Jaegon gets Searched!

The subject line speaks for itself. Enjoy.

Igen Weyr Hatching Grounds - Stands(#228RJa$)
These observation bleachers, hewn from the sandstone which surrounds the
entire cavern, span the length of the western wall of the Igen Weyr
Hatching Grounds. The cavern is of a tremendous size, stretching
something like 10 dragonlengths up to its apex, and having a diameter of
roughly 20 dragonlengths. The walls and roof are of rough stone, with
long spires of lime hanging down. Just out from the bleachers, an opening
gapes to the sky overhead, providing light and air for the dome.
There are stairs at one end leading out towards the Bowl. One may simply
'observe object' to see an object on the sands.

Veet croons, and unsubtly at that.

Raven smiles faintly to Jaegon. "Hi Jae..."

Aliana smiles, "Hello." she continues scratching Veet.

Jaegon wanders into the stands, sweaating. "Soooo much work. Heya all."

Looking over the sands you see...
Igen Weyr Hatching Grounds - Sands(#1045RJQa$)
An immense, vaulting expanse hollowed out of the rock serves as Igen's
hatching cavern; uncannily hot, even the air lies thick and heavy in
one's lungs. The gritty, black sand shifts beneath each burning footstep,
as unsettling as it is uncomfortable, and its dark hue makes it difficult
to discern the subtle changes in its surface.
The arched entry tunnel is wide, leaving enough room for dragons to fly
through it with relative ease, and the tiers of broad ledges provide
space enough for far more than the Weyr's entire complement of dragons.
Igen's galleries huddle against the west wall, raised several meters
above the vast swath of sand below.

Raven smiles. "Whatcha up to, Jae?"

On the Sands,
Nature's Precipice Egg
Harsh edges of earthen brown collide with endless, empty air, a myriad of
indistinct color that forms a veritable cliff of color. Blue-green, wild
and free, tumbles in an unsteady line sheer from top to bottom, ending in
a diaphanous pool of silver-misted green that hazes it as if thrown by a
careless hand. Streaks of glittered gold smudge it, obliterating motley
hues until they reflect blinding sunlight shining through water -- and
refract an iridescent rainbow at cataract's end.

On the Sands,
Desert Mirage Egg
Endless, relentless: the sear of the sun scours the surface of this large
egg, all dun-gold set to glitter by the sparkle of silica and powdered
glass. Undulations of heat cast it into seeming imagery, each a
refraction, a reflection of what is and is not; imagination's fancy
creates a myth, dazzled by the spark of careless scintillations and the
wave of distorted sight. Water dances, lightning gleams, dragons fly --
and the long sand is nothing but rolling dunes, colored gold.

Aliana grins, "Tired??"

Jaegon eases himself into a seat. "You have no idea. Iri does good work,
doesn't she?"

Aliana smiles, "Yes she does."

Raven nods. "Yeah, she does." She sits back, her legs crossed

Jaegon lets his eyes wander over the eggs. "First flight, a queen egg.
Now that's a good omen."

Aliana smiles, "Sure is."

Veet bumps his narrow muzzle up towards Aliana's hand again, encouraging.

Jaegon leans back in his seat. "I lost this wager. Actually both."

Aliana laughs at the flit. "Okay, okay." She scratches Veet's eye ridges
with one hand and rubs his back with the other.

Raven grins. "Which egg ya think be the queens?"

Jaegon points to the golden one with the deeper gold swirls. "Right there."

Double the trouble. Veet arches his back, spinal ridges sliding between
her fingers, and belts out an even louder croon to boot.

Aliana grins, "That's what I thought."
Aliana laughs at Veet and continues scritching and rubbing.

Veet doesn't so much get more subtle as go limp into a pool of sky-blue
hide upon that bench.

Aliana grins at Veet

Raven nods quietly. "Yes... It seems like that would be it."
Raven tilts her head, and then looks at the dullest one, "But I wouldn't
be surprised..."

You say "You wouldn't be surprised if?"

Raven smiles. "See, here's how I see it, If I were a queen, granted I'm
not, I'd let everyone think that the queen egg was something immaculate,
and therefore kind of eleviating any danger from the dullest, ugliest
eggs. I think that if I wanted to protect my queen egg, I'd make it an
ugly shade...."

You say "Fire lizards do it that way. Dragon's don't."

Aliana grins, "Jaegon, is your sweaty smell driving everyone off." She
chuckles a little and hopes he knows that she's just kidding.

Raven shrugs. "Oh well, what do I know."

Jaegon sticks out his tongue at her. "It's honest sweat, at least."

Aliana grins, "I hope noone would even attempt to endanger an egg....it
could get pretty painful." She ;aughs at Jaegon.

Raven doesn't reply.

You say "I don't know why dragons don't do it that way, Raven. They just
don't. Like they don't remember things."

Raven shrugs. "No problem. I just never seen this stuff before."
Raven sighs. She gets up, stretching. "I best be heading back to the
hold, you two. See ya later I'm sure..."
Raven heads out to the Bowl.

You say "Have a nice day, Raven."

Aliana smiles, "Bye..."

Jaegon sighs softly, looking out at the eggs.

Aliana says, "They're beautiful, aren't they."
Aliana totally forgot about Veet! She looks down and scritches him again.

Aellya climbs into the stands.

Aliana smiles at Aellya, "Hello."

Jaegon glances over. "Oh, heya, Aellya! How're you today?" He offers the
greenrider a smile.

Aellya nods at Aliana quietly as she steps forward to the edge of the
sands and sighs softly. "Well, my daughter's dragon really outdid
herself." She says in awe. Then she smiles over at Jaegon. "I'm fine."

Jaegon nods. "A queen egg on the maiden flight. I didn't think Avroth had
it in him. I KNEW Iri did."

Aliana looks confused, "Who's your daughter?"

Aellya observes Jaegon quietly and nods. "Well of course Irianth did. But
Avroth flew her, and it seems that he provided just enough. It helped
that the flight was long." She sighs softly and says, "Jyrith wants a
bath." She grimaces bemusedly. "She says she's all dirty from yesterday,
so I suppose I must give her one. She's just eaten, too, because as you
know, dragons don't eat before they mate."

Jaegon offers "Need some help? I'm sweaty, I could do with a swim." He
glances out over the eggs again, watching Irianth drowse after the
clutching.

Aellya looks a little weary. "Jaegon, I don't suppose you'd mind helping?
I know you know how to do it because you're weyrbred. I could use the
help. I've been busy all morning." Then she glances at Aliana and
replies, "And Faerysa, that gold's rider, is my daughter."

Aliana smiles, "Ahh....I see."

Jaegon nods. "Sure thing, Aellya. Be glad to help." He grins at Aliana.
"Doesn't look old enough to have a queenrider daughter, does she?"

Aliana grins, "Actually, no."

Aellya grins a little at Jaegon, "Now I know you're just being nice." She
chuckles, "But then, with a queenrider for a -mother- you've got to learn
to be eh?" She stands, stretching, bones cracking. "Well, I'm going to
bathe her now, so if you're going to help..."

Jaegon stands up, popping his back. "Ready when you are. If you'll excuse
me, Aliana?"

Aliana smiles, "Of course."

Aellya adds, "Oh, your friend can come too Jaegon, if she likes. Jyrith
may be small, but the more the merrier."

You say "She's been through a flight. The sooner she's clean, the happier
she'll be."

Aliana smiles at Aellya

Aellya nods and says "Well, lets get going then. You can gawk later at
the eggs." With a soft chuckle, she turns and b egins to lead the way.

Jaegon follows Aellya doen the stairs.
Aellya heads out to the Bowl.

You head out to the Bowl.
Weyrling Training Field
The long shadows cast by the tall spires above are matched in this area
of the Bowl by a few long scars in the floor of the Bowl - a silent
testimony to a few miscalculated landings. Overhead, the dragons seem to
fly with increased awareness, perhaps because one never knows when a
weyrling will try a new trick in this area of the Bowl. Enough
groundspace for two full wings of dragons stretches from the walls of the
Bowl, making this a perfect area for practice or drills.
To the north, the walls of the Bowl part to make way for the Igen Weyr
Pass, whereas to the west a glint of water betrays the lake's position.
An opening into the bowl walls to the northeast fairly hums with the
murmurs of young riders in training. Straight east a large opening seems
to almost glow, and the hushed atmosphere surrounding it indicates it is
the entrance to the Weyr's Hatching Grounds. A flurry of activity to the
south points one to the main entrance into the inner Weyr. The center of
the Bowl lies to the southwest.

Aliana comes out from the gaping entrance that leads to the Hatching Grounds.

Jaegon looks at the blood-spattered green in sympathy. "That has GOT to
itch, all that dried on there."

Jyrith turns her head as Aellya emerges. Her head stretches out at the
length of her neck, and her muzzle opens on a soft, welcoming croon. Eyes
whirl with blue and green -- sedate, happy colors. Her tail lashes at the
air as wings rustle restlessly. Aellya says "Jyrith's waiting impaitently
for us." She says with a laugh.

Just overhead, Palineth catches an updraft to glide into the air of the
Bowl.

(Jyrith)
With the onset of spring, new life begins. Flowers bloom, grass
grows, and leaves unfurl from tiny buds. Such is the color of this
diminutive dragon. Her hide is the bright shade of fresh green growing
things, dappled over with flecks of goldenrod, like petals scattered over
a field of grass. Pale flickers of silvered sunlight burnish her supple
throat as it arches up from her deep chest, causing this lighter colour
to blend into the darker one of the rest of her body. Slivers of lapis
send a delicate tracery over her spine and across the sails of her wings,
deepening the yellow-green shade.
Along the leading edge and primary mainsail of her right wing, is
a mass of healed scar-tissue, a lighter shade than the rest of her satiny
hide. She has a criss crossing of thread scars and ash burn, long healed
across her hide -- though a few tend to look newer than others do. She is
a mature green in fighting prime. Though she appears almost fragile in
the delicate lines of her body, she has great physical strength, evident
in the bulge of muscles beneath supple skin. She is 18.3 meters from nose
to tail, with a wingspread of 30 meters wide. She is 23 Turns, 3 months,
and 20 days old.

Abruptly, Jyrith's neck twists, head directed toward Jaegon with almost
alarming intensity. The whirling of her eyes increases in pace, the hues
changing in a rainbow of cool violet, blue and green. With a crooning
trill of excitement, she starts to lurch toward the young man, wings
stretching up and flexing while tail continues to thrash.

Aliana says, "She's beautiful."

Panth warbles?

Jaegon chuckles and steps forward. "Hey, I like you too. I heard you led
them a merry chase last night." He glances at Aellya for permission while
his hand automatically goes up to the sensitive eyeridges for scritching.
"I've never seen your eyes go this color before, what're you thinking?"

Just overhead, Ilmarith catches an updraft to glide into the air of the
Bowl.
Just overhead, Ilmarith beats his wings powerfully.

Aellya begins to turn toward Aliana and say, "Than-- " But she stops and
says "Jyrith?" bemusedly and with an expression of surprise. "Well
Jaegon, you know she's never acted like that toward you before." Her
voice carries a hint of thoughtfullness as she says, slowly, "Could it be
possible?" She turns on the boy-man and studies him curiously and
observantly. A long, drawn out pause and then she says, "Well, Jyrith's
never been wrong." She decides. "Clutch on the sands too. Can only mean
one thing Jaegon." She says leadingly. "And do you know what that is?"
She watches his face.

Aliana laughs, "Now I have witnessed /5/ people get searched today."

Jaegon's face is caught in shadow as Ilmarith passes overhead, but the
shadow isn't so deep you can't see his expression. He takes a deep
breath, squaring his shoulders. "Oh, yes, I do..." he breathes. He takes
another look at Jyrith, scratching those eyeridges. Then his face
blossoms into a smile, green eyes alight. "I do indeed, Wingleader."

Panth warbles at Jyrith

Aellya gives Aliana a tolerant smile and then glances at Jaegon once
more. "Well, good then, Jaegon, I'm glad your mother has an intelligent
lad for a son." She chuckles deeply, looking pleased, "Your mother will
be thrilled." She enthuses, "Why don't you run off and let her know? And,
the Headwoman too. You need to also move your things to a cot in the
barracks for now so you can be with the others," She instructs, "Do you
know what else you're supposed to do?" She asks him.

Panth heads south to the main entrance.

Jaegon nods. "I'll need to talk to Perizad about what he wants me to do
as far as ground crews, and check in with whoever's keeping an eye on the
candidates this clutch...who is it this time?"

Aellya muses in thought, "I am sure Macami is. Siara too perhaps? Maybe?
I'm not sure. Definitely Macami." She nods her head.

Aliana smiles, "Congrats Jaegon."

Jaegon grins. "Oh, she'll just love this, getting to boss me around!" He
doesn't sound upset. No, this isn't breaking his heart at all. "Thanks,
Aellya. Still want me to help with Jyrith, or..?" He hasn't stopped
scritching the green.

Aellya snorts, "Of course candidate. I definitely still want your hep
with Jyrith."

Jyrith has her eyes blissfully half-lidded. A soft thrumming sound
emerges from deep within her chest and vibrates out along her throat.
She's got her tail winded around Jaegon's feet loosely now as she leans
her neck against his body. Her person. Her candidate.

Raven wanders in from the center of the bowl.
Raven growls. She looks around for Aliana.
Raven strides into the Weyrlings Barracks.

Raven walks out from the Weyrling Barracks.
Raven heads towards the lake to the west.

Aliana grins at Raven and looks at Jaegon, "Guess what."

Raven heads over from the beach.
Raven heads into the tunnel to the east, into the Hatching Grounds.
Raven comes out from the gaping entrance that leads to the Hatching
Grounds.

Jaegon takes another deep breath, leaning into Jyrith's dragon-hug. "Then
I guess we better not keep her waiting! That is, of course, if she's
going to let me go. Which she may not."
Raven heads south to the main entrance.

Raven comes along from the field outside the main entrance to the south.
Raven pounces on Aliana, laughing. "I found you!"

Aliana grins at Raven, "A little indecicive??"

Aliana grins at Raven then gestures towards Jaegon. She whispers to
Raven.

Raven blushes.

Ciarra mutters to Raven"...congratulate him........"

Raven smiles at Jaegon and slaps him on the back. "Congratulations you
old goat!"

Jaegon doesn't even wince at the smack. "Yeah! Thanks!" His scritches are
flaking off some of the dirt and dried-on material on Jyrith's hide,
which can't help but make the dragon even happier than she already seems
to be. "Thanks a lot.."

Aliana grins at Jyrith, "She's dirty..."

Aellya nods and says "If you hurry Jaegon, you can meet us back at the
Lake, I'll wait for you."

Jyrith does indeed look happier, but that could be in part that she's
Searched Jaegon. She reluctantly moves her tail out of the way and nudges
Jaegon in the side with her snout.

Jaegon nods, and starts gently disentagling himself from Jyrith. "I'll
see you in a minute, I promise." And he sets off at a dead run..not a
jog..toward the main caverns.

You stride towards the center of the Bowl.
Center of the Igen Weyr Bowl(#802RJe)
You are standing in the middle of the Igen Weyr Bowl. The views are
certainly spectacular. The dark volcanic peaks of the caldera which
houses the Weyr rise up all around, weather beaten yet still firm, except
at the northeasternmost section of the bowl, where the sheer cliffs that
surround you break, leaving a jagged and imposing pass. At different
times of the day these peaks cast long shadows across the bowl. Light
glints off the lake to the northwest, and the heat makes the air around
you seem to shimmer as you gaze over the flat ground.
The lake lies to the northwest, and to the northeast you can see a large
training field, and beyond it, the Hatching Grounds and the weyrling
barracks. Southeastwards lies the main entrance to the inner sections of
the Weyr. A grazing ground lies to the southwest.

Field outside the Main Entrance
Activity surrounds you as you gaze over the road which runs beneath the
huge cliffs which form the southeastern section of the Igen Weyr Bowl.
The wall opens here in three places... the middle one seems the most busy
although the northernmost one is the largest. The ground under your feet
is solid and rocky, and in the brightest sun it glares uncomfortably.
To the north the road continues, winding its way past the hatching
grounds and barracks to eventually leave the bowl. Cutting across the bowl
to the northwest brings you to the center of the bowl. To the west lies a
green field full of beasts- the Weyr's feeding grounds. The infirmary
weyr opens to the northeast, and the living caverns to the east.

J'es says "I wonder who will lead the ground teams now"

You head into the Igen Weyr Living Cavern.
Igen Weyr Living Cavern(#600RJMQ)
Igen's living cavern is an immense hollow in the volcanic caldera,
stretching up two stories, the light of the glows and the hearth
reflected in the quartz which peppers the swirled sandstone unique to
this region. One hundred feet wide and one hundred and fifty feet long,
the room could, and, as the social center of the weyr, often does, seat
the entire weyr. Tapestries adorn the walls, depicting scenes from Pern's
past. The head table sits upon a raised platform at the far eastern side
of the room, in front of a huge fireplace which is continually burning.
A wide balcony overlooks the cavern, and large tunnels lead west out to
the bowl, and south to the kitchens. A smaller tunnel leads off to the
east, beyond which lay the inner caverns of the Weyr. A small doorway in
the northern wall opens to the infirmary, and a quiet door to the
northeast opens into the Records Room. In the corner one may +view a
plaque.
Tables fill a good portion of the room. One can '+view' them at a glance,
or get '+help places'.

Eternity chirps excitedly.

You say "I need to see her. I have to tell he I'll be moving into the

Dwyn blinks, "What? You got Searched?"

Jaegon nods, grinning hugely. You may never have seen him so happy.
"Maybe THIS time...look, Aellya told me as my first duty I need to help
her bathe Jyrith. If you see Cami, tell her I'm at the lake?"

Dwyn smiles, "Congrats! Sure, I'll tell her."
Dwyn smiles, "Need a hand?"

You say "If you want. Jyrith is kind of messy."

Dwyn grins, "I've never done it before, so it doesn't make any difference
to me."

Jaegon is actually almost shaking. "I've never had a dragon look at me
that way before..Jyrith's known me all my life, and I've never seen that
look on her or that color in her eyes!"

Dwyn blinks, "You've never been Searched before?"

You say "Oh, I've been asked to stand. Four times, in fact. But never
because a dragon decided she liked me..I need to meet Aellya at the
beach. Coming?"

Celebanna ambles out from the inner caverns.

Jaegon is already starting to make his way back to the cavern entrance.

Celebanna comes in a bit quickly, in swim wear, of course, "Hello Dwyn,
Jaegon..."

Jaegon waves, grinning ear t ear. "Listen, can't keep Jyrith waitig, I'll
see you at the beach if you come." And he takes off at a jog.

Main Beach(#786RJ)
This is one of the most popular sections of the Igen Bowl, and the reason
can't really be mistaken. The lake to the north provides a refreshing
change from the heat that characterizes the climate of this area. A small
beach of pumice sand runs along the shore here, making it a nice spot to
relax. The waters of the lake are a deep blue, reflecting perfectly the
sheer cliffs to the north.
The lake looks inviting, and a smaller beach to the north provides a more
isolated spot. Eastwards a large field leads towards a pass out of the
Weyr, and heading southeast takes you across the center of the bowl. To
the south lies the corral.

Lake Northern Beach Center of Bowl East South

Aliana waves to Jaegon, "Hello."

Aellya twists her legs to one side of Jyrith's neck before sliding down
to her raised foreleg and then deftly climbing off of her.

In the water, Kyliven bounces in the water. "My name's Kyliven. Hi."

Aliana grins, "Well met Kyliven."

Jaegon jogs back in, and starts stripping off his shirt, skin underneath
bronzed from his life at the desert Weyr.

Aellya turns toward Jaegon as he approaches, "Jaegon, you know the little
niche/shed where the washing brushes are kept, right?"

Jaegon nods. "I'll get..what, three?"

Aellya nods and replies "Three'll do." She agrees as the green gingerly
enters the sun warmed lake water.

Aliana frowns, "I don't happen to have any swim wear with me. I should
have thought of that."

In the water, Kyliven looks over at Catalina, then towards the rider. "Do
you need our help, ma'am?" she asks carefully.

Jaegon jogs across the sand and rummages around the shed until he finds
three with decent bristles. He makes his way back across, and hands
Aliana one, then Aellya.

Aliana smiles at Jaegon, "Thank you."

Aellya takes the brush and turns to say, "Well, Aliana, thats alright.
You can strip down to your underclothes. You wearing a chemise or
anything? It'll cover you enough for modesty's sake."
Aellya adds, "Or, just get your clothing wet."

Aliana grins, "It's hot enough. I'm sure my clothes will dry soon after.
I'll just wear this then."

Jaegon kneels and rolls up the bottoms of the loose pants he wears.
"SOmetimes wet clothes feel good in this heat."

Aellya nods and says "Sounds fine to me. I'm wearing mine too, these are
my work clothes anyhow." She touches the old tunic and breeches." Then
she approaches Jyrith, whom is lounging within the gently lapping
wavelets of the shallows. "Careful round her wings, but you know that
Jaegon."

Jaegon nods. "Don't want to scratch the wingsail." He wades in, dipping
his brush in the water. "Ahhh...this feels good. Not too cold, not to
warm today. This summer, it felt almost as hot as the air half the time."

In the water, Kyliven gives a quick sigh of relief, since it doesn't look
like she's going to be drafted into helping the greenrider. Hopping
backwards in the water, she watches the scrubbing with interest.

Aliana steps into the water. "It /does/ feel good."

Aellya wades in as well, brush dipping into the water and then coming
back up to scrub over the small green's yellow-green hide. Jyrith, lucky
dragon that she is, croons deeply as she stretches out. Several
firelizards, presumeably seeing to Aellya, pop in, squawking, and treat
Jyrith like the queen she isn't. They start grooming her headknobs and
neck with little tonguelicks as they perch all over her.

Aliana dips her brush in the water and hesitantly and carefully scrubs
the dragon's hide. She stays well enough away from the wings.

IGEN-> J'es can imagine Celebanna whispering to Lyndra, "Just keep
walking, it'll be okay, just keep walking"

Jaegon scoops water in one hand and dribbles it down Jyrith's flank,
watching it bead in places on the yellow-green. He applies his brush
firmly but not roughly to the wet patches, balancing himself with his
free hand on the curve of her body.

Lyndra ambles over from the center of the bowl.

Celebanna ambles over from the center of the bowl.
Celebanna ambles up, following Lyndra, sort of.

Aliana smiles as she notices Lyndra and Celebanna, "Hello." she says.

"Hello," Lyndra answers quietly and equitably, looking toward the water
with consideration. "Swimming sounds very good right now..."

Aellya grins as she notes loudly to hear her voice over the sounds of
splashing and dragon-crooning. "Luckily, Jyrith's small, not as much to
clean. I've got some things I have to see to today." She wields the brush
with a will, quickly scrubbing delicate hide and washing away dust, blood
and grime.

Celebanna nods, and peeks, "Dragon scrubbing?" she asks.

In the water, Kyliven goes out onto the sand, spraying water.
Kyliven comes out from the lake, spraying water.
Kyliven wades back to the shallows, waving shyly at Anna and Lyndra. "Hi,
Lyndra. I got Searched, too..."

Jaegon glances up and waves to Lyndra, splashing more water over Jyrith
to wash away the grime he's already worked loose. He makes his way slowly
up her flank toward the wings, easing the firmess of his scrubbing as he
reaches the fragile sail.

Lyndra says gently, "I know...and I'm very glad!" Then she waves to
Jaegon.

Aliana quietly washes off some of the grime with her brush.

Kyliven smiles, then, and moves out of the water, towards the other
girls. "Are they still bringing people in? A bronzerider came in with a
girl and a boy while I was getting into my swimsuit!"

Jaegon's Menev appears, caroling happily, and scoops up sand in his
little paws, dribbling it down Jyrith's back ridges and then settling
down with it to help out. His eyes are VERY blue, and whirling at a high
rate of speed as he catches Jae's excitement and happiness.

Aellya takes considerable time washing Jyrith down, and then steps back
to observe how well she's done so far. "Jaegon, Aliana, you two about
done there?" She asks, "I hate to rush.. I've just got to run all over
Pern today."

Jaegon nods, making his way toward the wingtip. "Just a bit more on this
side, and she'll look as lovely as...as normal."

Aliana stands back, "My little spots done."

Aellya nods as she waits -- and Jyrith waits too, paitently, blissful as
she's scrubbed.

Jaegon splashes more water up and over the wings. "Anywhere itch still,
Jyrith? Did I miss anything?"

Jyrith turns her head and croons at Jaegon softly, Aellya saying at the
same time, "Jyrith's thanking you Jaegon, And you too Aliana. Goahead
Jyrith, rinse yourself good." The dragon swims from the shore, heading
into the deeper portion of the lake before coming back out, dripping and
shimmery green and gold.

Aliana smiles, "Now she really /is/ beautiful."

Menev darts up and around to land on Jaegon's shoulder, brown tail
twining around his neck and one wing tangling in the shaggy hair.

Aellya nods and says gently, "That she is." Affection, still strong and
sure gazes from stormy eyes and into dragonish blue. "Come Jyrith, we've
got to head up to the weyr first before flying all the way to the other
side of the continent for some Harp strings."

You say "You're welcome, Jyrith. VERY welcome." The guy's still beaming.
"Clear skies, Wingleader, Jyrith."

Aliana smiles, "Goodbye."

Kyliven waves. "Clear skies, Wingleader." She admires the clean green for
a moment.

Lyndra senses "Jaegon hasn't been this openly happy since he and Gordeeva
got together. He's got the same glow now as he did that day."

Jaegon bacs away from the green to give her wingroom.

Lyndra excuses herself quietly and heads back to the weyr.

Aellya turns and smiles "Thanks for the help.. both of you." She looks at
Jaegon and Aliana significantly before hopping up on Jyrith's back. "See
you all later."

Lyndra leaves the beach, heading for the center of the Bowl.

Aliana smiles, "Bye.

Aellya mounts Jyrith's proffered foreleg before pulling herself up toward
the neck with the riding straps. She swings up into the saddle affixed to
the higher part of the neck with ease born from years of experience. She
pats the green's neck affectionately.

Jyrith leaps into the air, spraying sand all over!

Aliana smiles, "I'm going further in."
Aliana runs into the water with a splash!
In the water, Aliana runs into the lake with a wide-arching splash!

Jaegon makes his way out of the water, holding out his hand for the brush
as Aliana passes him.

Celebanna grins to Lyndra, "We should get in, huh?"

In the water, Aliana swims to the shore and hands him the brush. "Thanks."
In the water, Aliana grins "You guys should come in. It's nice."

Jaegon takes the brushes back and tucks them away in the shed, before
putting his shirt back on. "Have to tell Lyria.." he mutters to himself.
Menev takes off as the shirt comes up, scolding. "Sorry, boyo! Didn't
mean to unsettle you."

Kyliven cocks her head up, following the green's flight. "Isn't she the
one who was proddy the other day?"

Jaegon nods to Kyliven. "She sure was."

Celebanna nods, "Yup!"

Jaegon ties up the lacings on his shirt and waves to everyone. "See you
later!" And he jogs off happily, Menev following him.

(Travel snipped)

J'es says "I thought you were swimming"
J'es smiles

Jaegon starts to jog past, pants soaked but drying quckly in the heat,
sunhat flapping against his back. His lizard circles behind him, then
goes between. He stops. "No, I was helping Aellya wash Jyrith. My first
job as a candidate." He beams. "Heya, Panth."

Panth warbles back as if also saying Heya

J'es says "Well, good for you :)"

Jaegon nods, taking in a deep breath. You've known the young man all his
life, but you may never have seen him this happy. "I have to check in
with Lyria, and try to find Perizad so we're sure the ground crews are
well-covered. I have to move my things to the barracks. I have to do a
score of things, and I'm so happy I don't know what to do first."

(Panth)
Panth's hide is an unusually dark, midnight blue. His deep blue, whirling
eyes reveal great intelligence, and with time will be filled with wisdom.
His young muscles and dusky hide are well toned and radiate health. He is
28 metres long, average for a blue of 125 turns and 3 months, but his
46.6 meter wingspan and powerful wing-muscles serve him well now that he
is able to fly.
He has bonded with his lifemate J'es of Igen Weyr.

J'es says "One thing at a time Jaegon, one thing at a time.. go on then!"

Jaegon pauses long enough to salute. "Clear skies, J'es, Panth!"

Kiyana walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern.

J'es says "Hello"

Jaegon waves to Kiyana, grinning hugely.

Kiyana waves as she ghosts out of the Living Cavern. " H'llo," she greets.

J'es says "So many new faces"

Kiyana gives a quirky smile. " An' I'll bet you'll see more as the weeks
go on," she replies with a chuckle. " Kiyana, newly kid- er- Searched out
of the Herder Hall."

Jaegon nods to J'es, and turns to Kiyana. "Heya, then. Jaegon, resident
of Igen Weyr and now candidate." That reminds him, he needs to thread
white into his knot! Another thing to do.

J'es says "A Herder eh, That's good"

Kiyana needs a knot, period. " Y'sir. One of three, actually." She nods
to Jaegon with a murmured 'well met'.

J'es says "Sir?"

Jaegon grins. "If you'll excuse me, ma'am, I better get on that stuff I
have to do."

J'es says "Very well"

Jaegon snaps off another salute, grins at Kiyana. "See you in the
barracks!" He sets off into the living cavern at a jog.

You head into the Igen Weyr Living Cavern.

Eternity chirps

Jaegon grins at the flit. He's just grinning at everyone today.

Eternity croons at Jaegon. This humanthing special...

Jaegon grabs holds of Meganna as she passes, carrying a glowbasket. He
gives her a sound smooch on the cheek and whispers in her ear.

Arthan ambles out from the inner caverns.
Arthan nods amibaly on his way out.
Arthan walks out to the Bowl.

Jaegon nods to Meganna. She laughs and pushes him away playfully. "Oh-ho,
you're a candidate now..does that mean I get to give you orders when you
work in the kitchens?" Her eyes sparkle with the humor the weyrbred save
for candidates. Jae sighs deeply in mock-worry but nods, his own eyes
bright.

K'tel comes in, whistling cheerfully, "Afternoon, Dwyn!" He heads over to
the food as usual.
K'tel sees Jaegon and gives a wave.

Jaegon comes back out from the inner caverns. He snaps a salute to K'tel.

K'tel, in the process of picking up a meatroll, pauses and peers at
Jaegon curiously, "That's a new one. What's with you today?"

Jaegon grins. "I have to salute and call you sir now, sir." He holds up
his knot and a long white thread. "Let me know if you need anything, I'll
just be winding this into my knot."

K'tel laughs, "Good. Perhaps you'll impress this time. And since when
does this mean you have to salute and call me sir? I don't remember that
being a candidate rule."

You say "You weren't weyrleader before, and I have to set a good example
for the others coming in, right?"

Jaegon's knot is quickly finished, the white standing out against the
black.

K'tel wrinkles up his face, "Jae! I have to look dignified when the
candies come in. If you're calling me sir all the time, I'm liable to not
be able to keep a straight face!"

Jaegon grins. "I'll try to keep that in mind, really I will." His eyes
sparkle exuberantly. "Have you seen Perizad or Lyria, then?"

K'tel shakes his head, "Should I?" He takes a bite of the meatroll.

You say "I have to meet with them about the ground crews. I won't be able
to help lead them if I have candidate duties."

K'tel nods, "Oh. Good point." He collects another meatroll and some
juice, walking over to sit down. He waves to Deeva with a meatroll,
"Heya!"

Gordeeva slips in quietly. "Evening." she smiles. "Hello K'tel."

Jaegon looks up as he's pinning his knot back on and beams. "Deeva! Did
you hear?"

Dwyn looks up and blinks, "Hi folks."

Gordeeva looks up and shakes her head. "Forgive me dear...I've been in
the din of the Nursery all day. What did I miss?"

Jaegon taps his knot, the white thread prominent. "Jyrith all but wound
herself aroud me."

K'tel chuckles at the mention of Jyrith, "Mmm."

Kiyana comes in from the Bowl.

Gordeeva absolutely beams. "Oh Jae!!!" She says, and that seems to say it
all. She hugs him warmly and whispers something softly to him

Kiyana strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns.

Dwyn rises to her feet, "Well time to get back to work."
Dwyn strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns.

Jaegon nods to Deeva and kisses her, slowly and lingeringly. Not quite
enough to scandalize anyone, but definitely getting close to the line.

K'tel raises a brow then takes a long drink of juice, "Good time for them
to start arriving."

Jaegon releases Deeva after a moment, and says softly "You don't mind
having to move back to the dorms, do you?"

Gordeeva blushes and smiles happily. She steps away after a moment and
looks at K'tel. "Who should be arriving?" she asks

K'tel smiles, "The candidates."

Gordeeva smiles gently. "Of course...It is no trouble." she blushes at
K'tel and murmurs her apologies. "Of course...how silly of me. Have any
come already?"

Jaegon nods. "How many do you plan on bringing in, K'tel?"

K'tel shrugs at Jaegon, "Let me see...What was it? 31 eggs? So..." He
thinks for a moment, "Oh, I'd say 60 max. We want some choice but not too
much. It depends on how many the dragons find this time."

Gordeeva pales. "Sixty newcomers..." she repeats softly, a slim hand at
her throat.

Jaegon nods. "That sounds good..Deeva, don't forget, some of those
Seached already live here. Like me?"

K'tel nods to Deeva, "They won't all be new."

Gordeeva nods and slips her hand into Jaegon's. "I'm sorry...It just
sounds like so many /new/ people. If some are from here, it may not be
quite as overwhelming.

Catalina comes in from the Bowl.

Gordeeva gives his hand a squeeze and moves away to the food table.
"Hello Catalina"

You say "Celebanna is one, I saw. And I think a few others."

Everin comes in from the Bowl.
Everin mutters in Catalina's wake, "I was here on an errand, and we
discussed snow, I believe. I hope I can see Arthan again--"

Gordeeva shyly greets the newcomer, seeing the candidates knot.
"Evening."

Catalina waves at everyone, Everin close behind her. "Everin here just
got Searched, it seems. Everin, I don't know if you've met him, but this
is our Weyrleader, K'tel..and that's Jaegon and Gordeeva."

K'tel blinks and looks over. He smiles, "Well met, Everin. And welcome to
Igen."

Arthan comes in from the Bowl.

Jaegon waves. "Well met, Everin!" He grins at K'tel. "Seems like the
Search dragons are honed to a fine edge."

Catalina laughs. "And there's Arthan."
Catalina grins over at Arthan. "Everin's been lookin' for ya, Arthan. I'm
supposed to get him situated in the barracks though..."

Arthan blushes at Catalina. "Afternoon, everyone." He goes help himself
to some klah, recognizing Everin in passing. "Hello again."

Everin's stride hitches. "--Sir. Thank you. And well met to you, Jaegon
and ... Gordeeva? --Arthan?" He turns, blinks, looks. "Arthan! We need to
talk about archives. Sometime."

K'tel chuckles, nodding ruefully to Jaegon, "Doesn't take them long at
all."

Arthan pauses. "Barracks? Everin? Oh!" He smiles to the other.
"Congratulations! Well, if you find time, I'd still like to have that
conversation. Though perhaps you'll not be as interested, now?"

Catalina chuckles to herself and grins over her shoulder at the newest
Candidate. "Come on Everin, I don't have a reputation for patience."

Gordeeva smiles shyly and seems to try to back into the shadows of the
room a bit, taking her meal and sitting down at a table.

Everin is swift to dispute, "I'm /very/ interested -- oh, excuse me,
please. Yes, I'm coming, Catalina. Sorry."

Catalina strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns.

Everin strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns.

Jaegon glances at K'tel. "Will you need me for anything right now, sir?"
For some reason he winks.

Arthan looks thoughtful as he continues over to the klah.

K'tel grins and waves a hand, "Nope. But if I think of anything..." He
leaves the teasing threat hanging.

You say "I'll be right over here." He points to Deeva's general location.
"Just yell."

Jaegon sits down by Deeva, putting one hand on her back.

Gordeeva smiles at Jaegon and asks. "Have you already moved down to the
barracks?"

Arthan manages by some slip of hand to drop the mug on the floor, where
it shatters. He starts, then mutters under his breath as he quickly
kneels to pick up the pieces.

K'tel jumps and looks over at the noise, frowning, "You okay, Arthan?"

Arthan blushes faintly, and says quickly. "Yes, sir. Sorry. Mind was
wandering. I'll, um, find something to wipe this up with..." He heads for
the kitchen, hands full of shards.

Jaegon nods to Deeva. "Do you mind?" Silly question.

K'tel shakes his head, "Okay." He ahs and pulls a hide out of his jacket,
unrolling it then peering at it.

Arthan wanders into the Weyr's kitchens.

Gordeeva laughs softly. "I don't think you are given a choice. No I do
not mind. I wanted to know if you needed my help."

You say "I've already moved down there. Do you mind moving back into the
dorms?"

Gordeeva says "You already asked me ...and no of course I do not.""

Jaegon kisses Deeva's hand.

K'tel glances outside then jumps up, taking hide with him. He waves
cheerily, "Bye!"

Jaegon waves to K'tel. "Bye..sir!"

K'tel walks out to the Bowl.

Gordeeva blushes and waves goodbye to K'tel, not able to speak in her
embarrasment.

Celebanna comes in from the Bowl.
Celebanna comes in, a uick cursory glance about, frowning as she doesn't
seem to spot who's she looking for, she asks, "Hey, Jaegon, Deeva. Seen
Catalina?"

Gordeeva smiles as she recovers her voice. "Just a moment ago..but she
has since gone." she replies

Gordeeva smiles. She mutters to Jaegon, "Could you take... to see the
eggs?... not..."
You sense Gordeeva smiles. "Could you take me to see the eggs? I've not
gotten to see them yet."

Jaegon mutters to Gordeeva, "... some... with you..."
You whisper "In a bit? I want to spend some time with you first.." to
Gordeeva.

Celebanna sighs slowly, and heads for the inner caverns.
Celebanna strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns.

Gordeeva nods with a smile and slips her hand back in to his, her eyes
shining. "So tell me about how you were searched."

You say "Aellyaasked my help in bathing Jyrith. Of course I said
yes..next thing I knew, Jyrith was coiled around me like a firelizard's
tail!"

Gordeeva smiles. "Did she tell you why or did you know?"

You say "She just decided I was right for everything."

Gordeeva smiles. "I am so glad you are a candidate again. Now you can let
all the past times go...I..I am so happy."

Jaegon nods and hugs Deeva. Then Meganna beckons. "Oh, CANDIDATE! I need
help in the cold room!" He rolls his eyes and grins. "I need to help her,
love."

Gordeeva nods and slips away quietly as he goes to his tasks
