Jaegon almost never drinks. When he does, he lives to regret it.
Igen Weyr Living Cavern(#600RJMQ) Igen's living cavern is an immense hollow in the volcanic caldera, stretching up two stories, the light of the glows and the hearth reflected in the quartz which peppers the swirled sandstone unique to this region. One hundred feet wide and one hundred and fifty feet long, the room could, and, as the social center of the weyr, often does, seat the entire weyr. Tapestries adorn the walls, depicting scenes from Pern's past. The head table sits upon a raised platform at the far eastern side of the room, in front of a huge fireplace which is continually burning. A wide balcony overlooks the cavern, and large tunnels lead west out to the bowl, and south to the kitchens. A smaller tunnel leads off to the east, beyond which lay the inner caverns of the Weyr. A small doorway in the northern wall opens to the infirmary, and a quiet door to the northeast opens into the Records Room. In the corner one may +view a plaque. Tables fill a good portion of the room. One can '+view' them at a glance, or get '+help places'. Contents: Meal Table Obvious exits: Bowl STairs Records Room INFirmary Kitchen Inner Caverns Shayne comes in from the Bowl. Jaegon is leaning on the wall, drinking water and looking, well, headachy. Shayne is yawning as she trudges in, fluffing her black curls to get rid of 'helmet hair'. As always, she heads to the food, needing a sweetroll. Elen comes in from the Bowl. Elen comes in from outside, steps light and soft. She glances about and then gives a soft smile to those already inside. Jaegon waves a bit, closing his eyes. Macami comes in from the Bowl. Shayne has a sweetroll being held in her mouth while pouring some juice. Done pouring, she turns, removing the yummy roll and going to a table. "Elen," she says with a nod of her head. Then adds, "Macami" when she comes in too. Macami walks in whistling, taking off her flying cap and gloves. Jaegon says "Morning." without opening his eyes. Macami bows her head. "Shayne, Elen, Jaegon, a wonderful morning to you." She flashes a grin. Shayne frowns slightly from Macami's joyous greeting while settling into a chair. Jaegon get some of her attention, but instead of chatting with anyone, she chomps down on her roll. Elen smiles and waves to Macami, but her glance really falls upon Shayne. "Love, did you...er...get some sleep?" Shayne gives Elen a nod, still chewing. Jaegon slips down the wall into a crouch, still without opening his eyes. Elen sighs alittle and slides into a chir, Jaegon not as yet having caught her eye. "I well, you know where I am okay?" Shayne swallows, her gaze back on Jaegon as she relpies to Elen. "Yup." Pausing to sip her juice, "Looks like someone has a hangover," she mumbles. Elen gives Shayne a soft smile and then looks ast the young man in question. "Hm, and a fair bad un too." You say "You don't have to yell it to everyone in the cavern, but yeah, I do." Elen giggles a little. "Hey that was soft for Shayne...I can ask her to shout if you want?" Jaegon winces. "No, please. That's fine." Shayne is glaring, not a good sign. "Then don't be so snippy or I will," she retorts, still pretty quiet for her. Jaegon can't see the glare, since the living cavern is just too bright for him to keep his eyes open this morning. "I wasn't snippy." Elen blinks, looking at Macami before back to Shayne. "!hey come on Shayne, you know what you are like with a hangover." Shayne mumbles into her juice cup, "I don't have hangovers." Elen snorts at that. "Hmm, you wish that were true!" Jaegon sips his water warily. Shayne clams up and gets quiet. She'll just finish this sweetroll and drink her juice and not say another word. You say "Anyone seen Amberan?" Macami slides onto a seat and smirks at Elen. "How can you say that our wingleader has a hangover. She's just thoughtful, that's all." She grins. Elen sighs, looking mad with herself. "Shayne...oh please, come on, you know that was well, me?" She shakes her head at jaegon. "Nope, not a sign." Elen shakes her ehad at Macami. "I did not mean now, just well, she has before." Macami sobers up a bit and nods. "Okay, okay. Sorry for teasing. How's Derlen?" She looks over to Shayne warily. Shayne still ain't talking, nope. Jaegon mutters to himself, "... searched... he's... minehole somewhere." You mutter to yourself, "His sharding daughter gets searched and he's down a minehole somewhere." Shayne finishes her juice and sweetroll. Now what to do? Make a quick getaway? Nah, then they'd think she was a wimp. Just sit there in silence with her arms crossed is the way to do it. She can't help but look at Jaegon, though, wondering about him. Macami gets up, gets herself some porridge and then decides to study Jaegon too, very curiously, slight smile on her lips. Elen smiles slowly as she watches Shayne....almost willing Jaegon to say something further now. Jaegon tries the water again. Yeah, small sips. He opens his eyes ever so slightly to check the glare level and realizes everyone is staring at him. "Uh, what?" Shayne looks away from the resident, finding a dent in the tabletop fascinating and worthy of her utmost attention. Macami takes a spoon full of porridge. "Hm, Jaegon, what's up today? Where have you left your merry mood?" You say "In the bottom of three wineskins." Elen decides she can focus on Shayne is Macami is talking to Jaegon. "Dear, you seen V'ral at all lately?" She refrains from smiling as usual. Shayne looks up, having figured out that Elen's talking to her, then looks back down while speaking. "V'ral? Saw him on the Rim yesterday." Macami snorts. "Any particular reason for that, Jaegon? Ask me, I know that wine is no solution at all." Elen is not going to leave it there. "Oh did you....how did he seem?" Her head tips to one side in curiouslity. Shayne shrugs, her fingertip going around and over that dent. "Sorta down, I guess." Elen nods slowly, face showing a hint of concern. "Hmm, that well, is not perhaps what I wold want to hear, though I suppose yopu were good company for him." You say "No reason at all, Cami." Shayne chuckles dryly. "Me? Oh yeah, I'm a barrel of laughs," she mumbles, finally looking up at Elen, her face not showing any of it's usual humor. Jaegon sighs and sips water again, slow sips. Macami slowly nods. "Well, then it's okay. Otherwise I would have been worried, Jaegon." Elen hols Shayne's gaze with soft and sympathetic eyes, thoough they are empty of pity. "Love, I meant you would give him perhaps more understanding, and well, him to you too." Shayne looks away, now fiddling with her empty cup. "We understand each other," is all she has to say on the matter. You say "Don't worry about me, Cami. I'll be fine when my head explodes." Macami smiles at Jaegon, but concern is on her face, in her eyes. "If you say so." You say "I say so." Elen chuckles a little, though dryly. "Aye, both very, very similar." Shayne narrows her eyes, leveling them on Elen. "Don't ya even be thinkin' about fixin' us up together, Elen. Neither of us want that." Elen does a double take. "Trust me...oh trust me that was furthest from my thoughts!" Macami moves to sit right next to Jaegon. "Want some klah perhaps? Or a companion? Or whatever?" Shayne releases a breath, looking quite relieved as she leans back in her chair. "Thank Faranth for that." Elen winks, a little wickedly, "For if I did that, how would I ever sneak in the odd dance for myself huh?" You say "Sure, Cami. If you want. I'm not the most social right now." Macami grins slightly. "Klah or companionship? You choose, Jaegon." She winks. Jaegon winces. "I can't drink klah right now." Shayne is quite bewildered at Elen's statement. "Dance?" Laurene ambles out from the inner caverns. Elen smiles from ear to ear. "Come on the whole weyr knows what my favourite occupation is." Macami chuckles. "Okay, companionship then." She waves to Laurene then smiles at Jaegon again. "Wanna talk maybe?" Elen ndos to Laurene as she enters. Laurene smiles and waves to Macami and Elen. "Hi all," comes her cheerful greeting. Jaegon winces. More cheerful people. Shayne begins to rise from her seat, taking her time. "Forgot about that, El," she mutters, nodding to Laurene. Like Jaegon she's none too pleased by all these cheerful people. "I gotta go," she says flatly. Laurene blinks a bit at the reaction, but shrugs it off. She makes her way over to pour some klah, sweetner and cream added. With mug and smile, she finds herself a seat. Macami waves to her wingleader, with a very polite smile. Shayne does the obligatory wave, muttering to Macami, "Don't be late for drills this afternoon," then passes outside. Shayne walks out to the Bowl. Jaegon mutters to Macami, "I... companionship..." You whisper "I guess companionship is out, then." to Macami. Macami seems baffled. She mutters to Jaegon, "... fear..." You sense Macami seems baffled. "Why is it out? I fear I don't understand you." You say "I was trying to joke, Cami." Macami ahs. "I see. Well, sometimes I'm not good at catching a joke. And it wasn't very funny." You say "Give me marks for trying, at least." Jaegon rests his head against the wall. Elen chuckles to herself. "I should have been blessed with a weyrmate who liked dancing." Macami sighs. "I'm afraid I don't have marks to spend for things like that. Decorating a weyr is expensive enough." You say "I know. I lost a halfmark on Celie." Macami arches her brows. "You did? Why?" You say "I wagered Urieth would rise a couple days ago." Macami chuckles softly. "You should stop betting for a while. You cannot always win." Elen stands to her feet. "I think I am about ot be needed elsewhere...if you will excuse me." Elen walks out to the Bowl. You say "No, but it passes time." Lyndra comes in from the Bowl. Macami waves to the stranger from her seat at one of the tables. Jaegon closes his eyes again, the light in the cavern just a bit too much for him right now. Lyndra enters with her attention directed over her shoulder, her features blossomed into a bright smile. She returns Macami's wave, steps around two riders talking, and remarks, "Lewis's duties to Igen. Hi. That's right, isn't it?" Macami smiles at Lyndra's word. "Igen's duty to Lewis then, though I've never heard about that place before. May we help you?" Jaegon pushes himself to his feet. "I'm going to go relax." And take hangover remedy. Macami shrugs and sighs. "Well, take care of yourself, Jaegon." Laurene waves to Jaegon, "Have fun." Jaegon pauses. "I could use a lift up, Cami, if you have time." Macami smiles. "Sure, Jaegon. Where do you want to go?" You say "F'gon and Hollerith's weyr." Macami nods. "Sure, let's go." You walk out into the Bowl. Field outside the Main Entrance Activity surrounds you as you gaze over the road which runs beneath the huge cliffs which form the southeastern section of the Igen Weyr Bowl. The wall opens here in three places... the middle one seems the most busy although the northernmost one is the largest. The ground under your feet is solid and rocky, and in the brightest sun it glares uncomfortably. To the north the road continues, winding its way past the hatching grounds and barracks to eventually leave the bowl. Cutting across the bowl to the northwest brings you to the center of the bowl. To the west lies a green field full of beasts- the Weyr's feeding grounds. The infirmary weyr opens to the northeast, and the living caverns to the east. Contents: Tivuketh Amylith Pot of Sand Healers' Herb Garden Obvious exits: Guest ledge INFirmary Main Entrance Center of Bowl Feeding Grounds North Macami walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern. Macami adeptly climbs up to sit between Tivuketh's neckridges, strapping herself to her lifemate. Tivuketh As you sit atop the brown dragon, admiring his muscular build, you can see the darker spots of various colours rippling upon his hide. He lifts his head and calmly looks at his rider, ready to go where she wants to. He wears his fighting straps which should be put to use before he lifts to the air. Contents: Macami Macami leans forward to offer a hand and her lifemate extends his foreleg with a whuffle so that you can easily climp up. Away from Tivuketh, Tivuketh whuffles at Jaegon and stretches himself lazily. Macami chuckles. "Up you go." You spring into the air of the Bowl. Over the Ground in the Igen Weyr Bowl(#769RLae) The oval shaped caldera surrounds you, and the peaks which cast long shadows across the Bowl at various times of the day reach up past you to the sky, towering in all directions. There is a sense of productivity in the air, with dragons flying to and fro on business all over the Bowl. The air is slightly cooler closer to the ground, although that's scant consolation to those visitors from the north who are unaccustomed to the desert climate. Down to the northwest, the glint of water betrays the lake's position, while to the northeast a large field leads to the Pass out of the Weyr, and a large gap in the wall betrays the location of the Weyr's Hatching Grounds. Southeast, the activity indicates the main entrance to the inner Weyr, and the sounds of herdbeasts travel on the wind from the southwest. Straight below lies the center of the Bowl. A few ground weyrs are accesible from this level. Contents: Kineth(#14166Vaes) Obvious exits: Hatching Grounds Weyrs Up Jaegon lays his head on the back of your shoulder. You beat your wings powerfully to swoop up higher in the Bowl. Midway up in the Igen Weyr Bowl(#779RLVae$) All around, the peaks of Igen Weyr reach up past you to the sky, like the fingers of a hand. The weather beaten caldera is clearly oval shaped, shielding you somewhat from the winds that whip their way over the desert to the west, although the air currents remain tricky and even the most experienced dragons stay somewhat on their guard in this area. Heat permeates the Igen Bowl, the air shimmering slightly. Far below, the ground looks like a patchwork quilt - the blue of the Igen lake to the northwest, a patch of green to the southwest promising the feeding grounds, and various shades of brown and yellow-green in between. Openings can be seen in most of the walls of the Bowl at this height, their ledges providing a sunny spot for the weyr's fighting dragons. Obvious exits: Visitors' Weyr Weyrs Down Up Macami looks back over her shoulder with a smile. "Comfortable?" Jaegon, muffled: "No. But thanks." You wing down to Hollerith's ledge. Hollerith's Ledge(#3385RJLe) The ledge here jutts out several meters out from the clifface. You can see the floor of the bowl many many many dragonlengths below. The entrance into the weyr proper is very large, as is the main cavern, extending far enough for more than enough room for 2 to 3 large dragons to sleep comfortably. There would even still be enough room for a few humans in the place as well. Contents: Hollerith Obvious exits: Igen SkyMacami gracefully slides from her lifemate's neck and smiles lovingly back up at him, as he warbles to her when she safely reaches the ground. Tivuketh extends his foreleg so that you can carefully slide down to the ground, holding on to the straps. Macami smiles at Jaegon. "Oh, c'mon, I want my cheerful Jaegon back." Jaegon slides down, catching himself before he stumbles, and heads into the bedroom. "Tuck me in?" Sleeping Room(#7026RAJL) Once cluttered with the accoutrements of a bustling family, this room is now more tidy and spare. The clothes press is still overflowing and the garments patched, but the clothes are at least neatly folded. The sewing area is more organized. The former children's alcove is now Jaegon's alone, his bed filling most of the space. The hooks that used to hold Fianna's cradle now support storage baskets, and Jaegon is always hitting his head on them as he ducks in and out of his room. He's partitioned it off with a cloth hanging, which affords him visual privacy if not aural. The walls are hung with tasteful tapestries, depicting Igen in the brief rainy season and the long, hot summer. The tapestry of the Benden Hold Gather, however, holds prominance over the bed, and the old coverlet (a bit the worse for wear, now) with the same distinctive style is folded neatly over the main bed itself. Obvious exits: Ledge Macami looks around curiously. "Well, nice place." She just smiles. You say "Thanks...it's just right for Father and me." He pushes aside the hanging for you to enter the small space if you want. "I like it, anyway." Three wineskins flop limply on a table, with an empty glass next to them. Macami enters the small space. "So, you want me to tuck you in, hm?" She shakes her head disapprovingly at the wineskins. You say "It sounded like a good idea at the time. Am I asking too much?" Macami chuckles. "Well, that depends on how you want to be tucked in..." She still has that curious smile on her lips. Jaegon groans. "Cami, I may really want you, but I think I'd die if I tried anything like that." No pride at the moment; he'll be totally embarassed later. Macami sighs and hugs Jaegon. "Okay, okay, I see. Well, can I take your clothes off at least?" She winks at him. Jaegon chuckles, then winces. "Sure. Just let me drink the cursed remedy first, all right?" He fumbles next to the bed, spilling some of the herbal mix before he chokes the rest down. Macami chuckles as he gulps down the remedy. "Jaegon, have I told you how much I like you?" You say "No. Would you? I could use it right now." Jaegon smiles a little, but the plaintive note in his voice suggests he really means it. Macami walks closer to Jaegon then hugs him. "Of course I do. I like you very much. You sometimes seem like the only sane person at Igen to me." Jaegon leans his head on your shoulder as he hugs you. "Really? What about the other time?" Macami ruffles Jaegon's hair. "What other time?" You say "The times I don't seem sane?" This girl, in her early twenties, has a solemn look about her. She has very dark hair falling down in smooth curls, reaching well over her shoulders, and hanging into her eyes upon her brow. She wears her hair open, and it cascades down in glorious curls. Her eyes are of a very dark brown, reminding you of a puppy. These eyes, for turns looking haunted and forlorn, now shine with a new light, with utter happiness, since she found her lifemate. Her face is quite round, her nose is freckled, and she has full lips, smiling at you. On her shoulder she wears a full rider's knot, the colors yellow and black indicating that she is at Igen Weyr, the brown cord in the middle showing her lifemate's colour. On the ring finger of her right hand she proudly wears a beautiful ring (use +detail). Macami is wearing a sleeveless white blouse. It has a relatively low neckline but doesn't expose too much. The skin she shows of her cleavage and her arms is darkly tanned, from being exposed in Igen's hot sun in endless hours of drills and chores. She wears tight fitting wherhide pants, smudged with oil stains, in a dark brown colour. Her feet are in well-used riding boots. Around her neck she wears a blue scarf. It is blue and looks very warm and soft. Quite unusual to wear something like that in the desert but Macami doesn't seem to mind. Her riding jacket she most often carries casually around over her shoulder, as this is now really too warm to wear at Igen. A patch sewn onto the jacket shows she is riding with Sandstorm Wing.. Macami chuckles. "You almost always seem sane to me, Jae." She kisses his cheeks and ruffles his hair some more. Jaegon makes a low purring noise, letting a bit more of his weight rest on you as he holds you. "You're nice and warm," he comments. Macami hugs him close and chuckles in his ear. "So I've heard before, very cuddly and warm." Jaegon nods. "I'm just gonna stay here a minute, if that's OK with you? It makes my head hurt less." Macami smiles. "I have a better idea. Can we lie down? That would be more comfortable for me." You say "We can try. Does that mean I have to let go?" Macami grins and drags him over to his bed, quickly lying down and pulling him with her. "Now, was that bad?" Jaegon flops, not quite bouncing. The cot is narrow, but it's just wide enough to keep you both from falling off. "Ow. Ow. Whew. OK, that's better." He leans his head on you again, arm around your waist. Macami pulls his head to rest between her breasts and idly runs her fingers through his hair. "Say, did Siara ever talk to you about me?" You say "Only when you were arguing with her, around the time of the Boll gather. Nor recently....mmm....that's nice.." Macami moves a little bit closer against him, her feet rubbing against his. "And did she ever say if she likes me or not?" She kisses his forehead. You say "She likes you fine, she was just hurt you didn't seem to like her." Macami sighs happily. "She likes me. Now that's a start." One of her hands starts sliding down his back, a finger running down his spine. Jaegon arches his back, making a soft mrrring sound. "You can do that all day long, Cami." He nestles in, inhaling your scent. "You smell a little like Tivuketh," he notesabsently. Macami chuckles softly, then starts pulling at his shirt. "Is that bad? I love his smell. I love Tivu. And I love to do this but prefer it on bare skin." Her hand sneaks under the shirt sucessfully, and caresses the back. You say "No, no, smells nice....and that feels great.." Macami starts kissing his ear and then her lips cover his neck with butterfly kisses. Jaegon whimpers softly. "Oh, no fair. Taking advantage of a man when he's down." He's not fighting you, though. Macami works herself into a fever it seems. Her busy lips glide further down to cover his chest with kisses too. Jaegon holds you a little tighter, his breath roughening. Macami rolls on top of him now and smiles at him. "Feeling any better, Jae?" Jaegon turns a little onto his back, relaxing, waiting to be petted. He mmmhmmms sleepily. "Yeah...feeling much.." and his voice trails off into a soft, deep breath. And another. He's fallen asleep. Macami sits up perplexed then chuckles in disbelief. "Well, so much to my creative lovemaking skills." She gently runs her hands through his hair, then gets up, careful not to wake him. A kiss on his forehead and gone she is. Macami leaves the room for Hollerith's ledge.
