. "Wrong spot. I'm not ticklish there!" Ayla blinks again and brows arched slightly, as a smile twitches up on her lips. Jaegon grins up at you innocently, still tightly clasping your wrists. Ayla's lips twitches a bit as she gives an experimental tug and much to her dismay your grip -is- strong. You say "You're not getting away that easily." Ayla's eyes widen a bit as she tugs a bit more, knowing well she won't get away from you this easily. Jaegon grins again. "See, what'd you have to go and try that for. Now you're stuck!" "I live for danger." Ayla replies, a glint shining in her eyes as she looks back to you, "Ever since I first came to a Weyr!" Siara comes in from the Bowl. Jaegon shakes his head. "Silly, silly. How do you think I'm going to let your arms free if you're going to tickle me?" Siara saunters in and waves languidly. Ayla can't wave right now, her hands are occupied. Glancing to Jaegon, she nudges him. Jaegon grins at Sia. "Heya!" he calls, not letting go of Ayla's wrists for a second. Ayla grins rather wickedly at Jaegon. "I'd tickle if I could!" Siara looks from Ayla to Jaegon and grins. "I can give you a ride up to Hollerith's Weyr. It looks like you need a room." You say "No way. I'm just trying to keep her from tickling me. Forget the room." Siara goes over and kisses the top of Jaegon's head, "I know. I'm teasing." She looks at Ayla thoughtfully and then pounces her and tickles. Ayla SQUEAKS! Jaegon yelps and hangs on to Ayla's wrists as she twists. Ayla winces as her wrists are twisted along with her. "Hey, stop that! I won't have use of my wrists if you keep tickling, Si!" Siara laughs and tickles Ayla's belly, "Gonna stop tickling Jaegon?" "Not on your life! I rather not bake!" Ayla retorts defiantly, giggling. Siara shrugs, grinning. "Guess I can't stop then." Jaegon sighs mock-regretfully. "You heard her, Sialove." Ayla squeaks and squirms, fighting the urge to laugh with all her will. And it fades slowly. Siara nods, feigning regret herself and switches her tickling to Ayla's neck, giggling. Ayla squirms s'more, twisting and turning. Jaegon overbalances as he hangs on, starts to fall, windmils his hands as he lets go, and falls to the floor with a thud. "Ow." Ayla winces and falls down with Jaegon but to his side. Siara gasps and lets go of Ayla. "Are you okay? Is your ankle okay?" Ayla peers at Jaegon's ankle, hmming for minute. Jaegon lays back on the floor and stares at the ceiling. "You know, I need to get up there with a scrub brush from when that chimney was blocked that time?" he comments. Siara nods to Jaegon, "It's very distracting," she agrees about the ceiling, without looking up, as she knows what it looks like. She tries rubbing his ankle. Ayla raises her brow and nudges Jaegon, surprised his hands are still on her wrists. Muttering under her breath, she turns to peers at his ankel. Jaegon's ankle is still wrapped. He sits up. "I'm fine, Sia, just clumsy. I didn't hit my ankle when I fell." Ayla rubs some circulation back into her wrists, wincing. Siara nods, giving the bandage another pat. "Well. Okay. Maybe the healer should look at it again." Ayla encircles Jaegon's waist, pulling him up. "C'mon... let's get you back up, slowly..." Jaegon shakes his head. "I'm off crutches, just having to be caurefl is all. Nothing's hurt but my pride." He grins at both of you as he gets back into his seat. Siara nods, reassured and sits down herself. She turns to Ayla, "I have to ask you something." Ayla raises her brow slowly. "Yes?" Siara senses "Jaegon takes your hand and gives it a welcoming squeeze." Siara nods, "The healer said it's time for me to start giving Sahra some real food. So I want to know what you have that's good for a baby. She was talking about cereals I think..." she says doubtfully. Siara glances over and smiles contentedly at Jaegon. Ayla hmms, placing a finger upon her lip, thinking to herself. "For a child...ground grain in a soupy mixture sounds about right." Siara makes a face. "I don't know if she'd like that..." "Add a bit of sweet spice into it. That's what I did for my children when they took their first solid meal." Ayla chuckles quietly. "It makes it better to the child's taste buds." Siara nods obediantly, ready to start her child off on a lifelong love of sweets. "Okay. Will you make me some for her for later then?" Jaegon nods. "It's what Delren ate, too, Sialove." Siara shakes her head, "Oh, well, Delren. What would you expect?" Ayla nods to Siara, chuckling Jaegon laughs! "For him to love wine, the way his Da does?" Siara shakes her head, "No, just to be plain and boring, like Elen is, I guess." Ayla raises her brow as she peers from Jaegon to Siara, blinking. Shaking her head, she sits back down, next to Jaegon that is. You say "Elen may be plain and boring, but she's sweet. She's just not as sparkling as you both." Siara nods, "I like Elen," she agrees. "I wish she liked me more, but after all these turns. I guess that's not going to happen," she admits. You say "She likes you fine, Sia. And Cami adores you." Jaegon leans back against Ayla. Why not? Ayla glances up and chuckles quietly before cermoniously placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. With that done, she looks back down to the book in her lap. Siara pulls her legs up and folds them beneath her, and then shrugs. "I don't know. Ask Elen. She never does explain it to me." You say "I think Elen is just interested in D'ew when it comes to cuddling, Sia. That may be the problem." Siara makes a face and shakes her head. "Who could actually want /D'ew/ more than me?" she says disbelievingly. Ayla rolls her eyes, "And who else wouldn't?" You say "Sia, I don't think Elen likes women as bedmates." Siara blinks. "That's weird," she comments. Ayla shrugs, "That's her preference, Si, you can't change it." Gordeeva comes in from the Bowl. Siara considers. "Well, that would explain a lot..." she pauses and waves to Gordeeva, "Guess what?" she calls, grinning. Gordeeva comes in with her basket overflowing with flowers, and a nice light burn on both cheeks. "Hello Siara...What?" she smiles warmly. Ayla flips a page in her book, ponderingly as she nudges Jaegon, "What do you think of this?" Siara smiles, "Sahra sat up by herself today! /And/ we're supposed to start giving her cereal. You know about cereal, right?" she ends anxiously. Jaegon looks up and gets that goofy grin again, then oofs as he's nudged. He glances at the hide. Gordeeva nods. "Oh That's wonderful! she's growning up right as she should. she laughs softly. "Yes...I know about cereal." she smiles at Jae as she sits down, handing him one of the prettier flowers before offering the basket to the others. "Anyone else want some?" Siara looks at the flowers, "They're pretty, but I have too many in the weyr already. Thanks though!" Ayla looks over to Gordeeva, "They smell fragrant... just one, please?" She grins slightly, chuckling at Jaegon's look. Jaegon smiles at Deeva and tucks the flower behind his ear. "I think that'd be good, Ayla, especially with just a hint of klahbark." Ayla nods slowly, considering, "A tart lil treat... I should try it sometimes." Gordeeva starts making small bundles of flowers and tying them with cord. "These should dry nicely." Siara watches, "Where did you find them?" You say "You know, Deeva, you could have the littles help with that." Gordeeva smiles. "The far side of the lakeshore." she looks at Jae and nods. "Some of the older ones yes, that's a good idea." she replies softly Ayla glances to the young woman, chuckling. "I'm sure Veyla'd love to help...!" Gordeeva nods. "She likes flowers. she always finds the little scraggly ones out in the bowl and tries to weave them in her hair. it's a favorite game among the girls, But usually flowers are sorely lacking. You say "And in a few more sevendays, they will be here, too. It's flowering season now." Gordeeva looks at the brimming basket and smiles. "I'll be sure to leave some unbound then." Ayla chuckles again and peers over Jaegon's shoulder consideringly. "I don't think my nose will like too many flowers..." Gordeeva nods and sighs. "I think that is something I do miss...the flowers..Poor things just don't stay in bloom very long here. It's too dry except by the lake." Siara offers, "I could take you to Shipfish or somewhere sometime. There're always flowers there, or Southern. I like going there." Jaegon grins at Siara. "What a great idea!" Gordeeva smiles at Siara. "Oh Would you? I would love to go! Do the flowers survive *between*?" Siara shakes her head, "I never tried. I guess probably not, unless you wrap them up. But at least you could spend a day looking." Ayla suggests lightly, "Wrap em in your coat?" Gordeeva nods. "If I take a wherryhide to wrap them in...they might." her eyes gleam happily with this Idea."When could we go?" she asks and then blushes. "I'm sorry..whenever you have some freetime and would like to will be fine." Siara considers, "Maybe tomorrow. I think I'm free in the morning...hang on..." she says, looking down as she checks with Ranth. Jhalor comes in from the Bowl. Jhalor pokes his head from the tunnel, peering in slowly. Ayla nods slowly, leaning against Jaegon before blinking a bit and whistling over to Siara. Siara's eyes refocus, "That should be okay," she says to Gordeeva. Jaegon asks casually "Could I go along?" Gordeeva smiles and continues tying the bundles, looking rather pleased with the thought of going to the island. Having never been there, she asks Jaegon. "What is it like on shipfish?" Gordeeva looks up and nods to Jhalor politely. "Goodday." she says shyly, wanting to be mannerly "G'day ma'am.." Jhalor replies. Siara nods to Jaegon, "Sure. Why not? It'd be fun..." she looks up as Gordeeva greets someone and then jumps up to fling herself at Jhalor. "Jhalor!" Jhalor manages a breathless "OOF" as Siara sends herself hurtling at him. "Nice to see you to, Si." He croaks. Ayla covers her mouth, fighting the giggles. Siara grins and hugs her cousin. "I didn't know you were here." Gordeeva smiles to Siara. "Wonderful, she lowers her eyes and smiles at Jae's question. Jaegon grins at Siara's effusive greeting to the trader. "I am.." Jhalor chuckles and clears his throat, "... and here I ... am." Ayla nudges Jaegon again but keeps quiet for once. Siara smiles and leads Jhalor to a seat, "Do you know everyone here?" Gordeeva laughs softly and hands one of her flower bundles to Siara. "To Welcome your cousin." she says with a shy smile. Jaegon hmms to Ayla. Jhalor nods and grins to Jaegon before winking at Ayla, "Yup..." Chuckling softly, he nods to Gordeeva. Siara smiles at Gordeeva, and takes the flowers, offering them to Jhalor. "Thanks!" Ayla mutters to Jaegon, "... remember... but... related to Siara... Jenah." Ayla whispers "I never did remember to mention this but I think I'm related to Siara via Jhalor and his sister Jenah." Gordeeva smiles. "Your welcome." she takes a small knife to cut the tying cord and looks to Ayla. "Have you ever been to Shipfish?" M'verick comes in from the Bowl. Jaegon nods to Ayla. He mutters to Ayla, "... have... similar look to..." Ayla senses "Jaegon nods to Ayla. "You have a similar look to you."" Ayla considers a bit and shakes her head, "Not that I recall." Gordeeva nods and smiles to the greenrider. "Goodday." Ayla raises her brow and nods slowly. Jhalor steps out of the way, nodding politely to the rider. M'verick nods to Gordeeva and everyone else in the room as he comes in from the bowl. "Hello, how's things?" Gordeeva looks back to Ayla and nods. "I suppose I will just be surprised then." she smiles,"I'm fine, thank you for asking. And yourself?" she replies Ayla grins slightly, waving to M'verick, "Heyla, Ric!" She greets the greenrider cheerfully. You sense Gordeeva at different points during her various conversations, keeps sneaking peeks at you. M'verick makes a little so-so motion with his hand. "I'm doing well. Glad to be finish with drill for the day." Jaegon greets M'verick with a smile and a wave. Gordeeva senses "Jaegon is usually watching when you look at him." Gordeeva nods and sets the flowers aside. "I'm sure. If you don't mind me asking. What do you practice in drills?" she blushes, hating to ask ignorant questions, but wanting to learn. Jhalor grins at Siara, "Why they're lovely! Thank you!" Siara waves to M'verick, "HOw's Amylith doing?" Siara mutters to Jhalor, "... you..." Jhalor mutters to Siara, "... few... or... gather." Siara smiles and squeezes Jhalor's hand, She mutters to Jhalor, "Then we can... some... together..." Jaegon leans back against the table and grins. Ayla meeps a bit when Jaegon moves. She nudges him. M'verick grins at the flowers as he answers Siara, "Amylith is doing very well...and you and Ranth?" Noticing Siara has a visitor he turns back to Gordeeva, "oh, we practice different things. Mostly formations, and rope drills. That's when we use painted ropes in place of 'real' thread to make sure we've got our moves right for the real thing." Siara calls to 'Ric, "Ranth is good. We've got late drills. You're lucky to have them out of the way." Gordeeva listens. "And the dragons flame the ropes, and if they are touched by it it counts as a thredscore...yes?" apparently she has been watching some drills M'verick grins at Siara for a moment before turning back to Gordeeva with a nod, "that's right. The more paint you and your lifemate get...the more trouble you get into with the wingleader." Jaegon looks back to Ayla. Ayla mutters to Jaegon, "... move..." Ayla whispers "Don't move so much!" Jaegon grins at Ayla. "Your shoulderblade is sharp!" Gordeeva lays her hands quietly in her lap after brushing a few stray flower petals off her skirts. "I'm sure Amylith rarely gets painted, she is so small and quick. Would you care for some flowers M'verick?" she asks shyly, offering him a small bunch of pretty pale yellow ones. Ayla pokes Jaegon, "I'll show you something even sharper!" She pokes him with her finger. You say "OW!" Gordeeva giggles at Ayla and Jaegons antics, hiding her smile behind the back of her hand. "See?" Ayla fairly smirks, hugging Jaegon gently. Jaegon pulls back. "Don't hug me after you poke me with those talons! Jays." But he's grinning slightly. M'verick starts to say something on the topic of his lifemate but pauses at the offering of flowers, "ah...well, aren't those for someone? Or did you just pick them to brighten the living cavern?" Siara amuses herself by putting flowers into Jhalor's hair. Ayla laughs! and places a gentle kiss in Jaegon's cheeks as if t'say 'sorry' when she cnant' speak.. Gordeeva smiles and laughs softly and motions to the huge basket on the table beside her. "I have plenty...they are for anyone who wants them." M'verick chuckles as he eyes the basket, "well, I don't know what I would do with flowers...but thank you for the offer." Jaegon leans over and leans his head on Deeva's shoulder. "She'll protect me, won't you, Deeva?" He winks to Ric. Ayla snorts at Jaegon, "Fine, be that way." She huffs and pulls back, not the slight bit amused. Looking back down at her hide, she deftly ignores Jaegon. Macami comes in from the Bowl. Macami walks in, absent-minded expression on her face. She weakly waves. M'verick tries his very best not to laugh aloud at Ayla and Jaegon and quickly looks around for something else of intrest. Siara looks up from murmuring to Jhalor and waves to Macami. "Hi!" Macami blushes slightly as she sees Siara, and waves back. Jhalor nods politely to Macami as he smiles quietly. Gordeeva blushes a becoming shade of rose and then laughs softly. "I..I'd do my best Jae..though you should pick a bigger protector." Jaegon mutters to Gordeeva, "... the..." You whisper "But I have the protector I want." to Gordeeva. Macami turns her head and smiles at Jaegon and Gordeeva. Jaegon even earns a wink, before she walks off to pour herself some klah. Jaegon is totally oblivious to Cami's entrance, blinking his big green eyes up at Deeva. You sense Gordeeva looks at Jaegon and then daringly kisses the top of his forehead. "Then I will do better than my best." she says in a near whisper Gordeevadaringly kisses the top of Jaegon's forehead in reply, and whispers something to him. Jaegon gets an unbelievably huge grin as Deeva kisses his forehead and lookstotally silly. Ayla flickers a look over to the entrance, nodding to Macami before glancing back to Jaegon's back, for a split second before shakeing her head and rolling her eyes. Jhalor gently pokes Siara, "You awake?" Siara mutters to Jhalor, "Why so..." Jhalor shrugs gently. "No reason. I'm always quiet...." Siara nods to Jhalor, "How's Solant? And Sabre?" Macami stands at the meal table, sipping on some klah and looks over the people in the Living Cavern, seemingly not particularly happy. Siara waves to Macami, "You know my cousin?" Macami stands stiff, stares at the trader, then slowly nods. "I think I met him before, very briefly though." She nods to Siara's cousin with the faintest of smiles. "Both are well and working really hard." Jhalor grins, slightly. Siara nods and tries to remember, "You've left Benden by now, right?" Gordeeva smiles to Macami and motions her over. "Will you join us Macami?" Jhalor nods, grinning at Siara, 'Back at Bitra again... remember there?" His eyes glint a bit. Siara has the grace to look slightly ashamed. "Uh huh." Jhalor pats Siara's shoulder gently. Macami flashes Gordeeva a smile. "Of course, when someone asks so nicely." She walks over to sit with her. Siara smiles at Jhalor, "I didn't know then that you were just jealous!" Jaegon lifts his head from Deeva's shoulder and gives Cami the kind of smile she gets when P'ter walks in. "Heya! How did sweeps go?" Siara calls to Macami, "Say, I'm going to take Gordeeva and Jaegon to shipfish, maybe tomorrow. YOu want to go too?" Macami chuckles softly. "Well, tiring, Jae, and nothing unusual happened, by the first egg." M'verick stands up and takes himself over to the food table and picks out a small bit of goodies before returning to his seat and flopping down to get comfortable. Macami stares at Siara, wide-open eyes. "Shipfish? You want to go to Shipfish?" Now she stares at Jaegon and Gordeeva. "Hm, dunno." She looks down, studying the surface of the table. Ayla looks up again before leaning over and ruffling Jaegon's hair as she stands up and finally heads back into the kitchen. Siara shrugs, "Gordeeva wanted to see some flowers, I thought there would be good..." She looks and smiles widely when she sees FAhloran and makes room next to her for him. A'wyn comes in from the Bowl. Gordeeva smiles and reaches for Macami's hand. "It would be nice if you came. we are going to pick flowers." Laurene ambles out from the inner caverns. Siara waves to A'wyn and Laurene, looking around as the cavern fills up. A'wyn beams and waves to Laurene. "Afternoon Laurie." Macami shakes her head. "I...well, don't remind me of flowers. Why should I ever bother with flowers..." She bites her lower lip. Jaegon says "Please, Camilove?" Laurene smiles and nods a greeting to Siara. "H'lo, Wyn. How go things with you and Asaleth?" Fahloran is still stifling a yawn as he comes in from the bowl. He takes a seat next to Siara after giving anyone who looks his way a wave. Siara looks at Macami oddly, "But you gave me such a nice one." She turns to Fahloran and gives him a quick hug. "Did you have a good nap? And I forget, did you meet my cousin Jhalor before?" Ayla chuckles quietly and watches, "I think Jaegon's getting mighty affectionate with any female he meets..." M'verick looks up just before taking a huge spoonful of mashed tubers and waves slightly to those coming in. Ayla doesn't add, excluding herself. Jhalor nods to Fahloran, grinning and bowing politely. A'wyn pauses before answering Laurie, "I'm getting better. Asaleth is wonderful." Gordeeva gives Macami's hand a squeeze. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say the wrong thing. I would just like for you to come with us. I've never been there...Can you tell me what it is like there?" Macami sighs. "I really don't know. I mean, I will go there another time with you. We could go to the Southern Continent, the area where I grew up for flowers. I just don't feel like it." She doesn't react to Siara's words at all. Fahloran gives Jhalor a wave. "No, I think this is the first time." Jaegon doesn't catch Ayla's words. Maybe just as well, since he's been known to sneak off to the ovens to kiss her in the past. "We could go to Southern too." Laurene grins as she gets a glass of juice and a bowl of greens, "I'm glad to hear that." Her steps turn towards finding a seat, "Care to join me?" Gordeeva missed Fahloran's entrance somehow, as well as several others, she nods in greeting to all of them. "Goodday." A'wyn glances to the juice pitchers and smiles again at Laurene before sitting down with Laurene. "I'd love to." he smiles again, his mug full with redfruit juice. Siara frowns over at Macami and says irritably to the group, "Well, let me know what you decide. Unless you want to get someone else to take you." She turns back to Fahloran and nods. "We're not sure exactly how we're related, but we are." Gordeeva smiles. "I would like that too Macami." she says quietly, giving her hand another supportive squeeze before letting it go." Jaegon leans over to Cami and whispers He mutters to Macami, "Camilove, she's... trying to ignore... promise. Come with..." Macami senses "Jaegon leans over to Cami and whispers "Camilove, she's not trying to ignore you, I promise. Come with us?"" Gordeeva looks up at Siara with surprise and bites her lip, lowering her head and falling silent. Macami nods to Jaegon. She mutters to Jaegon, "... go... just not... And... with Siara. " Gordeeva's hand gets another grateful squeezing. You sense Macami nods to Jaegon. "We can go there, just not tomorrow. And please, not with Siara." Gordeeva's hand gets another grateful squeezing. Laurene calls over to Fahloran, "The healer on duty had me help splint that 'lizard's leg and said it looked like a job well done, but that I should let you know as well, so he could give you a report." Ayla considers and sneaks up on Jaegon, tickling his neck when he's talking with another. She never was one for subbtleness. Laurene leans back in her seat, report given, and grins at Wyn, "You and Asaleth still owe me a trip to the ocean, you know." Siara gets up and goes over to where Jaegon, Macami and Gordeeva sit and says angrily, "If you're going to talk about me, then talk loud enough for me to hear. I don't like you sitting there looking at me and muttering. Especially since I didn't do anything!" Fahloran catches what Laurene says in the din of the living cavern and nods to her. "Okay." A'wyn grins at Laurene and nods. "Aye, that I do." Jaegon sits up, green eyes flashing. "What I said was that you weren't ignoring Cami, Sia, since she was feeling a bit left out. Don't get angry with me for standing up for you, please." Ayla wanders into the Weyr's kitchens. Gordeeva looks up at Siara, and says quietly. "Noone said a word bad against you Siara...Noone would. We are all fond of you." Macami studies the table again and doesn't reply to Siara's words, stubbornly trailing invisible lines on the table. She closes her eyes at Jaegon's words, hissing. Laurene mutters to A'wyn, "... of food,... got... to... But I'd... your voice, so I... get... free from..." Siara shakes her head, "Well I /asked/ her to come with us. And I introduced her to my cousin. " She adds sulkily to Jaegon, "I'm sorry." M'verick whistles quietly to himself and leans over his meal a little more to put more effort into eatting. He's not getting into this conversion, nope. A'wyn smiles and nods, talking softly back to Laurene. A'wyn mutters to Laurene, "... say.... for... short..." Jhalor gently pats his cousin's shoulder lightly. Fahloran is left along by is weyrmate and one of his 'students'. So he moves over to where M'verick is sitting. "How's things?" he asks. Laurene chuckles. She mutters to A'wyn, "... I did tell... didn't I?" You say "It's all right, Sia. Maybe we should go to Southern, and not Shipfish, though?" Siara nods, "Alright. It doesn' matter to me. I just wanted to show Gordeeva some flowers, to thank her, you know, for taking care of Sahra." Macami grabs the table and gets up. "Jae, didn't you hear what I said? Ah, I think I need some fresh air. If you will excuse me..." She quickly walks out. M'verick looks up from eatting and blinks while he wipes some food from his lips. "Oh, doing well I think. How are you doing? I haven't seen you around in some time." Macami walks out to the Bowl. A'wyn beams and nods to Laurene, "You did, you did. Still can't believe it though." he grins at the dragonhealer. Gordeeva begins binding up small bunches of flowers again. "Perhaps it wasn't such a good idea at all." Fahloran glances at the infirmary and then Laurene and finally at Siara before replying, "I've been busy." Siara looks after Macami and just shakes her head, her hands curling into fists, "I never remember. I /never/ remember." she mutters, sitting down in an empty chair again. Laurene laughs, "With Asaleth to help, how could I resist?" She makes short work of the bowl of greens and refills her glass once it's empty. You say "Sia? You might want to go after her." M'verick follows Fah's eyes as they move around the cavern, his eyebrows arching up a little higher, "oh, I see. Well, you seem to be handling it alright hmm?" He chuckles quietly, "how do you like being a father?" A'wyn laughs softly at Laurene, "Of course. He just _can't_ resist him." Siara looks at Jaegon, "Why? I didn't /do/ anything! She always does this to me. Always." Gordeeva stands and steps out into the bowl. You say "Maybe you ought to ask her way." Gordeeva walks out to the Bowl. Jhalor rubs Siara's shoulder gently, soothingly. Fahloran answers, "It is wonderful. Do you have any children yet, 'Ric?" Jaegon sighs as Deeva leaves. "Ah, shardit." He sits back down. Laurene mutters to A'wyn, "Y'know, you... always beating... that... when you were... Weyrling, but... you... have... know you..." Jhalor glances to Jaegon, chuckling. "I think Ayla's a bit ... miffed at you..." Siara shakes her head resolutely. "It's not my fault. If she wants to take Gordeeva and leave me out, fine. I should never try to be nice. I'm not any good at it anyway." M'verick shakes his head slowly, "no, not yet. That is to say, Lal hasn't had our baby yet." His smile is touched with a little sadness. "I'm not sure it will be the same if I don't get to visit much though." You say "Sialove, we were going with you, not her. Remember?" Jaegon nods to Jhalor. "Ayla's always a bit miffed at me." Siara takes a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. "Right." she agrees. Jhalor chuckles. "There's a possibility she likes you.... but I'm not always the better judge of that." Fahloran lightly slaps 'Ric on the shoulder. "Well, you can visit when you want. She can't deny you that. And besides, once the child turns 13, you are responsible for him." You say "Ayla? Likes me? There's a possibility I'm Faranth's golden egg, too, you know. Ayla doesn't like me." A'wyn laughs softly, He mutters to Laurene, "... right.... luck now... that... in... thread.... less red... more white... I... to... better.... getting..." "She won't admit it, the stubborn gal she is.." Jhalor laughs, nodding, "OH she likes you, trust me, I've known her for a LONG time..." Siara looks over at her weyrmate, talking to M'verick. "What good is that? By the time Sahra is 13 turns, she won't need diapers or anything anymore?" M'verick chuckles at the slap, lightening up a little, "thirteen turns is a sharding long time to wait. I don't know...whatever happens will be alright I guess. It's just not what I expected when I found out I was going to be a father. You know...family and all that..." Jaegon just shakes his head at Jhalor. "She's got a funny way of showing it." Jhalor chuckles, "tell me about it! She's a terrible tease to and you probably know she's ticklish." Shrugging, he adds, again, "She likes you, believe she does." Laurene grins at A'wyn, "See. I told you so." That said and the second glass of juice drained, Laurie pulls a face, "I have to get back to the infirmary. I'm on fetch'n'carry." Fahloran grins at his weyrmate. "I didn't mean her, dear." To M'verick he asks, "Are you sure you are the father? I've heard of this Lal, and while I know she's not the friendliest, I am sure some wine could change that." A'wyn smiles, "I'll see you another timet then, Laurie." he grins. "Take care Laurene." You say "I'll think about it Jhalor. Right now, I need a good strong glass of wine, or failing that, some fellis. Maybe when I wake up, this will be sorted out." Jhalor chuckles and nods, "Okay." With that, he glances back to Siara, waving his hand in front of her face. Siara blinks and looks at Jhalor, her eyes having been riveted adoringly on her weyrmate. "What?" Jhalor snickers, quietly and keeps quietly. M'verick blinks at Fahloran, "she's been very friendly to me....up till the point when I had to work extra shifts in sweeps and drills to make a few more marks for the baby...then she thought I was giving up on her and she fell in love with someone else. Since this new lad is a weyrling, I imagine the child has to be mine...since it was a flight an' all." He sighs unhappily, "i really thought it would be different this time..." Jhalor takes one step back and shakes his head, "Nevermind." Fahloran ahs softly and nods. "There *is* someone out there for you, my friend. Just be patient," he advises. Laurene pats Wyn's shoulder and rises, "Thanks for the chat." She nods to several folks, Fah and Siara included. A sympathetic wince is given to M'verick as she makes her way to the infirmary. Siara waves absently to Laurene, "See you later." Laurene enters the Infirmary. Jaegon leans back against the table and rubs his face. M'verick rolls his eyes slightly and chuckles to himself, "I just feel like I've let her down awfully. If I would have been there for her, she wouldn't have found someone else. Or something like that. Jhalor mutters to Jaegon, "... Ayla... a... she's... troubles..." Jhalor whispers "I think Ayla can help you a bit she's one to hear troubles of others." Jaegon mutters to Jhalor, "... remember?" You whisper "She's also miffed at me, remember?" to Jhalor. Gordeeva comes in from the Bowl. Jhalor mutters to Jaegon, "... bet... what..." Jhalor whispers "I bet she's over it now, she doesn't stay miffed long. That's what I like about her." Fahloran shakes his head. He mutters to M'verick, "... said,... Lal. Honestly,... gave up on you... quickly, all... was a sperm..." Gordeeva steps in with a bundle of flowers still in her hand, semi heedless of them dropping to the floor, she sits down in a quiet corner to sort out her thoughts Jaegon is still rubbing his face, so doesn't see Deeva come in. M'verick blushes as he all but gapes at Fahloran, "w-what?" He blinks a time or two and glances around to see if anyoone else might have overheard that, "oh, that couldn't be it..." though his expression falls a touch or two. "Someone would do that?" Siara sits quietly, looking a little sad, and ocassionally studying her weyrmate as he carries on his conversation, ocassionally saying something unimportant to Jhalor. Fahloran nods. "Sadly, it is true. Not that I know of anyone here like that. But there are people." Jhalor nods slowly, catching a bit as he pats her Siara's shoulder gently as he cants his head towards Jaegon, "Consider it..." M'verick looks particularly stricken. "I...never thought of it that way." You say "I'm considering, I'm considering." Gordeeva pulls her basket over to her side, and slowly, methodically, begins binding the flowers for drying once more. Fahloran changes the subject. "You know, you still owe me a ride to The Rusty Hulk. Or one of the other favorite rider haunts." A'wyn sighs, "The Rusty Hulk..." he shakes his head. Jhalor chuckles quietly. M'verick gives himself a shake to ward off the sickening feeling in his stomach at what Fahloran had suggested. "Ah...sure sure Fah. Anytime you want to go out and do something like that. It would be nice to have a relaxing evening away from the weyr." Gordeeva looks up curiously. "What is the Rusted Hulk?" A'wyn says with closed eyes, apparently reminiscing. "It's at the Seacraft.." "It's a tavern I think.." Jhalor replies, musingly. Fahloran hears his name being summoned from the infirmary. "Soon, my friend. Soon." He claps 'Ric on the shoulder as he gets up. He then crosses the room to kiss Siara's ear before rushing off into the infirmary. Gordeeva listens to A'wyn and Jhalor, glad for the distraction from her thoughts Siara grins. "It's a great place, " she adds, smiling at Fahloran before he rushes off to work, reachignto squeeze his hand. Fahloran enters the Infirmary. M'verick smiles after Fahloran, determined not to ponder the bad stuff anylonger, "alright Fah. Good day to you." He waves after the dragonhealer and shrugs when the lad doesn't even see it. Jaegon sighs and sits up. "I'llt alk to Ayla later, Jhalor." Elif trots on in and waves. "Hey...full cavern!" she remembers something and snaps her fingers. "Mav did you get those jewels A'wyn took back to you? You left em in here." Siara looks at M'verick's expression. "When he has to work, he forgets everything else," she explains. Jhalor nods firmly, chuckling as he pats Siara's shoulder one last time, "I'll be outside, enjoying the weather, cousin." Gordeeva looks at Jeagon and asks. "What's wrong with Ayla?" she says with concern A'wyn shakes his head, "I lost them.." he sighs. "I know I had them in my pocket, but when I arrived in Ista, I didn't have it with me.." Jhalor walks out to the Bowl. M'verick's expression darknes suddenly at Elif's question, "what do you mean A'wyn took back to me?" He looks over at A'wyn. "I thought I lost them. You have them then? The minecrafter wasn't too happy that I wasn't able to show them for the appraisal." Siara waves fondly after Jhalor and then settles back in her chair, sighing, all the current lovers of hers in the room having left. M'verick frowns a little dar, "do you have any idea how many marks I spent on those?" Elif blinks at A'wyn. "You Lost them??" she says in surprise.."Shards...those were worth something too.." She wrinkles her nose. "Sorry to hear that Mav..What are you having them appraised for? I thought they were a gift for Lal?" Jaegon jumps, having not seem Deeva come in. "Huh?" A'wyn sighs and glances at Elif, "I told you they were for you." M'verick continues to look rather gloomy, "I'm selling them to get a few extra marks for Lal's baby...since I'm not going to be around as much as I would have liked." Elif shrugs. "Alot I suppose...that's why we tried to get them back to you." she looks at A'wyn and shakes her head in surprise. "No...No...you didn't." she says, looking away. with a strange expression she looks up. "How much were they Mav?" Gordeeva looks at Jae and asks softly. "Are you alright? What's wrong with Ayla? You seem worried?" You say "Oh, everything is weird right now. That's all." Siara overhears Jaegon, looking around the gloomy room. "It sure is." She pauses, "you really think I should go out there?" she nods towards the bowl. Elif pulls out her Mark pouch and tosses it to M'verick. "Reimbursement on your loss. You wouldn't have lost the money if you hadn't bought them for me. I'll not have a little one suffering on my account." With that she turns and begins to head out. Jaegon nods. "I sure do, Sialove." Gordeeva smiles to Siara. "It might help." M'verick glares quietly at A'wyn for spilling the beans as he answers Elif, "they were quite a handsome price when I bought them...but, I can't exactly give them out as a gift to anyone now...so I'd rather just have the marks. But...since I can't seem to find what happened to them." He frowns at the marks and pushes them away, "It was my money to spend...I didn't give them as a gift...so they still belong to me." Gordeeva offers quietly. She mutters to Jaegon, "... talk..." You sense Gordeeva offers quietly. "If you need to talk I'll listen." M'verick rolls his eyes, "if I had them they would belong to me anyway..." A'wyn isn't gloomy. In fact, no one could make less happy right now. He sighs at Ric. "I'm sorry.." he says softly. Siara sighs and gets up, still looking irritable. "Well, if Fahloran asks, tell him where I went? But he'll probably be busy between work and Laurene." She waves to the others as she goes out to the bowl. A'wyn growls under his breath at Siara and shakes his head, then looks to everyone. "Take care all." Elif looks at him. "Take it before the weyrthief gets it...and give it to the baby." She is a stubborn old thing...he might as well do it. "I'm serious Mav. I won't have that hanging over my head." And with that...she goes. Elif strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns. A'wyn shrugs and waves once more before leaving, still in good spirits. A'wyn walks out to the Bowl. Gordeeva blinks at her supervisior and wrinkles her brow a bit. Jaegon says to no one in particular "Is everyone's dragon turned to a proddy green?" Siara walks out to the Bowl. Gordeeva looks to Siara and nods. "I'll tell him." M'verick shakes his head and gives the mark pouch to a kitchen worker to give to the headwoman. "Sorry about that...I ah...am just upset about losing those trinkets is all. You say "I didn't mean you, Ric. You at least have a reason to be upset. I'll keep a look out for those, all right?" Gordeeva nods at M'verick. "Of course." she says quietly, looking about at several gloomy faces. Too many for her. "I think I will go for a swim. Do you think the headwoman will mind me leaving these flowers here for a bit?" M'verick nods to Jaegon, looking deep in thought, "huh? Oh, I don't think she'll mind if you leave them here. Just hope someone doesn't sneak by and take them." Gordeeva laughs. "Oh I don't think the thief will want my flowers." M'verick shrugs, "I don't know." he chuckles quietly, "but, just in case you wanted to be safe." Gordeeva smiles and lays a gentle hand on Jaegon's shoulder. "I hope whatever is troubling you gets better." Gordeeva walks out to the Bowl. M'verick runs his hands through his hair, "now I know why I never come down to visit..." You say "It's usually nicer. Sia set Cami off, though." M'verick frowns, "how did she do that? Siara was just sitting here talking." He looks around the cavern, "she wasn't even sitting in anyone's lap or anything." You say "Cami is really senstive right now about Sia." M'verick nods slowly, although he doesn't seem to understand, "she--is?" Jaegon nods. "She adores Sia. It's the world's most open secret, I swear. I thinnk she was overreacting, but there's nothig to be done about it so long as Sia seems to keep ignoring her in favor of others. And I don't think Sialove truly understands that." You say "ANd on top of all that, Ayla seems to want to get possessive of me. Which I really don't need." M'verick shrugs up his shoulders, "well, Siara has always been like that. You would think Macami knew about that before she started falling in love with her." He looks a little guilty about speaking so harshly, "I guess that's not very kind of me to say...love is a hard thing." He sinks back in his chair slowly. "Ah...you and Ayla? huh, and you don't like that?" You say "It's not me and Ayla, and that's the trouble. We've been casual tumblers, not deeply attached." M'verick clears his throat to attempt to hide the growing blush, you'd think the poor guy would just get used to that sort of thing around the weyr right? "Oh, I see. Well...why not talk with Ayla and tell her how you feel. Might make things a whole lot easier to have them out in the open right?" You say "I guess I'm going to have to. No one else has ever tried to be jealous before." M'verick chuckles, "then I guess it's about time for someone to be jealous over you." He shrugs slowly, lightening up a bit. "Anyway, why the concern about it now if it was alright before?" You say "Because...I don't know why. Maybe because I'm getting to the age I need to get espoused." M'verick gives Jaegon a thoughtful look, "how old are you anyway?" You say "Twenty-two turns." M'verick looks up as one of his wingmates comes in from the bowl, motioning for him to come out. "Oh, excuse me Jaegon. Looks like my duties aren't finished for the day. I'll catch you later to pick up this conversation eh?" Jaegon nods. "Take care, Ric. Give Amy a scritch for me." M'verick chuckles, "I'll do that. Take care of yourself!" M'verick walks out to the Bowl. Jaegon is alone once more, and thoughtfully pulls out a tightly rolled scrap of hide from his belt pouch. Elif ambles out from the inner caverns. Elif plods on back in...sitting down and looking around. "This place cleared out fast." she says Jaegon nods, working on writing something. "Ric had to fly, and the rest all left." Elif nods. "Ric usually does make a quick exit when I show up. Surprised me he stayed that long." You say "Why? Is it that bad between you?" Elif shrugs. "I didn't impress, and he left me.. Never an explanation." she props up her feet. "I'm better off I suppose...he never could make up his mind to stay with me or dilly dally around...and if I dilly dallied around it was thread to pay..so bleh...I do wish he could be civil though. Man has an Agenothree tongue sometimes." You say "He's always ben nice to me, but then, I've not even Stood, so." Elif smiles. "He wanted me to be his weyrmate...after I impressed." she says quietly. "We were lovers for about two or three turns." You say "I knew that, I just didn't know things were so tense now." Elif grins. "They are when he makes them so." (Elif has to go. K'tel arrives.) K'tel comes down the stairway. K'tel says "Afternoon, Jaegon." He walks over and gets some klah then sits down, "What'd going on?"" Jaegon waves, looking down at a piece of hide and gnawing on the end of a pen. P'ter comes in from the Bowl. K'tel peers at the hide then shrugs. He sees P'ter and waves, "Heya!" Jaegon waves to P'ter, looking at the hide. P'ter waves back and walks over, "Hiya K'tel" he says with a smile as he arrives, then suddenly remembers his manners, "Sir!" he adds. K'tel covers his mouth as he yawns, "Wh...Why does everyone insist on doing that still? I can't look any scarier than usual." P'ter smiles, "Well, si.. Well look K'tel, frankly, I find it hard to remember these days but you /are/ the weyrleader and therefore a sir would be more appropriate." Basket(#14164V) This basket is filled with flowers tied together for drying. Oh, yes, and there's a rolled-up 'hide' in it. Jaegon laughs and looks up at P'ter. "DO that, and his helmet won't fit for long." K'tel sighs, "Since I'm weyrleader, can I request that you don't call me sir?" He grins, "It makes me feel old." Gordeeva comes in from the Bowl. K'tel takes a sip of klah then sits up straighter, blinking down at the mug, "Whew! That's stronger than usual." Gordeeva steps inside, smiling to see her flower basket is still there. She nods shyly to the bronzeriders, offering a "Goodday." as she crosses the room. P'ter waves to Gordeeva, then adresses K'tel once more, "If you would prefer that, I'll stick to K'tel. Just remind me if I ever step out of line." K'tel is still making a funny face at his klah. He hears Gordeeva, looks up, and smiles, "Afternoon." He grins at P'ter, "If you forget, I'll get my revenge when you have a similar position." P'ter blinks as K'tel and bows formally. He turns, "Hiya Gordeeva, how are you doing?" K'tel chuckles gleefully to himself. Jaegon looks up and hastily hides whatever he was marking on. Gordeeva gathers up the flowers that have already been bound for drying. "I'm doing well P'ter...and yourself?" Gordeeva smiles and cuts a longer piece of cord to hang the bound flowers from. "If Either you or K'tel would like flowers for your Weyrmates...you are welcome to take some. "She points to the overflowing basket, P'ter beams at Gordeeva, "I could?" K'tel quits his chuckling and looks at the flowers, "Ooh. I'm sure she'd love some. Thank you!" He stands up and walks over. Jaegon unrolls the hide and looks at it. You unroll the hide. It reads If you were the only one I'd seen With shy eyes and gentle smile If you were the only one to dream Then I'd know why I long to stay awhile. If you were the only one to touch And with your laugh brighten the day I'd know why I think about you so much Why I long for every word you say. If you were the only one to care I'd know why my heart seems to beat so strong. All I can hope is you understand My time without you seems so long. For you're not the first to kiss my hair And you're not the first to hold my hand. But you're the first to seem really there And you're the first to understand. So now I say I'm glad you're here, And now I hope you'll hear my plea I'll never hurt you, do not fear Deeva, I want you next to me. Gordeeva nods and then bites her lip. "P'ter, I tried to give some to Macami earlier to cheer her up, and it only upset her more, so please be careful and feel her out first. I wouldn't want to have her upset again." Gordeeva smiles to K'tel. "The Lavender is very aromatic." Jaegon is watching Deeva with a smile. K'tel pauses in his inspection of the flowers to glance between Gordeeva and P'ter, "What's wrong with Macami?" P'ter ponders this, "Hmm, well thanks for the advise, I'll have a chat to her tonight, find out whats up. Any ideas?" You say "It's just her being sensitive again." Gordeeva looks at her hands. "I don't know that it would be right for me to gossip about someone else K'tel. Please ask her yourself P'ter. I beg your pardon for not telling you more, but it isn't my place." P'ter rounds on Jaegon, turning quickly but rapidly regaining his composure, "If you were her you would be too Jaegon", he says, with a normal voice in contrast with his previous movement. Gordeeva looks apologetically at K'tel and resumes stringing the bouquets along the cord. K'tel ohs. He picks out some of the lavender and brings them up to his nose to sniff, "Very nice. She'll love these." He raises a brow at P'ter's comment. P'ter blinks and looks at Gordeeva thoughfully, "One question before I drop the subject. Yes or no answer will suffice." He pauses, "Siara?" Jaegon blinks. "I didn't say she didn't have merit, P'ter. If I didn't know it, and care about her, I'd be irritated every so often." K'tel rearranges the flowers, fiddling with different arrangements. He starts walking towards the stairs then pauses and looks back to smile at Gordeeva, "Thank you." Gordeeva says gently. "Jae meant no harm. he is very fond of Macami as am I." she looks at P'ter and then looks down. "Sir," she says formally. "It is not my place." Gordeeva looks at K'tel. "You are welcome. I hope she enjoys them." K'tel grins, "She will!" He nods to Jaegon and P'ter then heads up the stairs, stumbling once or twice because he's too busy with the flowers to watch his step. Jaegon gets up to get some water, passingnear the basket. He makes a slight motion, and if no one's speaking the faintest "thp!" can be heard, like somethingsmall landing on a soft bed of flowers. K'tel climbs the stairs, past the balcony and up to the upper hallway. Gordeeva turns from P'ter with an apologetic glance, but she is not the type to talk and spread rumors. P'ter sighs, "I admire you position Gordeeva and do not think bad of you for it, on the contary in fact." -- "Now then, what would you like to drink?" Gordeeva goes near the cold hearth and pushes a chair over to it, standing on the chair to hang the flower bunches to dry. "Thank you yes P'ter.. I would. Juice please." she replies with a grateful smile, carefully trying to stay on the chair and hang her flowers without falling. You say "Want me to hold that for you?" Gordeeva smiles and looks down to make sure to tuck her skirts modestly around her legs. "If you would I would feel safer. This beam is up a bit high for me to reach." P'ter turns to the meal table, "Anything Jaegon?" You say "No thanks, P'ter. But I appreciate it." He steadies the chair for Deeva. "Say, Pete, where are you from, originally?" P'ter gets two glasses of juice and returns, handing one to Gordeeva, "Bitra, not the hold, up in the hills to the north." -- "Why?", he adds with a smile. Gordeeva finishes tying the cord easily now that the chair is more stable, and then carefully steps down and brushes off her skirts. "Thank you Jae. It was kind of you to help." she says softly You say "I was just curious, because I thought you were but I haven't gotten any bets from you on the Telgar clutch." Jaegon smiles at Deeva. "You're welcome, sweet," he says softly. P'ter grins, "Didn't your mother tell you, never, never take bets against a Bitran?" Gordeeva smiles shyly and brushes past Jae to her basket, and begins to tie more flowers for the next bunch, laughing softly at P'ter's reply You say "Jaela told me lots of things, including be wary of some bronzeriders and never rn where you can walk. I didn't listen then, why should I now?" Jaegon grins at P'ter. Gordeeva listens and laughs a bit more before asking. "Who has been searched at Telgar?" You say "Xella, one of the lower cavern girls. A few others." P'ter smiles, "Ah well Jaegon, I wont bet on the clutch anyhow. I never do. It seems , well to me, too important and .. and prestigous to bet on somehow. Peoples lives are forever changed and well, I just can't bring myself to bet on it." Gordeeva looks up and smiles warmly. "What a lovely thing to say..and very true too." Jaegon nods slowly. "I can see your point. I do it because I enjoy the suspense." Gordeeva cuts the cord and ties the next bunch, then reaches in for more flowers...and finds something. M'verick comes in from the Bowl. M'verick wanders in from the bowl, wiping sweat from his face with the back of one dirty hand. P'ter nods, "Well, I don't mind if others do so, its there choice. Just for me, well, I cant bring myself to do it." He waves, "Hiya Ric. Hows you? Other then hot." Gordeeva smiles to M'verick and looks in the basket curiously, pulling something out. M'verick pours himself a tall glass of juice, "can't bring yourself to do what?" Pressing the glass to his face he sighs quietly, "I'm doing alright, and yourself P'ter?" Jaegon glances at Deeva, noticing her pause in her flower-spreading. Gordeeva sits down and raises her hand on her throat, reading a small hide in her hand. "Oh my." she says softly Gordeeva sets down the basket of flowers. M'verick glances at Gordeeva, "everything alright?" P'ter smiles, "Well enough Ric, trying to get into the hang of three day rotation of morning and evening sweeps. Don't know if I'm coming or going at times." Jaegon's grin brightens unaccountably, but it's a nervous grin. M'verick refills his glass before moving to a seat and grins at P'ter, "Yes well, if they let us get too comfortable in one shift, we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves." Gordeeva dares to look up at Jaegon, and then at M'verick, stammering slightly. "Yes. Yes...I'm fine. I'm sorry to startle you." she looks back at Jae again and catches the grin on his face, any question of who dropped that hide is answered. She lowers her eyes to the hide and her face grows very rosy and she smiles warmly as she looks back up, her eyes rather misty. "It's lovely Jae..Thank you." she whispers, her voice to full of emotion to truely speak. Jaegon's grin broadens, and he doesn't say anything. He just regards Deeva, green eyes sparkling. His hair is falling in his face, but he doesn't seem to mind. P'ter looks from Gordeeva to Jaegon, a grin on his face as he does so. He then turns to M'verick, "How does Amylith like it?" Gordeeva senses "Jaegon's poem suddenly clicks something in your memory. Shy eyes...he must have written that fragment you found the other day!" Gordeeva rolls the hide and holds it to her heart for a moment, then her eyes widen. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out the tiny hide scrap she found and hands it to him with a smile. "This must be Yours Jae." M'verick glances between Gordeeva and Jaegon with a faint 'ah' sound before clearing his throat and turning towards P'ter again, "Amylith doesn't mind it at all. She's happiest when she's at drills or sweeps or fighting thread. So, it makes extra work alright with me...Amylith enjoys it." You say "I think it's yours now." You sense Gordeeva soft fingertips brush the palm of your hand. Jaegon catches Deeva's fingers and lifts them to his lips. No shame, no pride. Totally besotted. It wouldn't even be funny if it wasn't Jaegon. P'ter tilts his head to one side, "Indeed, I'm a little surprised", he says with a smile. M'verick arches his eyebrows, "what's that? Because ehe likes something?" Gordeeva lowers her gaze and remembers to breathe just in time to prevent herself from swooning. Gordeeva stands and dares hug him warmly, asking with a shy smile. "Will you walk with me Jae?" M'verick can't help but chuckle as he glances over at the pair again, but he does his best to muffle it with his hand and make a vague coughing sound. Jaegon gives Deeva a warm return hug. "Sure. Where do you want to go?" The Star Stones? OK.Fine. I'll fly you there! P'ter also seems to be trying to ignore the couple, giving them some room as it were, he continues, "Well, hmm, its nice to think of Amylith enjoying sweeps and stuff, after all, I always did like that green of yours." Gordeeva smiles and takes his hand in hers. "Around the bowl is fine." she still holds the hide in her hand. She won't let it go for awhile. M'verick grins at P'ter, "I'm rather fond of her myself. Even if she can be lot to handle at times. How is that bronze of yours? Caught himself a flock of greens yet?" Jaegon meanders out to the Bowl with Deeva. You walk out into the Bowl. Field outside the Main Entrance Activity surrounds you as you gaze over the road which runs beneath the huge cliffs which form the southeastern section of the Igen Weyr Bowl. The wall opens here in three places... the middle one seems the most busy although the northernmost one is the largest. The ground under your feet is solid and rocky, and in the brightest sun it glares uncomfortably. To the north the road continues, winding its way past the hatching grounds and barracks to eventually leave the bowl. Cutting across the bowl to the northwest brings you to the center of the bowl. To the west lies a green field full of beasts- the Weyr's feeding grounds. The infirmary weyr opens to the northeast, and the living caverns to the east. Gordeeva walks over towards the center of the bowl. You walk over towards the center of the bowl. Center of the Igen Weyr Bowl(#802RJe) You are standing in the middle of the Igen Weyr Bowl. The views are certainly spectacular. The dark volcanic peaks of the caldera which houses the Weyr rise up all around, weather beaten yet still firm, except at the northeasternmost section of the bowl, where the sheer cliffs that surround you break, leaving a jagged and imposing pass. At different times of the day these peaks cast long shadows across the bowl. Light glints off the lake to the northwest, and the heat makes the air around you seem to shimmer as you gaze over the flat ground. The lake lies to the northwest, and to the northeast you can see a large training field, and beyond it, the Hatching Grounds and the weyrling barracks. Southeastwards lies the main entrance to the inner sections of the Weyr. A grazing ground lies to the southwest. I didn't know you felt this way." she says softly Jaegon pauses, keeping you from walking further, and turns you to face him. He looks down at you for a moment, green eyes bright. Gordeeva starts to look down as is her habit, but stops and looks back, her head tilted up towards yours. Jaegon smiles at that, examining your expression minutely. "Deeva...you know I'm weyrbred, right?" Gordeeva nods. "Yes...Jaela and F'gon are your parents." she smiles. You say "Do you know what that means, though?" Gordeeva considers. "Perhaps you had best tell me. That way I will not misunderstand." she says, giving his hand a gentle squeeze as she sits on some stones nearby. Jaegon sits slowly, still looking at you. "It means we start to experiment with each other young, Deeva, and it means that most of us don't really think about espousal. So far, I'm not a father that anyone's told me. But I could be. Friends of mine are fathers three times over. And mothers." Gordeeva looks away. "Jae. I came here to escape espousals...please understand..I'm not ready for such a commitment. " her eyes look pained. "Please don't ask that of me." Jaegon suddenly smiles even brighter, relieved. "You don't want to, at all? But..." and the smile fades, "You like me, don't you?" Gordeeva considers her answer very carefully. "I am so very fond of you. It is more than 'like'. Oh Jae I don't wish to hurt you for anything. I didn't mean to mislead you. But..I am not ready to make the commitment to just one person. And I don't think you are either." she says kindly, "So many women adore you and wish for your pleasures. And you seems to very much enjoy providing them." Jaegon shakes his head. "No, no! It's all right! I was so worried..." He stops. "Deva, may I court you? I mean..." he fumbles for words. Gordeeva looks at him and touches his face gently, she then blushes and looks away. "You know I am holdbred.." she says softly. "I...lack experience." she says, shamefaced. Jaegon shakes his head. "You don't understand, Deeva. You're so special. You're like those flowers you collected, except you don't fade. When I look at you, I see...I can't even describe it. And I do have lots of tumblefriends, and you know that. And you..something in me won't let me think of you as a tumblefriend. You're something else, not better, not less, just different. And you need to be courted. You need to be given flowers, and poems, and have songs sung to you, and stargaze with...you're special. And I don't know how else to say it, except to ask if you'll let me court you." Jaegon runs out of breath and blushes slightly at his effusiveness. Gordeeva looks at him. "Jae so many other girls would be better for you..why me?" she asks shyly, still not believing this handsome devil, and her dearest friend is asking to court her. You say "I do't know. I sat up in the weyr thinking and thinking. Siara even asked if I was sick. And I don't know why. I only know that it's how I feel. Will you let me?" Gordeeva sets the hide to the side, having still been clutching it to her heart. Taking both his hands in hers she smiles and nods, barely able to whisper through her tears. "Yes Jae...I would love to be courted by you," she says, blushing at her own boldness, forcing her eyes to meet his. Jaegon smiles warmly, then kisses each cheek, gently and softly. He keeps hold of your hands, not forcing you too close to him, but enjoying the contact. Gordeeva leans her forehead against his chest. "Oh Jae..." she whispers softly. "I'm scared and excited..and my heart is beating out of my chest!" she laughs softly. "What have you done to me?" Jaegon smiles at you, hugging you warmly. "Treated you as the Lady you are. That's all." Gordeeva looks up and shakes her head, smiling shyly. "I'm only a Nanny Jaegon. " she says demurely. "You are the son of a goldrider and her mate. I'm honored just to be in your company, and to have you for a friend." Gordeeva wraps her arms gently around your shoulders and hugs you back. Jaegon snorts a little at the "only" bit, and louder when you mention his Bloodline. "Rider Blood means less than holder Blood when it comes to rank. But having you as a friend makes my life brighter." Gordeeva smiles and slips away, standing and offering her hand. "You are to kind to me Jae." she says shyly, then picking up the hide and caressing it tenderly, she smiles, "You have harper blood in your veins too I take it." You say "Actually, no. I thought about the Harpercraft when I was younger, but I can't carry a tune in a basket." Midway up in the Bowl, Terrth drops off of Terrth's ledge and glides into the bowl. Gordeeva laughs softly. "Your writing is...beyond words Jaegon. I've never read something so beautiful...and to have it written to me..." Jaegon flushes. "It's not that good, Deeva. It doesn't do you justice. But..I felt like it needed to be said." Gordeeva looks at him. "I will treasure it, always." she looks at the hide and sets it down for a moment, slowly pulling her treasured pipes out of her pocket. "May I play something for you Jae?" Jaegon nods, smiling at you. "I'd love it." Gordeeva swallows. Very rarely has she ever played before someone. A deep breath and slowly a calm expression smoothes over her features as she lifts the pipes to her lips and begins to play, a lilting haunting tune as sweet and gentle as its player Jaegon listens to you for a long time, enchanted. Gordeeva smiles and places the pipes in her pocket and hugs him before darting away
