HOME FIRES MISTS LIFEBLOOD SPOKES
He's young. He's sought after. And, oh yes, he's lonely. Bad combination.
Orchards, Benden WineCraft Stands of trees spread around you, neatly ordered into rows by type. You see only a few fruit trees, but numerous almond, hazelnut and walnut trees, as well as many klah bark trees. Nuts and klah are two of Benden's most important crops. The tree branches sag, weighed down by their heavy bounties of fruits and nuts. Cheery yellow sunbeams dapple down through the tree branches. The skies above are clear, not a cloud in sight as far as the eye can see. Benden's main road borders the eastern edge of the orchards. Obvious exits: Road Macami walks over from the road to the east. Macami smiles. "Hey there, Jae. Heard you were helping here." Gordeeva walks over from the road to the east. Jaegon is up a tree. He looks down at you, wiping sweat from his forehead. His clothes are already damp and stained. "Morning, Cami! Yeah, I've been here a few days now." Gordeeva steps up with a basket on her hip. She smiles and waves shyly to some of the faces she recognizes before going to the person in charge to ask for instructions. Macami turns. "Well, I carried Gordeeva over and thought to see how you are doing." She tilts her head and grins up at him. Gordeeva smiles. "And thank you again Macami...it seems I was needed." Gordeeva steps over and holds out her basket for a few of the Benden youths to drop thier gatherings in. Macami looks around, seeing all those busy people. "Yeah, seems like that. By the first egg, am I glad they don't need me." She chuckles softly. Gordeeva smiles. "I sort of like it." she blushes as she has to duck the rainfall of a few nuts that seemed to be aimed more at her head than the large basket. "Sort of." she laughs softly Macami chuckles at that and ducks herself, then idly picks up some of the nuts. "Aren't you working as nanny back home? Might be some change then. I've my days filled with hauling sacks of firestone and drills, so I don't need any more exercise." Gordeeva nods. "I must say the little ones are much lighter than the basket." she leans it on her hip. "It is nice just to be out of doors and in the orchards...I'd work just for that." Macami smiles at that. "Well, take the kids outside more often then. Though I have to say, the orchards here are much more beautiful than the stark desert." Gordeeva holds out her Basket to Macami to drop the stray nuts in. "I've yet to see an unfit looking rider." she says and then blushes a bit. "I mean you all seem very athletic and in good shape." Jaegon climbs down the ladder. "I like both your shapes," he comments. Gordeeva nods and looks up at the trees, closing her eyes and just sniffing the air. "Yes...But for some reason..Igen has a beauty to it too...I like living there." At Jaegon's words she ducks her head and busies herself with picking up nuts. Macami watches one of the nuts in her hands, then throws it deftly so that it strikes Jaegon's belly. "Oh, I'm sorry, wanted to hit the tree." She winks. Jaegon chuckles softly. "I love Igen. This is way too humid for me!" He pulls at his shirt to get some air flowing up it, cooling him. Macami grins. "Oh please, Jae, will you take your shirt off for us?" She decides to sit in the shade under the tree Jaegon's on. Gordeeva dares a peek at Jaegon just as he happens to lift his shift..she ducks her head quickly again. "Oh Macami...he might get burnt if he does." she blushes..forgetting the young man is Igen born and raised. Jaegon chuckles. "Only if you don't throw more nuts at me!" Macami slyly grins. "Okay, won't /throw/ any nuts." She oddly emphasizes that word. "Hey, Gordeeva, where are you hailing from originally?" Gordeeva giggles softly at Macami and then looks up. "Homlan hold. It's a bit below Benden." Macami slowly nods. "Ah, then this is almost home, huh. Well, I love Igen too." She still watches Jae. Jaegon wipes back damp hair from his face and grins at you both. "This is actually kind of fun. It's a lot different from rock climbing." Macami sits cross-legged. "I don't like any climbing. Too dangerous." Jaegon snorts. "And threadfall's not?" Gordeeva smiles. "Igen is a wonderful place to take refuge from unwanted Espousal proposals." she says softly. "Mother and Father both agreed it might be good to go away awhile. But I do miss this sort of countryside sometimes. And of course I miss them..they are wonderful parents." Gordeeva chuckles at the conversation. "Everything can be dangerous if you aren't careful. Even nice things." Jaegon smiles at Deeva. "No one makes you get espoused in the Weyr, thank the First Shell. But I'm spoiled. I don't think it's healthy for air to be this wet!" Macami shrugs. "Thread is something I can fight. But what about climbing? Flaming the rocks won't help me there. Espoused, huh? How awful." Gordeeva holds up a nut. "You can choke on this if you aren't careful how you eat it...but there is really nothing dangerous about a nut." she giggles at Jaegon. "I bety you have sweated more than you have in ages becuase of it. " she widens her eyes at her own boldness, and busies herself with the nuts again. "I seemed to be a good catch...though I don't know why...My father is only a small holder. It isn't as if I would have much dowry." Gordeeva seems uncomfortable with the subject and moves on. "Do you need a fresh Basket Jaegon?" Jaegon shrugs and sits down for a break, pulling out a water flask. He casts an eye up to the tree, as he says "In a minute, I do. Dowry is overrated, I think. It can be useful, but." He shrugs. Macami smiles at Gordeeva. "Sometimes beauty counts more than dowries, my dear Gordeeva. You have quite a pretty face, hasn't she, Jae?" Jaegon's skin is flushed from exertion, still, and he manages not to make it worse. "I think Deeva is lovely." Gordeeva seems quite surprised. "Oh not me!" she says in a hurry. "I'm so small." she blushes. "I have never seen so many lovely people as at the weyr..." she falls very quiet and remembers her manners. "Thank you both...that is so sweet of you to say." she smiles, her face brightening as she tries to return the favor amidst her own embarrasment. "I think you both are lovely too, inside and out." Gordeeva smiles warmly at both of them. "We need to get back to these poor nuts before they sprout into new trees from our neglecting them." Macami grins then shakes her head. "Oh, Gordeeva, I'm not anywhere as lovely as you are. I wish I were so delicate." She looks down at herself, then shakes her head again. You say "Camilove, I think you're lovely too. Or didn't you know that?" Gordeeva stands and goes to empty her basket into the wagon. "You are lovely in spirit and in grace Macami...your heart is a full one." She says softly, meaning every word as she turns to go. Macami smiles thoughtfully. "There must be something to it. You've told me repeatedly, and my weyrmate does too." She blushes, quite pleased at Gordeeva's words. "Thank you so much. And please, call me Cami." Gordeeva nods and hauls her basket away. Jaegon stands, tucking away the water again. "Lovely is more than what you look like. No matter what the songs say. Macami smiles. "Sweet Jae, you are too good to be true." She watches Gordeeva disappear with her full basket. "She's lovely indeed. I hope Siara stays away from that one." She smiles wistfully. You say "I think she would run from Siara. She's so very innocent." Macami nods. "And it would be wise if she did, or she will end up like me." She grins at that. "You like her, hm?" You say "She's all right." Jaegon tries hard for off-handedness. Macami arches her brows and refrains from adding anything to that, with a tiny smile. Jaegon blinks as something else you said sinks in. "Besides, what's wrong with you?" Macami cocks her head. "Something wrong with me? Nothing at all? Why do you ask?" You say "Because you seemed to think there was something wrong in the way you are, or that Deeva shouldn't want to be like you." Macami shrugs. "I'm not petite or beautiful or anything. Just plain me. Okay,my hair is nice, but that doesn't count." You say "You don't have to be petite to be beautiful. Camilove, you are a strong, strong person. Tivu knows, or he wouldn't have chosen you." Macami smiles at that, quite radiantly so. "Yes, my Tivu. But I'm not all that strong. Oh well. Why do we always end up talking about me? Why not about you?" You say "Because you are FAR more interesting." Jaegon grins at you. Macami grins back. "You are impossible, Jae." You say "And you love me for it." Macami chuckles. "In fact I do, Jae sweetling." Jaegon leans on the ladder. "Well, then. I see no reason to stop!" Macami smiles. "Have I said I will stop loving you, sweetling?" You say "You better not. It would break my heart." Macami chuckles. "Now, I could never stand survive breaking your heart, dear, so never you worry." Jaegon's eyes have that odd light again. "Cami.." Macami smiles. "Jae?" You say "If I kiss you, will P'ter kill me?" Macami chuckles softly. "Well, don't tell him. Besides, what harm is in a kiss, my dear." You say "None. It's what it might lead to that worries me." Macami leans against the tree. "Jae, why are you worried about that?" You say "Because I don't want to complicate things with you two. He is so protective, and I don't want him to think I'm going to hurt you." Jaegon half-smiles. "Quite honestly, I don't expect him to think at all, just react." Macami shakes her head. "He's not like that. And how would he ever find out? And how do you know that more would happen? I'm not all like Siara, my friend. And now come and get your kiss." Jaegon pushes off from the ladder and crosses the orchard to your side. He looks down at you for a second, eyes blazing bright, before slipping his arm around your waist. Macami smiles and hugs him close, one hand cupping his chin. Jaegon smiles slowly, bending to first brush his lips to yours, then slightly open them and kiss you deeply. His eyes half-close as he supports you against his body. Macami returns the kiss just as deeply, her hands running through his hair. After endless minutes she withdraws her lips, and smiles softly. Jaegon backs off, eyes shining, and smiles gently. "That..was worth waiting for." Macami chuckles softly, then kisses his cheek. "You waited for this? And you haven't fallen asleep yet, dear." Jaegon chuckles softly. "You noticed. No, I'm not sleepy." Macami trails some kisses along his neck. "So, feel any bad about it?" Jaegon shakes his head, shivering and tilting it to one side as you kiss. "Not a chance." Macami notices his shivering and deftly slides her hands under his shirt. "I like the clean smell of your sweat, dear." Her lips cover his again. Jaegon sways closer, melding his body to yours as he responds to the kiss, tracing your lips with his tongue. Macami utters a purring sound. She speaks close at his mouth. "Jae, I would like to grace you with a gift, because you are so wonderfully nice. Will you have me? And don't worry about P'ter..." Jaegon nods, sounding slightly dazed as he whispers "I'd love to...are you sure?" He pulls back long enough to look at you, expression concerned, fingers caressing your cheek. Macami nods and kisses him again. "Very sure. There, at the end of the orchard, wouldn't that be nice?" Jaegon nods, and manages to get himself together enough to let go slightly. He kisses you again, on the cheek, as the pair of you make your way down to the cleared end of the orchard. Macami chuckles softly, and looks around. "No one will notice, dear. Hm, my gift will be great training for the one that deserves you..." She winks enticingly. Jaegon blinks at you and then laughs softly. "You're silly!" And he nips at your throat, growling like a young canine playing chase. Macami chuckles at that and soon after the time for words is over and Macami gets lost in the sweet passion she and Jaegon share. Fade to Black.
