Just a moment between the pair...
Bla'ine enters the yawning cavern from the arched opening that leads from the bowl. "..and I told him not to put those things in there.." Bla'ine is speaking to another female bluerider as they enter the weyr. "I couldn't believe he would try and do something like that. It's been.. what? 3 turns?" Ariane is helping one of the cooks, handing her the items for the evening's stew. The female bluerider laughs. "He can be such a dope sometimes. You have to wonder just what exactly he thinks at times." She giggles a bit as they walk over to the refreshment table. Ariane looks up and over. She calls out "Can I get you something?" reflexively. Bla'ine looks over and stops, the blushes a bit as he spots Ariane. He smiles. "Um... well... I could use some klah." He forces himself to say. He doesn't feel right with her serving him. The other bluerider doesn't care. "I'll have some wine.. thanks." she says as they sit at a table. Ariane gets the go-ahead from the cook and toddles over to the klah, pouring Bla'ine his just the way he likes it. "Benden, Tillek, or Southern wine, ma'am?" she asks the other rider. Falan smiles up at her. "Whatever is the handiest. I'm not that picky." Bla'ine murmers a thank you to Ariane and sips a bit of his klah. Ariane nods and comes back with a sweet Southern wine, handing the goblet to the rider. "How's Lynlith, ma'am?" and she glances at Bla'ine "And Blurth?" Bla'ine manages to murmer a "just fine" while Falan smirks. "Just as grumpy as ever. Just like a spoiled little brat, he is." Ariane blinks. "Lynlith? Spoiled? He never acted that way when I was helping wash him, at least not to me!" Falan giggles. "That's because he was getting his way.. " Bla'ine smirks a bit at the comment. Ariane lingers at the table. "What didn't he get his way on?" Bla'ine murmers. "He didn't catch that green that rose up last night.. that's what." Falan nods. "That's it exactly." You say "Dragons throw temper tantrums over that? Really?" Bla'ine senses "Ariane shoots you a quick glance...wondering if that's where you were last night." You sense Bla'ine drops his head, as he gets that glance. Falan grins and nods. "Mine does.." You say "I never thought of that. Is it sort of like journeymen sitting in the dining room sulking?" Falan nods. "Pretty much.. he'll get over it in a day or two. He always does." Bla'ine has become awfully quiet, drinking his klah. Ariane smiles at you both. "How are you feeling?" Falan looks over at Bla'ine and grins a bit, then shrugs. "I'm doing pretty well this morning.." she says. A thunk is heard under the table and Bla'ine nearly drops his klah. "Ow!" he glares at Falan. He forces a smile up to Ariane. "I'm well.. and you?" Ariane bites her lip for a moment, then grins. Not quite her usual smile of joy, but an amused-without-being-mocking look. "I'm fine, too, although they found out I can burn water!" Falan tilts her head. "Water? How do you do that?" You say "It's an expression. It means when I cook, the whole kitchens get smoky." Falan chuckles. "Should we be worried about dinner then?" You sense Bla'ine ventures a gaze in your direction. You say "No, because they decided I could just hand the cooks ingrediants!" She smiles at you both, back to the normal warmth. "They hope that's safe." Bla'ine speaks up. "I think you would be a fine cook if you set your mind to it." Falan rolls her eyes and stands. "Well.. I have some things I need to attend to.. if you both will excuse me.." she takes her goblet and strolls out of the living cavern. Ariane calls after Falan "Clear skies!" Bla'ine watches the bluerider as she leaves and sighs a bit in relief. He smiles up to Ariane. "So.." You say "So...feel better?" Ariane smiles gently. Bla'ine ahems and motions to the chair across from him. "Better? Ariane nods. "I know fall stresses riders." Her face takes on a bit of color. Bla'ine tilts his head. "Fall? It's been a while since we had threadfall." he looks confused now. Ariane pushes on, doggedly. "And flights.." Bla'ine coughs. "Oh.. yeah.. I.. well, we didn't win last night either.. so." Ariane nods. "I could tell, that's why I asked." Bla'ine ahems and has turns a nice crimson red.. "I.. well.. " he lacks the wisdom to communicate at this level at this point in time.. he seems a bit more flustered.. perhaps disappointed.. Ariane gives you a sympathetic look. "It's one of the things that scares me about riders," she says truthfully. Bla'ine glances up at you, catching the gaze. "What exactly?" You say "The thought of losing myself that way." Bla'ine nods. "It's how I 'lost myself'." he sighs. "There wasn't anything I could do about it." Ariane reaches out and squeezes your hand. "I..wish I'd been there." Bla'ine returns your handsqueeze with one of his own. He nods. "I wish that too.." Ariane doesn't seem to be angry, only a bit disappointed. Bla'ine looks very apologetic.. he drops his gaze. "I'm sorry.." You say "No! Don't be. I didn't realize you were out there, I thought you were sweeping last night." Bla'ine takes a deep breath. "I was supposed to be.. until the green hit the feeding grounds.. I couldn't stop Blurth.." You say "Why should you stop him?" Bla'ine thinks about that for a moment. "It was the first time when I ever hoped he wouldn't catch. All I could think about.. was.. was you." he sighs a bit. "Then I just felt his frustration.. and I don't remember much after that.. I never do.. Ariane's eyes widen. "I don't want to get in the way!" Bla'ine shakes his head."I don't think of it as you being in the way. I like the thought of you being around me..
