liz - Wednesday, February 10, 1999, 12:59 PM -------------------------------------------- Liz is talking to security, frowning. Fransisco comes down out of the catwalk, black boots thudding on the metal mesh. Liz looks over and smiles, frown melting as if it never was. There's a fresh bruise on her cheek, but she's in great spirits. Fransisco crosses over to Liz, smiles. "hello dear." Liz leans up to kiss Sisco, murmuring "Hey. Love you." Fransisco grins, returning the kiss. "been sparring again?" He winks. You say, "Of course. I would've won if he hadn't tripped me. Maybe next time." Fransisco grins. You say, "Least I didn't break anything this time." Fransisco sighs, looking around, a serious look on his face. Fransisco motions towards the private lounge, "come with me." Liz nods, following. Fransisco unlocks the lounge door, and moves inside. Liz follows you in, looking around. "Nice." Liz looks up. "So what's wrong?" Fransisco sighs, "yeah, it is. This is where we do our business for the domain. Where the prince rules." Fransisco says, "The prince is going away for a while, she's left me in charge." You say, "Cool!" Fransisco scowls, "that wasn't quite the word I'd picked." Liz grins. "Sorry. I have utter faith in you, more than in anyone else." Fransisco says, "She's going out of town because her husband might be a traitor, or has been kidnapped, or mind controlled, and she's trying to get him back. Likely, when, and if, she returns, she'll be followed by a whole pack of very pissed of vampires out to kill her. In the meantime, I will likely be assaulted by other minions of theirs trying to wrest control of the city. Basically, we're preparing for an invisible seige." Liz's smile fades. "Well, THIS has to suck. What's my orders?" Fransisco says, "first, don't let it go to your head that I'm in charge, this gives .you. no more position than you had. You are to remain calm, controlled, and humble. Any visitors to the farm to see me are to call in advance, this isn't new, but it's .required. for any who I do not specifially point out. I will give you and Phillipe the list. And even then, they are to be kept waiting in the lodge common room until I say otherwise. Anyone who isn't on the list that drops by is to be informed that I am unavailable." Fransisco says, "otherwise, they can try to leave word for me here with the bartender." Liz nods. She gets out a notepad from her back pocket, taking notes. "Got it. No visitors unless they're on the approved list, and everyone calls. I'm a nice little girl. Next." Fransisco says, "otherwise, they can try to leave word for me here with the bartender." Fransisco says, "The young girl who applied for a job, Justice, is to be given immediate and unquestioned shelter if she asks for it. Normal rooms. Any kindred who present themselves as such are to also be provided shelter in the basement rooms, no questions asked." Fransisco says, "immediately inform me of either situation, of course." You say, "Gotcha. Not my place to ask, anyway, it's yours." Fransisco says, "get me a shotgun, semi automatic, double barell. Big, lots of kick." Fransisco says, "I want a cannon that will blow the head off a charging elephant." Liz nods. "You've got your gun license number? I'll need it." Fransisco says, "put it on phillipe's." You say, "Check. Or should I just have him do the buying and do other things, like make sure the rooms are in good shape?" Fransisco says, "have him do the buying, you look into the rooms." Fransisco says, "have him get a crowd pleaser for himself, if he wants." Liz nods. She scribbles. "Ready for next orders." Fransisco considers. "nothing else at the moment." Liz nods. "All right. Can I make some suggestions?" Fransisco says, "of course." Liz nods. "My room is a good place to put cameras to survey the drive." Fransisco nods. You say, "What's the current camera system? Phillpe knows, I don't." Fransisco says, "two outside, one at the entrance, one overlooking the drive. One in each bedroom wide angle more or less pointed at the window, one on the kitchen, and one on each door. Also a wide-angle in the lounge. Another inside the entrace to the stable, and another looking down the length of each aisle." Liz nods thoughtfully. "We might also consider mounts in some of the trees on the property edge, motion-sensitive." Fransisco nods. You say, "How about the locks?" Fransisco considers. "upgrade the deadbolts.. but I'm sure if they wanted to, they'd just go through the door." You say, "Fire safety?" Fransisco says, "the basement is sealed off, as are my own quarters." You say, "What about sprinklers?" Fransisco says, "installed." Fransisco says, "it's an office as well, fire code required them." Fransisco says, "the basement and my haven have a halon release system as well. I'd suggest not being in the vicinity when it goes off." You say, "I'll have them inspected. Should I take any upgrade suggestions?" She nods, wincing at the halon. "I'll remember that." Fransisco nods, "take them into advisement, check with phillipe first." Liz nods. "Check." She scribbles it down. "I'll especially consider the barn. Hay's flammable." Fransisco nods. You say, "I'll also remind Phillipe to change the passwords on the computers again." Fransisco nods. Fransisco says, "and remind him to tell .me. this time." Liz giggles. "Check. Let's see. What else are these invaders likely to do?" Fransisco shrugs, "they are blood sorcerers, hard to tell." You say, "Ideas, though?" Fransisco says, "there really isn't a good defense for someone turning your blood to water." Fransisco says, "I doubt, however, that they will be quite so bold as to try a frontal attack." You say, "Well, do they need supplies?" Fransisco says, "I don't know." Liz nods. She thinks a bit more. "How long do we have?" Fransisco says, "hard to say, Maya seems to think it's fairly urgent.. but, with the archon still here, not likely to happen until after he leaves." You say, "Good. That gives us a little time to get weapons. Same thing kills these guys? Fire?" Fransisco nods, "Yes, fire is most unpleasant to my kind." he considers for a moment. "of course, it's equally possible that both celina and chloe are tremere informants, either controlling or being controlled by dominic. and their information concerning richard being in trouble, or being the trouble may simply be a way to try to get her away from my protection to make her easier to kill, and then trying to take me down later." He looks troubled. You say, "The Archon told her her childe was in trouble?" Fransisco shrugs, "I never heard the specifics. I came in after she decided to go get him." You say, "OK. I'd mention it to her." Fransisco takes out a cellphone and talks to phillipe briefly, asking him to pass along the message and make sure a certain dagger is also delivered. Liz crosses her legs, thinking deeply. Fransisco says, "nothing else comes to mind. I'll have to talk to the others, find out where they all stand." Liz nods. "I'll get on this. Do you need to eat?" Fransisco looks up, "hrm, yes, I'll get something on the way home." Liz looks vaguely disappointed. Fransisco says, "you need all of your strength." You say, "Take what you want, I can make more." Fransisco scowls, stands, cross over, and leans in, fangs breaking the skin of your neck, he feeds slowly. Liz every so often whimpers softly, but of course doesn't resist. Not a chance of that, even if she could. Fransisco finishes, closing the wound, and holding you close. Liz sighs softly and leans into your arms. Aloud, she says only "War... what's it good for. To make you feel better about living." Fransisco chuckles. Liz waits in the comfort and safety while her head stops spinning. Fransisco holds you against him, rubbing his hand up and down your back. You say, "Sisco?" Fransisco says, "yes dear?" You say, "Love you. Hope you don't have to give me a mercy blow in this." Fransisco kisses your forhead, "that makes two of us." Liz grins. "If you do, though, I won't haunt you. Promise." Fransisco chuckles, "I'd nope not." Liz shakes herself. "Oh! Why are we harboring that girl, if she comes?" Fransisco says, "she is a friend, and she was attacked and raped last night." You say, "Shit. Do we kill him?" Fransisco says, "If we find him, probably." You say, "Do I have to give him a weapon?" Fransisco says, "he is a weapon." Kyla appears from the main room. Kyla walks in, running her hand through her hair. She looks up from the floor, and blinks, "Oh I hope I'm not inturrupting." Liz nods, delighted. "Check, boss..." She spins, hand going to what's not at her waist, then relaxes. Kyla raises a brow at Liz, "Gonna hurt me?" You say, "No, ma'am! Just reflexes." Fransisco chuckles quietly. Fransisco says, "he is either garou or one of our kind, who can shift into wolves. Either way, he's meat." Kyla mmms softly, "You realize that the only people allowed in here are us, right?" Kyla blinks to Fransisco, "Who?" Fransisco looks at Kyla, "the one who raped a friend of mine last night." Kyla blinks, "Who is it?" Kyla says, "What happened?" Fransisco says, "I don't have a name yet." Fransisco sighs, "Merrill looked her over, I'll talk with him more later about it. She is kinfolk and someone did a number on her, I'm.. irritated." Kyla furrows her brows, "Do you have a description? Anything?" Fransisco says, "oh, and maya is out of town." he sighs, "She's going after Richard." Fransisco shakes his head, "not yet, no." Kyla throws her hands in the air, "what the hell is going on around here? Who's Prince till she gets back?" Fransisco says, "I am." Kyla nods, "Ok. Cool." Liz keeps her mouth shut. Kyla raises a brow to Liz, "Now what?" Liz shakes her head. "I'm just the servant here." Kyla frowns softly to Liz, "If you have something to say, speak your mind." You say, "Just thinking I'm glad it's my boss, is all." Kyla mmms, "I see." She folds her arms gently. Fransisco says, "tremere are on the move." Kyla raises her brow, "What do you mean? Explain." Fransisco sighs, sits down, he still keeps his old seat to the right of the head chair. "I'm still not convinced that chloe, dominic, and maybe celina, aren't all working or under the control of the tremere. It's aufully convienent that chloe says on one side that richard is a threat, and on the other maya runs off to go .save. him. .. Maybe he's a threat, maybe he's bait. If the tremere wanted to kill maya, they'd do it by getting her away from us, those that can protect her. and if they have richard in their sway, she's as good as gone. While she's gone, they'll expect a power vaccumn here and perhaps make a move to take the city as well. which is known to be a coveted territory. Kyla frowns softly, "Any of them hurt Maya, they will have me to contend with." Liz doesn't say anything, but she listens extremely intently. Fransisco says, "commendable attitude, but that may not stop them." Kyla shrugs a bit, "What do you want me to do? I don't fight, and I don't play the Jyhad. Not my thing. But anyone threatens my friends, the contend with me. That's how I live. Period. I don't care if she's Prince, and I don't care if you're Prince, but I would protect both of you if need be. Because you are my friends and there's nothing more to it." Fransisco nods. Fransisco smiles, "thank you." Kyla raises her brows, "For what?" Fransisco says, "being a friend." Liz's posture relaxes the rest of the way. She sits back in her chair. All is good. Then she changes her mind, gets up and goes over to the bar and pours herself a drink. Kyla shrugs her shoulders gently, her red curls draping them, moving along with the shrug. "That's my lot in life. To be a friend, and to protect those friends if need be. I mean...what else would I use these powers I have for anyway?" Fransisco chuckles, grins. Liz suggests "Winning the lottery?" Fransisco snickers. Kyla frowns softly. Appearently she doesn't think that's funny. She licks her lips slowly, "I'm not a Ventrue." You say, "Sorry." Liz carries the glass back to her seat. "I really didn't mean to insult you, ma'am." She sounds repentant enough. Kyla nods gently to Liz, "Forgiven and forgotton." Liz glances at Fransisco, as if for permission. Fransisco just nods. Liz looks back to Kyla. "If I may ask, though...what are you?" Kyla looks Liz over for a long moment. She takes a breath, (Yes she still breathes, in fact...she's the most human looking vampire you've probably ever see. Could pass for a mortal hands down.) and says softly, but very proudly, "Gangrel." Liz looks blank. Doesn't mean all that much, apparently, at first. Then: "The ones that live outside towns?" Kyla raises her brow, "When we choose. We live where we like. Most of us prefer the woods, and all that nature has to give, shelter, food, things of this nature. Some of us even run with the Garou if we can pass off the charade long enough without getting killed. Some choose to live within a town or city, to protect those within." She looks to Sisco, then back to Liz, "Has Sisco not taught you about us?" Liz flushes. "A little bit. I've had other things to learn, too. And his time is valuable. It's why I asked." Kyla leans in a bit closer to Liz, still probably 5 feet away from her, "Did he tell you of his powers? Has he told you what we Gangrel can do? I would think this pertinant information for a servant like yourself." You say, "He's showed me his. I didn't ask about anyone else's. If you want to show me, I'd be honored to learn." Kyla stands at her full height. Which is all of 5 feet tall. She nods gently, "We Gangrel are creatures of nature. Our powers are all derived from this. We can speak with the Animals, and have them obey. We can see in the dark, meld with the Earth, grow claws....shift our form into bats, and wolves, and some even into mist." She shrugs, "We do not hold sway over people's emotions, or minds. We cannot look into men's hearts. We are adapted for outdorr life, you could say." Liz's eyes widen. She breathes "Coooooool...so you can fly?" Kyla shakes her head, "My shapeshifting has not developed into that of mist yet, and instead of the bat, I shifted into a wolf." Liz doesn't look much less impressed. "That's wild." Fransisco says, "so to speak." Liz flashes Sisco a grin. Fransisco smiles. Kyla's eyes flicker to Sisco, "Yes. We are wild, aren't we? But there are none of us who would rather t any other way, really." Fransisco smiles. You say, "It's nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Liz, by the way." Fransisco smiles, "she's one of my ghouls." Kyla nods gently, "I assumed as much." She extends her hand to Liz, "Pleasure to meet you." And yes...her hand is as warm as a mortals. Liz takes it, and kind of blinks at the warmth. "Are you sure you're not still living? I mean...you're real warm. Not to be rude." Kyla smiles softly, "I have kept my human nature, to an extent. I still breathe, look human, feel human." She shrugs gently, "The Gift I recieved did not hamper my, really, except in emprional ways." Liz glances at Fransisco. His tutelage evidently didn't cover this possibility. Fransisco nods to Liz, "she's pretty unique." Liz grins. "Bet it makes it easier to hide." Kyla nods gently, "It does, though I cannot eat human food, like some can." You say, "Gangrel. Wow. That's a kind of a hard-sounding word for nature folks." Kyla mmms, "We are a hard clan, Liz. Cross us, and you will not forget it. Most of us are easy going, until such time as we are needed to be otherwise." You say, "I have no intentions of crossing you, ma'am." Kyla smiles softly, "That is good to hear. And please....do not call me ma'am. I realize I am older than you, but I look just as young, perhaps younger. It really gives me the creeps." You say, "Sorry. I'm under orders to be nice to everyone, so I'm trying." Fransisco grins. Kyla nods, "I can understand that, but try not to be so....formal with me." You say, "OK. Can I call you Kyla, then?" Kyla nods, "Please. I would rather that, thank you." She smiles softly. You say, "I've seen you around the farm a couple times, but I'm always busy doing something." Kyla smiles, "I like to visit there, Sisco let's me ride now and then." she mmms, "Is there anything else you would like to know about me, Liz? Information gained is a whole new understanding. I am willing to answer anything you might ask." Fransisco smiles. "She is of the gangrel, wardens of the forests... Ventrue, denziens of the boardrooms and bank vaults... Malkavians, the crazed lunatics with a penchant for dark visions. The Nosferatu.. the.. disfigured creatures the crawl through the sewers, nice if you get to know them, though... My own clan, the brujah. The heathen scum that call themselves tremere. The necromancers of the italian family of Giovanni. The assassins of the middle east, the assamites... the egyptian followers of set, devils, each and every one.. the gypsies known as the ravnos who play tricks with light and shadow, never trust them. The old noblesse of the Tzimisce, the eastern european nobles who ruled once with an iron fist. and the Lasombra, who battled us for control of Spain a thousand years ago." He considers, "Did I leave any out?" Kyla says, "Toreador." Kyla says, "Daughters of Cacophony." Liz drags out the notebook again and scribbles frantically. Kyla smiles to Fransisco. Fransisco nods, "the Toreador are the keeps of art and beauty, the daughters are hardly worth a mention." Kyla frowns softly. Perhaps she took offense to that last one. Liz mutters "Ravnos..don't trust them....lasombra..gotta be assholes.." Fransisco says, "currently, we have.. what.. a few brujah, a pair of ventrue, a toreador, a malkavian, a giovanni, a clanless..." Kyla says, "We have a pair of Ventrue?" Fransisco says, "if murphy is still around we have a nosferatu." Fransisco nods, "roundtree is ventrue, no?" Kyla says, "And one Gangrel in the city." She nods to Fransisco, "Oh yes... I forgot." Liz looks up. "Clanless? How's that work?" Fransisco says, "he was sired and left without knowledge of his clan or what he is." Fransisco says, "though," he considers, "last night he said something about his sire knowing more than I ever did.. would lead me to believe he knew his sire... I shall have to ask him about that." Kyla pipes up, "Many young Brujah are norotious for doing this." She nods, "Some Gangrel as well." Kyla raises a brow to Fransisco, "Really?" Fransisco nods to Kyla, "indeed." Liz scribbles this down too. Kyla mmms softly, again, asking Liz, "Anything else you would like to know about me?" Liz considers. "Yeah. What's it like to talk to animals?" Kyla smiles, "Liberating. The communication is fascinating, then when they hop to do what you ask of them...it's really amazing." You say, "Do they think in words?" Kyla mmms, "No, more like actions, feelings." You say, "Didn't think so. That's so cool." Kyla smiles softly. Liz grins. "I want to learn that some day." Kyla mmms, "I don't believe you can, unless Fransisco learns it. I'm not quite sure how it works....having one such as yourself. I've never made one." Fransisco says, "her abilities come from my blood." Fransisco says, "she will soon be.. quite strong, I would wager." Liz blushes. "I'm trying." Kyla nods gently, "Then you cannot learn to talk with the animals, unless he learns it, and teaches you. Or...unless one of our kind embraces you." she nods gently, and smiles to Liz, "That's good." Liz mutters "I didn't break any of Phillipe's bones today, at least." Kyla raises a brow. Fransisco says, "my other ghoul, they spar." Fransisco smiles, proudly. Kyla smiles, nodding, "Good." You say, "Speaking of, I should get back and get preparing with him." Kyla raises her brow to Liz, then looks at Sisco. Fransisco says, "Maya is expecting tremere to be moving in on the city soon. I'm getting prepared." Kyla nods gently, "I see." Liz pauses. "Any insight you have to offer me to help my lord would be welcome, Kyla." Kyla raises her brow, "If they knock on the door, don't let them in." She shrugs. Liz grins. "Thanks. I'll keep it in mind." Kyla smiles softly, "Good. It's the least likely soloution." She shrugs, "And easiest." Liz bows a little from the waist. "Kyla." She grins at Fransisco. "I'll be waiting when you get home with an update, but I'll be trying to get some sleep too, OK?" Fransisco nods, "until then, dear." Kyla's fingers wave to Liz.
