Linneth Rises!

It was so much fun to play this, I'm almost sorry it's over. And I really, really, really wish I hadn't had to choose a winner! It was one of the hardest decisions in my online life.

Linneth circles, surveying the weyr, then abruptly banks downward.

You carefully wing lower into the Bowl.

You fly carefully towards the main entrance, then land.

Linneth lands without her characteristic grace, rumbling in annoyance.
J'on leans forward to give her a hug before unstrapping and sliding
down.

You dismount Linneth, who crouches to minimize the drop.
Field outside the Main Entrance
Activity surrounds you as you gaze over the road which runs beneath the
huge cliffs which form the southeastern section of the Igen Weyr Bowl.
The wall opens here in three places... the middle one seems the most busy
although the northernmost one is the largest. The ground under your feet
is solid and rocky, and in the brightest sun it glares uncomfortably.
To the north the road continues, winding its way past the hatching
grounds and barracks to eventually leave the bowl. Cutting across the
bowl to the northwest brings you to the center of the bowl. To the west
lies a green field full of beasts- the Weyr's feeding grounds. The
infirmary weyr opens to the northeast, and the living caverns to the
east.

J'on(#5193POce$)

J'on is a young man, well-built and a little on the tall side
of normal. He has strong shoulders and capable hands. His hair looks
light brown in the shade, but when he emerges into Igen's bright
sunshine it seems to come ablaze with red highlights. It's damp at the
moment. He wears very loose, comfortable clothes in a light tan.
They're rumpled right now, as if he tried to sleep in them and failed.
His knot is Igen's black and gold, with a bright green thread running
through it. He also wears the patch of Igen's Sandstorm wing. His
deep, startlingly emerald eyes now look slightly bruised from lack of
sleep, and his expression is distracted and confused. How he manages
to smile so blissfully, as if he has not a care in the world, is a
mystery given the way he looks.. He has 24 Turns, 2 months, and 15
days on him now.

Linneth(#13222apqs)

The gentle, verdant green of a field of tall grasses, she is
delicately boned and just as limber. She ripples with the colors the
wind creates: frosted-mint flashes of sunlight against a blade of
grass, and the deep-hued darkness of shadow without light, all
dappling the fragile expanse of her frame; illumination serves to
deepen the patterns that play across her hide, bringing them life and
rich color -- a brilliant emerald's inner fire kindled from without.
Every movement she makes is flowing but complete, and the incline of
her head allows maximum visibility for an astute view of all she might
survey, while that intent scarlet gaze provides the window to a soul
of steady and indulgent determination.
At the moment, the green is accentuated. Rather like a jewel
held to the light, every aspect of her color is intensified. Her
movements are more abrupt than is perhaps normal for her, and there
is a deep tinge of red to her eyes.

Kiryath rouses from the sun-warmed wallow he'd hollowed out for
himself in the sand of the bowl and offers up a dancing croon to
those dragons just landing, the warmest note in his tone saved for the
arriving green.

J'on pats Linneth. "I'll only be a moment, lovey, I promise." The
green doesn't seem greatly mollified, settling to the sand with
indignation in her every movement.

Dragon> Linneth bespoke J'on with << Fine. YOU go eat. I'LL stay out
here, alone. >>

Idrelth watches Linneth quietly, giving a soft rumble of greeting to
the green. Or is it a soothing rumble? He settles down comfortably,
keeping an eye on her glowing hide.

Eosith perks up as Linneth lands, his normal blat muted and much softer
in tone.

Laurene eyes the green, then eyes Idrelth. Finally, she heads towards
the living caverns.

Linneth hisses at the world in general, and anyone who gets closer
than half a length in specific.

J'on puts his hands on his hips. "You needen't..ahwell. I'm hungry."
He turns and runs into the living cavern.
You head into the Igen Weyr Living Cavern.

Igen Weyr Living Cavern(#600RJMQ)
Igen's living cavern is an immense hollow in the volcanic caldera,
stretching up two stories, the light of the glows and the hearth
reflected in the quartz which peppers the swirled sandstone unique to
this region. One hundred feet wide and one hundred and fifty feet long,
the room could, and, as the social center of the weyr, often does, seat
the entire weyr. Tapestries adorn the walls, depicting scenes from Pern's
past. The head table sits upon a raised platform at the far eastern side
of the room, in front of a huge fireplace which is continually burning.
A wide balcony overlooks the cavern, and large tunnels lead west out to
the bowl, and south to the kitchens. A smaller tunnel leads off to the
east, beyond which lay the inner caverns of the Weyr. A small doorway
in the northern wall opens to the infirmary, and a quiet door to the
northeast opens into the Records Room. In the corner one may +view a
plaque.
Tables fill a good portion of the room. One can '+view' them at a
glance, or get '+help places'.

Linneth> Kiryath lifts and arcs into a warm rippling stretch, flexing
wings out from his body before almost primly retucking them into place.
Cranky or not, he takes up his rightful position a small distance from
the green, emitting another soft croon as he falls into worship-from-
afar mode.

Linneth> Laurene heads through the main entrance, into the Weyr's
Living Cavern.
Laurene comes in from the Bowl.

Tierigal frowns curiously at Macami, and cocks his head to one side.
"Try? You mean the stew? So...it's not as good as the old recipe,
then." He shrugs. "That's fine. I think I like my old masterpiece
better, too." The baker waves to Laurene and J'on.

Laurene lags behind J'on a few steps, entering the living caverns.
She nods to Tierigal, then finds a smile for Macami.

Linneth> Idrelth keeps his distance. A warm, steady presence not too
far away, but not too close.

Linneth> Eosith crouches, unmoving, and stares at Linneth, his small
form held taut and tense. Only the tip of his tail flicks, thumping
against the floor of the Bowl and sending up small poofs of dust.

J'on runs into the cavern at full speed.

Kyliven comes down the stairway.

Deannus tosses the redfruit core into a bin carried by by a passing
drudge, waving to those entering the cavern with somewhat muted
cheerfulness. "Gettin' crowded, I...um..." Her eyes drift towards
the bowl. "Maybe not."

Macami rolls her eyes. "Shards, no, Tierigal, I wanted to try to find
out your old recipe. The new one is much better." She turns her head
as she hears steps and then flashes Laurene her most radiant smile.
"Laurie! Love, did you ever meet my best friend Deannus?"

J'on runs past everyone and right to the meal table.

Laurene's gaze flickers to Kyli, wary of the other day's mood. She
smiles to Macami, "I believe that I have, though I'm not sure we were
ever properly introduced."

Kyliven trots down the stairs, a small hide tucked into her belt.
"Hey, everyone!" she calls as she also makes her way for the meal
table, reaching for cookies and redfruit juice.

Dragon> Linneth bespoke J'on with << No, DON'T rush. I'm not going
back to my weyr now. *I* am going to take a nap. >>

Tierigal ahhs, and can't help but frown slightly, "So, you didn't like
the old recipe? I thought everyone liked that stuff! Even Craftmaster
Ofira said it was good, and she doesn't like -anything-. Especially
me."

Deannus's eyes skim back to J'on, gaze holding more of a judging shade
than one of idle interest. "Nah," she murmers to herself, turning back
to the occupation of sipping juice and listening to conversation.

Laurene makes her way over, murmuring something to Macami when she's
close enough.

J'on turns and yells at the bowl. "Well..well FINE. I WON'T hurry,
then. Take a nap, you'll be better for it." He's not caring who else
hears, apparently. Then he takes a deep breath and counts to ten, out
loud.

Laurene mutters to Macami, "... you..."

Dragon> Linneth senses that Idrelth's mindvoice is soothing tones of
blue. << Rest, lovely one. It will make your hide all the more
stunning. >>

Kyliven glances sidelong at J'on with a half-grin. "Linneth being
cranky? Come sit with me, J'on?"

Linneth> Linneth hisses at Idrelth, then tucks her head under her wing
so she won't notice all the idiotic males WATCHING her.

Then again...Dea sneaks a tiny glance over at the greenrider again.
"Don't hurry, J'on. Sit down," she advises before trailing off into
silence, flashing a grin at Kyliven.

Macami blinks at J'on's yells. "Oh. Can't be much longer, Laurie." She
watches J'on curiously, with renewed interest, then turns back to
Deannus and Laurene. "Dea, meet Laurene, my weyrmate, Laurie, this is
Deannus, Kiryath's rider and another proof that brownriders are best."

Linneth> Kineth lands carefully.

Laurene chuckles, "Well met, Deannus." She holds out her hand.

Linneth> Ranth lands carefully.

Linneth> Kineth lands easily, looking about him with that level, mild
curiousity he often shows.

J'on opens his eyes and a smile blooms. "So glad to know SOME people
are in good moods!" He grabs a cup and plate and bounces over, seeming
to completely forget food.

Linneth> Ranth skims down, bugling greetings.

Deannus lays her hand over Laurene's and smiles warmly, "Well met,
Laurie. I've heard alot about you." She chuckles, and glances over at
J'on, "Fort's duties." A little belated, and probably useless, but
formalities are formalities.

Kyliven hrms, a bit bemused, and follows J'on. He was /supposed/ to
follow her, but hey, she's flexible. "Forget something, J'on?"

Linneth> Linneth is hiding her head under her wing, grumpiness
fairly radiating from her like heat off the sand.

You say "Me? No, I got dressed. Why, Kyli? Igen's duties, Dealove!"

Linneth> Ranth croons softly in Linneth's direction, but stays well
back.

Linneth> Kineth can do grumpy, well deal with it...he was Amylith's
guide in the wing for long enough. The green gets a level look, the
blue hiding his admiration as well as he can.

Tierigal stands up suddenly as a drudge whispers something in his
ear. "Shards! They're burning the bread -again-?" The baker dashes
off into the kitchen.

Linneth> Idrelth is unmoved by her grumpiness. It all has a purpose.

Linneth> The Fortian brown's maw opens in a gaping yawn, his manner
entirely too casual to allow for the tension shown in some of the
younger males. Just because Linneth is being cranky and ignoring the
fact she has a whole slew of admirers, including his own handsome
self, doesn't mean he's not going to stop watching her.

Laurene takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "I admit, I hope
it's soon. The tension is going to kill me."

Linneth> Elen ambles in from the northern part of the bowl.

Linneth> Siara walks over from the center of the bowl.

Kyliven blinkas at J'on, but slides into a nearby chair. Not gonna make
the mistake of letting this one get away, nope. "Not your /clothes/,
you wherryhead! The /food/! What you came in here for, remember?" She
waves a cookie-carrying hand backwards at the meal table.

Linneth> Siara follows Elen into the field, still arguing. "But if we
didn't /sit/ on them..."

Linneth> Elen sees Siara is behind ehr and keeps up the banter. "I
still say I am right...jewels would hurt!" She frowns. "So, what do
you do with them?"

Deannus advises, "Just relax. It'll happen. No use frettin' about it
till then." A small happy smile is directed at J'on before she brings
the juice up for another sip.

You say "Oh, that. Well, I'm not in any hurry now. But thanks for
caring, Kyli dear, you're such a love!" He grabs her hand and kisses
it. "I'm so glad to have friends like all of you!"

Kyliven blinks again and grins to herself. "Thank /you/, J'on. Want a
cookie?" She offers one to the proddy greenrider with a giggle.

Laurene smiles, admitting quietly to Deannus and Macami, "Given the
problems J'on and I have had in the past, I was surprised to find
Idrelth with such an interest in Linneth."

Linneth> Siara heads through the main entrance, into the Weyr's Living
Cavern.
Siara comes in from the Bowl.
Siara has arrived.

Linneth> Elen heads through the main entrance, into the Weyr's Living
Cavern.
Elen comes in from the Bowl.

Macami smiles at J'on and chuckles, then gives Laurene a reassuring
hug. "Don't worry, love, things will be fine. See, I feel you are
getting used to this. What need I do to make you relax?"

Siara wanders in, still arguing with Elen, "We'd put them on the
divan. No one sits there anyway. I don't know why though. And how much
could a few little jewels hurt, even if you sit on them?"

Linneth> Eosith shifts his weight but continues to stare, scarcely
blinking even at the dust kicked up by those passing. He begins to
rumble, deep in his chest.

Laurene grins, "Well, if Ranth's going to chase, I'm betting
Idrelth's chances aren't very good at winning. So... no worries,
right?" There's a change for you.

Elen has been left behind a little by Siara, her hands go to her
hips. "Oh, well walk off, I know my skills in interior decor are not
the best..." She rolls her eyes. "Siara, I know I would not want a
jewel sticking in my backside."

Deannus chuckles quietly, "Not like they can help it, I suppose.
Besides...they /never/ listen t'their riders on stuff like this." A
hand is lifted and fingers waggled at both Siara and Elen as she
singsongs yet again, "Fort's duties."

You say "Oh, no, it'll rot my teeth right out, and besides, I had
six yesterday. I'm relaxed. I had the greatest bath when Linneth got
annoyed earlier."

Elen lifts a hand to Dea. "Igen's to you too." She says tiredly.

Siara mutters something about what Elen /needs/ stuck in her backside
and then waves to the others.

Deannus asks, with some small trace of sympathy, "She duck you in
th'lake, J'on? Kiryath likes t'do that when we visit, divin' into it."

Elen sticks out her tongue at Siara's back and takes a large glass
of wine. "I do not think Jewels are on Kineth's mind anyway."

Woosh! Zip! Kyli watches J'on's subject change with all the
hyper-agility of a VTOL. "Relax? Who says you need to relax? Oh hey,
Elen, Siara!" After a moment, she continues reluctantly, "Come sit
over here?"

Siara nods to Kyliven, making her way over, pausing to grin widely
at Deannus, "Oh, it's so good to see you!"

Elen looks to Kyliven and J'on and smiles a little. "Maybe this is
the time I fly off to Shipfish..."

Another of those highly amused glances is flickered at Kyli by Deannus
before her attention is retrieved by Siara. "Good t'see you as well!
Yer lookin' as trim an' beautiful as ever," she replies, matching grin
for grin.

You say "Yes, however did you know, Dealove? SIALOVE!!! CAMILOVE!!
ELENSWEET!!" Maybe he's decided Elenlove isn't euphonious enough? He
bounces up. "EVERYONE'S here! Look, Deannus is visiting!"

Deannus giggles, clapping a hand over her mouth to stifle further
vocalizations of amusement as she nods to J'on. Yes she is. Dealove is
in the Weyr.

Macami waves to Siara and Elen, though most of her concentration is
fixed on Laurene. "There, that's an attitude, like that. You are doing
well. Knew you would." She flashes another smile, when J'on calls out
again. She winces slightly. "Oh hey, J'onlove, I'm sitting right next
to Dea, I know she's here."

Siara smiles back at Deannus, "How's your baby? I want you to see
Sahra later on...she's so big now!" She jumps at J'on's sudden shout
and then peers out to the bowl. "Soon, I guess," she says cheerfully.

Laurene's smile is amused as she sits, apparently invisibly, next to
Macami and Deannus. She nods to Macami, "Well, it's inevitable, right?
Though, I might not be so calm about it when he loses."

Elen winces a little. "Aye J'on, we all heard your shouring from the
other side of the bowl." She tips her head at Kyli. "Seems it really
does affect em all differently."

Deannus tentatively lowers her hand, and resumes grinning at Siara.
"I'd like that. Deadree is currently safe in th'nursery at Fort,
charmin' all th'nannies. She's gettin' big too. Started pullin'
herself up on stuff not too long ago!"

You say "Affect me? Nothing's wrong with me, sweet." He sits down, but
his fingers are tappng. "Oh, right, you are here. Sorry, Cami dear
one."

Elen shrugs easily, not about to argue with the proddy one. "Sure sure,
I know you are always loud and affectionate all at once."

Kyliven nods absently at Elen's words, offering her a cookie without
looking at the other bluerider.

Siara nods, "Pretty soon you'll have to start hiding everything in
your weyr. Sahra chewed up my riding straps once, even though I thought
I had them put away where she couldn't reach."

Elen takes the cookie from Kyli, "Ta dear, alcohol and sugar should
help me."

Deannus leans over the table to pat J'on's hand then straightens up
and looks back to Siara. "Really? How'd she manage that?" she asks,
suddenly concerned. "I have alot of nice stuff in m'weyr." She pauses,
then smiles. "But Dea has good taste, she wouldn't ruin any of it."

Macami kisses Laurene's cheek gently. She mutters to Laurene, "You...
that... is the... you... are ready... you.... calm you down, certainly
will."

Siara glances over at J'on quickly and then forces her eyes back to
Deannus, "She just climbed up and got the draw open somehow..."

Laurene flushes slightly and grins at Macami.

Linneth> Linneth finally relaxes her tension into sleep..but for how
long?

Macami just grins and then continues to watch J'on more closely now,
one hand holding Laurene's, though. The gleam in her eyes could be
called predatorial. This seems to be one rider who can't wait for
Linneth to rise.

Linneth> Kiryath seems to find that as good an idea as any and curls
up once more, tailtip falling over his muzzle. Several pairs of lids
slide over his eyes, though they remain directed at Linneth, and the
brown allows himself to fall into a light doze.

Siara waves over to Laurene and Macami, spotting them at last. "Hi!"

Deannus's eyes skim around, noting the various looks on various riders
faces. Hiding a grin behind the rim of the glass of juice, she lapses
into amused silence with one last, "Been entirely too long since I
visited..."

Kyliven isn't eating her cookies so much as toying with them (and
offering them to others). Flick scrick scrick go her fingers across
the back of one sweet, gouging a channel in the dough and causing
crumbs to fly everywhere.

Macami hears Siara's call and waves to her...again. "Good morning,
orchid," she plainly states, somewhat distractedly.

Siara smiles at Macami happily, and then remarks to Kyliven, "I guess
we won't get to take that trip today after all."

J'on radiates joy to the cavern, grinning almost vacuously and
causing one of the Sirocco greenriders to take herself elsewhere.

Kyliven glances over at Siara blankly, then seems to recognize her,
turning her head so she can look at the bluerider without giving
herself a headache. "Trip? What trip?"

Deannus leans closer to Macami and murmers, "Maybe I should be gettin'
back t'Fort before this does happen." Her head inclines in a slight
nod to indicate the intense attention being focused on J'on.

Elen rolls her eyes. "Oh, I am getting old..."

Siara grins at Kyliven, "You know. The one where I show you all those
places I like to go. I promised you, remember?"

Dragon> All dragons sense that Linneth stirs in her sleep and invites
any male dragons wishing to chase her to make their way to Igen Weyr.
Blooding begins at noon eastern. Not like any of you can catch her on
her maiden flight, but she's normally a courteous green. ;)

Macami chuckles softly to Deannus. "Do you think that brown stud of
yours would go back to Fort now? I don't think so."

Laurene glances out towards the bowl, frowning thoughtfully. "Well,
that cinches it."

Linneth> Kineth looks at all those taking a nap as though they are
daft...no fear of him closeing his eyes around a ready to rise green.

Linneth> Eosith neither rests nor relaxes, though his tail does stop
twitching. Gotta safe your energy, you know.

Deannus's grin is quite wry as she answers, "S'worth a try anyways.
Not like you Igen dragons stand a chance with Kiryath around anyway,
an' a maiden flight should be fair rather than set from th'very
beginning." She winks, then slides from the table.

J'on stares out at the bowl distractedly, bouncing in his seat and
oblivious to details.

Kyliven blinks at Siara, then the glow lights. "Oh. Oh! /That/ trip.
No, I, uh... don't think that'd be a good idea right now, Siara.
Cookie?" she asks, extending the terraformed morsel she's been
clutching for the past several minutes.

Siara glances at Deannus and laughs, "I think you'll be surprised."
Her attention slides back to J'on, watching him closely.

Elen looks at Dea and shakes her head. "Oh wle, you cannot say that
Libeth ever chooses anyway but fair dear...otherwise I am not sure
how we explain your win."

Siaranods to Kyliven and takes a cookie, "Thanks...maybe tomorrow."

J'on abruptly stands up and starts pacing.

Linneth> Kiryath, master of the quick and dirty nap, rouses from the
doze and goes into another round of yawning and stretching before
that happily spinning jeweled gaze skewers the gem glowing not too
far away.

Kyliven nods abstractedly and, turning away, picks up another
cookie. Flick, flick...

Macami squeezes Laurene's hand firmly and reassuringly. "Oh, come on
Dea, I don't believe he wins every flight. Did he ever catch a gold,
your Kiryath?"

Laurene grins, wry. "Well, thus far Idrelth's not had much luck at
catching greens."

Deannus buffs her nails on her shirt and winks at Macami, "Kiryath
has taste, he's preferred greens so far." Brave as she is, she does
glance around to ensure no goldriders are with earshot after saying
that.

Elen smiles at Laurene. "Oh I am sure he will, he is not quite the
same as my rather, well uninterested blue." She sighs. "No that is
not what he is, just too earnest."

J'on mutters to himself, "... WATCHING... feel... they are...
watching..."
You mutter to yourself, "They're WATCHING us, I can feel it, they
are all watching us..."

Siara turns to the bowl and then back to J'on, nibbling the cookie.
She thrusts it away suddenly and shakes her head. "Wine would be
better."

Macami chuckles wistfully at Laurene. "It took Tivu full four turns
to catch his first green. I bet Idrelth will do much better. Remember,
I want him to teach Tivu how it's done."

Laurene grins, "Maybe Idrelth will have better luck with the golds."

Deannus's eyes wander, inevitably, towards J'on again. "Not long now,"
she remarks unnecessarily to the circle of riders, then looks back to
Macami and Laurene, "If th'golds are smart, I wager he will."

Macami turns her head to look Laurene in the eyes. "Did you know that
Cyrath thinks Idrelth and Tivu are her favorite dragons of all? Isn't
that a coincidence?"

Elen offers her wine over to Siara. "Here, try this."

Laurene chuckles, "Indeed it is. Of course, the phrase is that Bronzes
are there to make golds, but Browns exist to make golds happy, right?"

Siara goes over to Elen and takes the skin, "Better," she says again,
drinking some down. "Ranth's thirsty. He's just waiting for Linneth
now..."

Kyliven turns in her chair, eyes flicking from the cookie in her hand
to J'on's pacing form. Cookie, J'on. Cookie, J'on... slowly the length
of time she lingers on the cookie decreases, the time spent staring at
the greenrider increasing proportionally.

J'on suddenly whirls and pins you all with a stare. "It's soon."
There's a whiteness to his face. "She's stirring. She's so angry!
Don't let them look at us!" There's real urgency to his voice. "Don't
let them stare at me!"

Elen nods in agreement. "I think Kineth is stuck in scared fascination,
he is always odd about those who were in the 'class'." She looks at
J'on, face imobile. "Oh dear, think this one needs a weyr to himself."

Laurene gives a faint smile, "Does Ranth ever /not/ win?"

Deannus scoops up the riding gear she'd deposited earlier on the table
and turns to a drudge, loading it up in his arms. "See this doesn't get
misplaced or lost," she warns him. "I'll need it soon enough." That
done, she flicks a glance at J'on, considers, then walks to the serving
table to appropriate a flagon of wine.

Siara nods to Elen, "I know. Linneth is a little different from some
of the other greens, too..." She looks over at Laurene and nods, a
little irritably. "I only meant he's waiting for her to go blood before
he drinks."

Linneth> Linneth is still asleep...but her tail begins to twitch.
Fitfully and in starts, she's going to wake very soon.

Laurene's gaze tracks J'on's pacing form. She does manage to muster a
smile for Siara, "I was teasing, love."

Macami licks her suddenly dry lips. "Think you got some wine to spare
for me, Dea?" She nods to Laurene's words. "Of course, that's right."
She sounds distracted again.

Elen sighs. "Aye, different, just like his rider is too." She looks to
the bowl.

Linneth> Kineth shifts about, as though he is picking up signals from
the green that is so near, his head swivels to the feeding grounds.

Deannus picks up a second flagon and tosses it easily to Macami. "Don't
drink it all now," she warns, "Might need some in case Kiryath does
live up t'his reputation."

Linneth> Ranth gazes at Linneth's flickering tail intently.

Linneth> Eosith shifts his weight again, carefully untucking his feet
and readying for action. With a toss of his head, his gaze flies
towards the Feeding Pens, but returns almost immediately to the green,
his lodestone.

Macami sticks out her tongue at Deannus, then opens the flagon to take
a sip. She offers the wine to Laurene. "Want some?"

Laurene shakes her head, "No, thank you."

J'on runs hands through his hair. "Don't!" he pleads. "It's like..I
feel..." He shifts his weight from foot to foot. A bit of clarity,
"Shards, and I thought I was ready for this!"

Linneth> Idrelth settles back on his legs, ready to take to the air
for the feeding grounds. His gaze whirls quickly, showing hints of
purple as he watches the sleeping green.

Macami puts the flagon on the table in front of her, after taking
another swipe. She wipes her mouth with the back of her hand.

Elen puts down the wine, head swiveling to J'on, giving him a soft
smile before she moves nearer to the bowl.

Deannus doesn't open the flagon she'd taken for herself. Instead,
it's tucked into her belt as she leans back against the table, arms
folding comfortably across her midriff. "It gets easier with time,
J'on," she says, smiling gently though a slight edge lurks beneath
the pleasant expression.

Linneth> Kineth give a loud call out, and in a move most unlike him,
moves to the feeding grounds.
Linneth> Kineth tenses, then springs upwards.

Linneth> Linneth stirs, head moving under her wing. Her tail goes
from a twitch to a lash.

Siara looks over at J'on, her smile fading a little, and she sighs.
"It'll be okay," she murmurs.

Linneth> Idrelth springs into the air, not willing to be unprepared.

Linneth> Idrelth tenses, then springs upwards.

J'on gasps and his eyes go wide. "SHARDS!" he repeats and goes
outside at a faster run than he entered.

You walk out into the Bowl.

In spite of the calm aura he's projecting, Kiryath starts as the blue
takes to the air. An almost scornful glance is sent after the dragons
following, and the brown dips into one last powerful stretch before he
too pushes upwards and glides towards the feeding grounds.
Kiryath tenses, then springs upwards.
IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Kiryath catches an updraft to glide into
the air of the Bowl.
IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Kiryath swoops to the feeding grounds to
the southwest.
IgenW-Bowl> At the feeding grounds, Kiryath backwings to land in the
grounds neatly.

IgenW-Bowl> At the feeding grounds, Idrelth comes down on the back of
a herdbeast, snapping it. A quick slash, and the entrails are spilled.
The brown hurls a roar at the sky, then lowers his muzzle to drink.

Linneth finds her head under her wing. How did it get there? She growls
and whips it back, hissing loudly and angrily, eyes a deep incarnadine.

Eosith screams as the others take to the air, and with one last
lascvious glance at Linneth's prone form, follows after.
Eosith tenses, then springs upwards.
IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Eosith catches an updraft to glide into the
air of the Bowl.

IgenW-LC> Deannus shakes her head and pushes away from the table.
"Well ladies...shall we?" she chuckles, smile shading into an
expectant grin as she glances at the others, then turns for the bowl.

IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Eosith swoops to the feeding grounds to the
southwest.
IgenW-Bowl> At the feeding grounds, Eosith backwings to land in the
grounds neatly.

IgenW-LC> Kyliven starts as J'on runs outside, and dropping her cookie
to be trampled underfoot and forgotten, pelts after.
Kyliven walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern.
IgenW-LC> Kyliven walks out to the Bowl.

Laurene walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern.
IgenW-LC> Laurene walks out to the Bowl.

IgenW-LC> Macami doesn't look quite as expectant as Deannus, but gets
up as well, throwing a somewhat worried smile Laurene's direction.
Macami walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern.
IgenW-LC> Macami walks out to the Bowl.

J'on drops to his knees, trying to concentrate. His stomach growls.
"Yes...blood. Go, girl, get it, get it for us, I need to fly!"

IgenW-Bowl> At the feeding grounds, Kineth launches himself into the
air with a loud rumble, surprising himself even at his speed. Then
his hunger takes over as he scans the ground for herdbeasts. Target
chosen, he closes his wings slightly to fall down swiftly, breaking
his prey's back. The hot blood drips from his maw, staining it
scarlet. The Herdbeast's body dry, the blue flies once more into the
air, scanning for his next victim.

IgenW-Bowl> Midway up in the Bowl, Tivuketh drops off of Idrelth's
ledge with a powerful downstroke of his wings.
IgenW-Bowl> Midway up in the Bowl, Tivuketh wings lower into the Bowl.
IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Tivuketh glides down cautiously.

IgenW-LC> Elen strides out slowly, not at all like her far too quick
blue.
Elen walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern.
IgenW-LC> Elen walks out to the Bowl.

Linneth arches her back and screams at the sky, at her hunger, at her
rider, and launches herself skyward.

IgenW-LC> Siara runs out after the others.

IgenW-LC> Siara walks out to the Bowl.

Linneth> You spring into the air of the Bowl.
Linneth tenses, then springs upwards.
IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Linneth catches an updraft to glide into
the air of the Bowl.

IgenW-Bowl> At the feeding grounds, Eosith screams again as he circles
the feeding pens, rousing the beasts inside to even more of a panic.
He folds his wings and dives sharply onto a wherry, snapping its back
even as he reaches forward for the bird's neck and the blood coursing
therein.

Linneth> You swoop to the southwest and backwing to land in the Feeding
Grounds.

IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Linneth swoops to the feeding grounds to
the southwest.

Linneth> With lazy grace, Kiryath spirals down from above and lands
neatly on the back of a panicking buck. The sharp *CRACK* of its spine
cleaving neatly in two is all but lost in the greedy squealings that
pour from the brown as his muzzle dips and razor teeth fasten upon the
beasts neck. Its deaththroes intensify for an instant, then taper off
into the preternatural stillness that indicate loss of life as its
blood is sucked cleanly from its body.

Deannus walks out from the Weyr's Living Cavern.
IgenW-LC> Deannus walks out to the Bowl.

Ranth heads into the corral containing the Weyr feeding grounds.
Linneth> Ranth hops the fence from the field outside the main entrance
to the east.

Linneth> Tivuketh backwings to land in the grounds neatly.
IgenW-Bowl> Just overhead, Tivuketh swoops to the feeding grounds to
the southwest.

Linneth> Idrelth discards the carcass he drained, launching himself at
a second beast. This one, too, is killed quickly, then eviscerated.
Red stains the brown's muzzle as he lowers it again to drink.

Linneth> Linneth usually circles the ground from high, picking out her
prey before she feeds. Not today. Screaming in anger, she drops on a
herdbeast. How DARE it have looked at her! She rips its guts out with
one talon, then screams again as her head whips around toward the main
entrance to the weyr.

J'on shouts "No! No, you will blood, you WILL!" His face is white
with concentration.

Linneth> There is a battle plan even in the blooding, and Kiryath has
participated in the chase of females often enough to take the advantage
of each sneaky tactic. To intimidate the other competitors before even
leaving the ground is his preference, so the limp carcass of the buck
is lifted in ironwood talons and flung at a much smaller blue nearby,
the sack of bones and dry flesh impacting at its feet with a muffled
thump.

Linneth> Ranth drops to the feeding pens, seizing his own beast
without much attention, taken by the usually cool and detached
Linneth's sudden fury, idly tearing off the head of the creature and
gulping sloppily.

Linneth> Idrelth drops his second carcass, then settles back on his
haunches, watching the green. Waiting.

Deannus's eyes close for a moment, lips moving in silent coordination
with the actions of her lifemate in the pens. "Don't you hit anyone
this time," she can be heard warning the aggressive brown before she
opens her eyes. And looks to J'on.

Linneth> Kineth is more than distracted by Linneth, her beauty and
those shril notes make the poor beast's kill he has landed on far from
clean and rather hasty. The animal's cries end as Kineth snaps it more
neatly, muzzle becoming darker and darker as the blood covers it.

Elen lickes her lips, eyes nearly as wild as Kineth's now. "Hmm, glad
I have a little wine in my belly."

Linneth> Tivuketh has his eyes intent on beautiful Linneth, while he
almost playfully rips a fat herdbeast, blood gurgling from its throat.
He drinks and drains it completely in a loud slurping noise.

Linneth> Linneth hisses in raw fury. She is fighting with her rider
now, giving the males precious time to blood their own kills. Another
herdbeast dies as she smacks it with her tail where it stood paralyzed
in fear.

Siara looks at J'on, for a moment with the usual warmth, before her
expression changes to a different sort of fascination altogether.

Linneth> Eosith drinks dry the wherry before roughly flinging it to
one side. If it impacts upon the hide of another dragon, so be it.
With a muted roar, he bounds forward, deigning flight to rend a
herbeast cow with both forelegs. Dipping his muzzle greedily into the
still-kicking beast's belly, he watches Linneth closely, eyes shot
with hues of violet and crimson, muscles tightening at each of her
movements.

Elen is not looking at J'on at all, its almost as though she does not
trust herself even one glance.

J'on murmurs "Fine, I'll kill and I'll blood and I'll show you all,
all of you!" His voice rises to a shout as he speaks. "All of you!"

Linneth> A second herdbeast is chosen, pinned to the ground with
little concern for its frantic squeals at being impaled on those same
dark talons, now stained a deeper shade with its blood. Kiryath's eyes
drink deeply of the green causing her own havok amongst the stampeding
animals, even as his maw and throat run with the blood from the second
beast taken, fuel for the courtship that looms so close in his mind's
eye.

Kyliven's face is blank as she follows the pack of riders out into the
bowl, her attention flicking once towards the mayhem in the feeding
pens before fastening on J'on.

Linneth> Tivuketh settles for a wherry now, biting off its head,
spitting the head out, blood gushing to stain his muzzle. That does
not seem to be enough and he rips the beast open at more places, until
it's nothing but an empty carcass that has to be discarded without a
thought.

Linneth> Idrelth gives a roar in response to J'on's -- Linneth's? --
cry. His wings rustle, whirling gaze intent.

Linneth> Kineth is usually a neat killer, but decorum has left him as
the second appetite and hunger he feels is quelled by the hot blood
rising in his throat. A wet deep rumble sounds in his throat, and he
proudly kills right at the claws of the green.

Linneth> Linneth fastens her teeth on the beast and sucks it dry, the
green showing below the gore increasing in its intensity further.

Linneth> Ranth rumbles appreciatively at the ferocious grace of
Linneth's tail, draining the last of the blood from the beast he holds
down with one claw, and then bringing down another, barely maintaing
the facade of poise and composure he usually tries to display before
Linneth.

Macami pales a bit and rubs her hands uneasily.

Deannus's hand drops to the wine flagon still tucked beneath her belt,
fingers idly fidgeting around the wax seal. Her gaze shifts unsteadily
from J'on to the pens, and it takes an effort, but she manages to seal
her attention solely on Kiryath. For now.

Laurene stands, straight and tall, taut. Her lips set in a determined
line. If she sees the others around her, she gives no sign of it.

Elen puts her hands on her hips, almost starting to strut about the
field.

Linneth> Linneth spins and pounces on the second beast, scarlet-
stained teeth sinking deep into the hapless critter, tail still
lashing, wings halfspread. She can't suck and hiss at the same time,
but she can and does growl menacingly.

Linneth> The second beast is tossed away, this time at a rival brown,
before Kiryath rises up on taut haunches and throws his wings out from
his body. The sky, and the other males, are challenged with a
revertebrating bellow before the cherrywood brown drops easily from
the pose to crouch eagerly before his desire, waiting...

Linneth> Tivuketh jumps up onto the back of a herdbest, smashing it to
the ground. The first rush for blood has subsided and while he takes
his time with that beast, he watches Linneth, his eyes whirling violet,
with pleasure at the sight. Even her growls display her beauty and he
continues to tear away flesh to reach the blood.

J'on licks his lips, swallowing repeatedly. "Yes, yes, YES, this is
what I want....No! It's not!"

Siara pushes her hair back from her face, chin lifted as she gazes up
at J'on, eyes wide.

Linneth> Kineth lifts his silvered head into the air, droplets
spraying from his muzzle as he does do, landing upon other dragons as
well as the ground. His eeys whirl, scanning the pens for more energy
giving beasts, tail snapping ominously behind him.

Linneth> Idrelth's wings spread, but he does not lift off the ground.
A display, maybe? Intently, his violet whirling gaze watches Linneth's
every move, mesmerized.

Elen crosses her arms against her chest, trying to seem as though she
has more poise than she could possibly possess.

Deannus tosses her chin and shoots daggered looks at the female riders
clustered with vapid eyes around /her/ prize before she drags herself
back to reality. "Save yer breath," she mutters, voice half-growl.
"Y'still have t'outfly them, sillylove."

Linneth> Linneth drops the beast like her hide was burned, and snakes
her head around. Watching her. They're all watching. And she looks
skyward...freedom is that way! How dare they watch her! She'll go where
no one can watch!
Linneth> Linneth darts skyward, screaming in challenge.

Linneth> Eosith's hind feet backpedal as he drinks, a ghastly mutation
of his usual cheerful self. He drinks slowly, but still his second
beast is dry soon, too soon. With another low roar, almost a moan, he
crouches low and stalks the green. Each foot moves singly, jerkily as
he approaches.

Linneth> Ranth follows Linneth in one fluid line of motion, dropping
herdbeast and skimming after her.

You walk up the steps carefully, arriving on the guest ledge.
Guest Weyr
The ledge of the empty ground weyr is spacious, with more than enough
room for two or three dragons. The weyr has a cozy stone hollow,
proportioned to dragon size. The sleeping area, separated from the
rest of the weyr by a large, ornately embroidered curtain, is clean,
with a warm looking black and gold patterned rug, and a tapestry
depicting a Fall over the Igen River.
The door in the eastern wall leads into the Weyr proper. From the
ledge, the sky of the Bowl opens out to the west.
Obvious exits:
Steps to bowl Hallway

Siara comes up the steps from the floor of the bowl.

Macami comes up the steps from the floor of the bowl.

Linneth> Idrelth's wings move in strong beats, carrying him after
the glowing green. Determination eminates from his form.

Laurene comes up the steps from the floor of the bowl.
Laurene follows after, more slowly. Instinctively.

Macami rushes into the room, more than eager to catch, as is her
dragon.

Siara slips into the weyr, finding her usual spot and leaning against
the wall, waiting.

Linneth> Kineth sees the green fly off with speed into the air and
gives a loud warble, a mixture of desire and concern for an old
'charge', racing upwards to follow the prize. He opens his wings fully,
allowing the air currents to help him gain height and not lose speed.
He turns his head just a touch to see who his rivals are, and then
returns his gaze to the glowing female that has gained his affection
and adoration.

Linneth> Kiryath's taut watchfulness paid off in allowing him the first
impetuous leap after the promise of bliss. Catching a warm current, he
allows it to buoy him upwards, caressing the undersides of his sails in
sibilant whispers of what the future holds for him and Linneth.

Deannus comes up the steps from the floor of the bowl.

Linneth> Eosith arrows into the air, his small form launching from the
ground faster than the larger browns. Eyes on the prize, his wings
snap open, lifting him higher and closer to the goal, the event, the
green.

Elen comes up the steps from the floor of the bowl.

Kyliven comes up the steps from the floor of the bowl.

Elen enters, trying her best to seem cool and poised, J'on gets at
first a look that speaks of concern and kindness, but as her eyes
flicker it changes, a glint eminating from the corner.

Deannus knows the drill. Allowing amber eyes to trail over J'on with
almost palpable intensity in spite of his repeated protestations about
watching him/Linneth, she takes up a flanking position along one wall,
back pressing against the cool stablizing stone.

Linneth> Tivuketh can't help it but watch the incarnation of beauty,
the wonderful Linneth, disappear from him, driven on by her speed. He
pumps his strong wings, and there it is, the thermal that will carry
him higher to have her, to lead him to his goal. He looks neither right
nor left, his eyes have only one thing in sight.

Linneth> Linneth almost forgets the pursuers in the joy of discovery.
Her wings spread as if she's never used them before (but infinitely more
gracefully).

Kyliven runs in last of all, her eyes wide. With a frustrated growl,
she lurks near the back of the room, unable to approach any closer.

Macami goes for a quiet corner herself, leaning casually against the
wall, hands inside the pockets of her breeches. Her eyes rest on J'on,
and she licks her dry lips, then looks up to the ceiling as if she
could stare through.

Linneth> Kineth soars onwards, an enticing green tail is in front,
this site enabling his wings to keep up their steady beating as much
as any herdbeast's blood. Head shakes, perhaps as he tries to loose
what this green may have meant to him before. Concentration returns
as he realises he must balance stamina with speed if he is to gain
the gleaming prize his gaze and pumping heart is so fixed on,
especially with those larger browns about!

Linneth> Idrelth finds himself a spot in the pack, allowing a good
view of the green and her magnificent flight. He is silent, now. None
of his usual rumbles, certainly none of the rare roars. Determination
mixing with lust.

Linneth> The glory of flight, mixed with the pulsing heat throbbing
through each vein and clouding already incoherant lust-filled
thoughts, leads Kiryath to the center of the pack. And here is where
the true art of planning beforehand takes shape. He holds his position,
wings stroking the wind with practiced surety.

Linneth> Eosith is buffeted by a larger brown, their wings nearly
entangling before Eosith drops behind with a scream of rage. Reduced
to the back of the pack, he swerves and slips, his wings angling as
he tries to find an entrance back into the heat of the fray.

J'on stops running when he hits the far wall, but his momentary daze
brings him deeper into communion as he sits down on his rear hard.

Laurene's gaze helplessly moves to pick out J'on in the crowd. But
it's Linneth she sees, as it's Idrelth she feels.

Elen winces as J'on hits the wall, still caught between her own
feelings as those that Kineth is feeling up in the air.

Deannus's hands ball into fists as she stills the impulse to go to
the greenrider and ensure that he's unhurt. The urge translates into
a sliding step forward before she forces herself back to the wall.

Linneth> Ranth wings after Linneth, gracefully, merely flying, much as
she does, for the enjoyment of it, for the newness that every flight
brings, waiting for the real chase to begin.

Kyliven eels between a hulking bronzerider and the wall, stepping
into a spot which gives her (finally!) a clear view of J'on. And there
she stands, waits, legs tense and fists curled as she fights, flights.

Linneth> Linneth croons as her back muscles and shoulder muscles work
in harmony as they never have before. The sky is hers! Never mind the
rest. Even if they are back there! She dips and spirals down a few
lengths, then swoops up dangerously close to a bronze. Luckily for
her, he's too slow to catch her before she's up and past him.

Siara groans a little and holds her head, "Dizzy..." she mutters.

Linneth> Ranth warbles in delight at the sudden joy Linneth shows,
never before having seen her so free and likewise indulges in a few
capers, trying to match her graceful acrobatics, all the while
staying close as he dares.

Linneth> Kineth moves his lithe blue body through the air with ease,
dipping and rising as he needs to, mostly to keep up with this rather
agile young green. His whirling, shining eyes stayed locked on the
nimble, tempting body of Linneth. Kineth moves on a thermal,
position changing so he is near the left of the green, beating his
wings furtively in his desire to reach her.

Linneth> It is an almost smug growl that the Fortian brown emits as
he sends a blue that had swerved too close to his own impressive
wingspan scurrying away. They'll learn. Even with a mind so fogged
by mingling violet and emerald, his experience holds him to a true
and steady path below and behind his fleeing objective as she plays
with the other males. An Igen green will again learn the delight of
sharing a twining embrace with Kiryath today.

J'on slowly drags himself to his feet, laughing as he dances around
the room, oblivious to the bruise he's going to have on his shoulder
later. "Free, I'm free..whoops! Too slow to catch me, too slow to get
me!" He arches his back and laughs, pure joy.

Linneth> Eosith hisses as he echoes his rider, slipping behind and
below a bronze to give him a clear view of Linneth, even if it is
from below. He surges forward a length or two, eagerness and
inexperience outstripping any sort of strategy or logical thought.

Elen looks almost pleased at J'on's outburst, is that perhaps pride
upon her face as he moves freely. It lasts only a second before a
more feral smile takes its place, one infinately less innocent.

Though a spark of uncertainty may well lurk in Dea's dragon-filled
mind, it's the confidence of that dragon that shows through in her
manner. Elbowing a bluerider aside, tossing the man a smirk as she
slides into the place kept by him in the circle, she settles in for
the wait, eyes raking over J'on's antics with knowing approval.

Linneth> Tivuketh flies on the right side of the pack, away from the
others. He never minds the dipping and spirals Linneth performs above
him, knowing that his strength is the clue. He almost echoes Kiryath's
movements, flying steady, that's the word. Lust does not seem to have
addled his brains very much yet, though longing fills every cell of
his body. If only he could have her, the object of his dreams.

Linneth> Idrelth's tail lashes out at a blue who flies practically
close enough to touch him, sending the smaller dragon spinning off
away from the chase. Idrelth redoubles his efforts to follow the
green. He does not mirror her acrobatics, but steadily maintains a
course that will hopefully put her in his grasp eventually. Like he
might bear down on a clump of thread. His concentration is just as
intense.

Macami keeps away from the other riders, just as her dragon tries to
stay away from other dragons. Her poise is not as steady as her
dragon's, she starts chewing on her lower lip.

Laurene's arm lashes out, knocking over a bluerider who brushes
against her in an effort to get a better view of J'on. It's Idrelth
who does this... or is it Laurene? Are they even different beings?

Siara isn't trying to get into the fray, but she is turning around
and around and then staggers dizzily into the flailing arms.

Linneth> Linneth is cocky, youth definitely affecting her perceptions
and her estimation of what exactly she can get away with. A surge of
speed and she's ahead of the pack again, but it's going to cost her
in energy later. An arch of her back, and she's circling up over the
group, sure they can't correct in time to catch her.

Linneth> Now that his place has been won amongst the other less
worthy males, Kiryath begins to make his move towards a more
advantageous placing. Wind whistling sharply over fully extended
wings, sails cupping each helpful current and dipping beneath those
that might impede his progress, the brown shows his own bulky agility
by banking sharply around a male two shades lighter and snapping
upwards at an angle that's not entirely safe. Though still behind
Linneth, and unable to match her acrobatics, this brings him to a
patch of sky only slightly below, rather than at a distance of several
dragonlengths. An excellent vantagepoint from which to admire the
silky green form that will, with hope and skill, be wrapped in his
wings soon enough.

Linneth> Idrelth does not try to be as quick, or acrobatic, as the
green. Steady, constant. This is his strategy. He lets her be the
star, but he's ready to catch her when she should fall.

Linneth> Kineth turns sharply one way, having to avoid some brown or
other, as all gets more and more confusing. If it were not for
Linneth filling his mind so, he may well be acting more rashly. As it
is he keeps his blue and silver head, using his annoyance to carry him
with more power than you would expect towards the gleaming hide of the
green. Luckily, his size is to his advantage, tail whipping his body
this way and that to keep an almost direct line on the green, circles
and all, see sometimes your small size is everything!

J'on strips off his shirt unconsciously, the sweat itching him as the
blood drying is beginning to itch Linneth.

Linneth> Ranth flies strongly, wings fully extended, soaring over the
little currents blowing up from the Igen desert, the familiar lift
aiding him as he follows Linneth in glazed fascination, her every move
a surprise to him, as she is not at all what he expected in flight.

Elen laughs a little, very softly, as Kineth enjoys the feeling of
air surrouding her. All the 'motherly' looks she may have been giving
J'on are now well gone, pure passion filling her sea green eyes as she
looks at the half naked form of the greenrider.

Linneth> Tivuketh turns his head and almost whines in frustration, the
emerald gem of his desires being so close and then so far away. He
pumps his wings, using all the power at his command to go up, up, up to
reach her. Staying away from the rest of the pack as he is,
successfully yet, no dragons are there to keep him from heading towards
the most lovely dragon of all.

Siara fends off elbows and knees of the jostling riders in the weyr
and cocks her head, gazing at J'on inquiringly, eyes narrowed in
thought.

Deannus's tongue flicks out to moisten dry lips, eyes widening and
deepening to a dusky shade of gold as they bored through J'on's form.
One hand lifts absently, pushing hair back from her face and brushing
a dew of sweat from her brow as the tense effort of supporting and
coordinating the tactics of Kiryath begins to show.

Linneth> Eosith banks easily and follows Linneth's turn, using his
place near the back with bronzes and browns to gain both altitude and
position. His pinions arch as he picks up speed, calling gently to
attract her attention. Do not forget us! We love you!

Macami opens her eyes briefly, the sad puppy look replaced by a
burning, yearning gaze that focuses on J'on. She quickly closes her
eyes to get rid of the strange overlapping image of J'on and Linneth
as one.

Kyliven inhales sharply as J'on strips, her dragon-fueled passion now
increased by her own. She takes a step forward, then another, then
swallows to remove the strange over-taste of blood.

Laurene presses her lips together, watching the flash of skin. Is it
hot in here? She tugs at the collar of her shirt.

Linneth> Shades of violet are beginning to creep into the crimson of
Linneth's eyes. She sneaks a look at her pursuers, and then in a
so-common tactic of young greens, she drops toward the bowl. In Benden
or Telgar or Fort, that might work for her to hide in a cloud.
In Igen's heat, there are few clouds to hide her in this season, and
the tactic must fail.

J'on drops to his knees, laughing again, as he/Linneth are surely the
smartest dragon in the world, to think of dropping under them!

Linneth> Idrelth pulls in his wings, allowing his greater bulk to drop
him after the green. He remains ready to snap them open again, to
increase his pursuit. That glowing, lovely goal. Steady, steady.
Determination and lust a frightening mix.

Linneth> Kineth has been in mnay a flight by now, and seen this tactic
used many a time. Instead of dipping with great speed, he takes a
more pleasant and softer curve downwards, shining wingsails getting
less of a strains, and not having the disadvantage of loosing too much
speed. Experience and patience show as his soft crooning ends and his
eyes lock onto the young lithe hide.

Linneth> The heady sense of triumph that really should wait until
/after/ he's brought Linneth into his embrace begins to swell
uncontrollably in Kiryath's thoughts/actions as smaller males begin
to drop away, unable to continue the chase as their lesser stamina
fails them. His moment is coming, his forethought in placement serving
him well now. Wings power him forward to intercept the green's fall,
tail lashing in eager anticipation of snaring hers, strained muscles
in neck and shoulders twitching as he drops at a less suicidal angle
taken by some of the younger pursuers.

Elen stays calm, just like her blue, eyes show a flicker of concern,
then shine one, smile fixed as her blue curves like the corners of her
mouth.

Linneth> There, a sudden instant of luck! She's close! Tivuketh folds
his huge wingsails, putting them close to his body, almost dropping
like a stone. Then he unfolds them again to slow his descent. Violet
lust clouds his mind now. He knew she would come to him, didn't he?
Now he's close enough to see the afternoon sun shining on her slick,
emerald hide, filling his head with even more longing. His tail moves
sinuously. The time is nigh...

Linneth> Ranth drops after Linneth, despite knowing the trick. None
of this is going as anticipated and who knows, she might just pull it
off. He bugles, breaking the stillness surrounding the patch of sky
he claims as his territory, excitment at everything old being made
new again overwhelming him.

J'on chants "Down and down, you can't get me! Not here..." A slight
frown creases his features as s/he together realize that may not be
the case.

Linneth> Eosith calls again, once more, then quiets as his strength
slips away, falling into the bowl for other dragons to assimilate
and use, for surely he will have no need of it now. Or perhaps he
will? He adjusts his angle of descent to a gradual one, one that
will bring him above the green for that glorious moment of capture
that surely is approaching on glowing green wings.

Mouth curving in a smile that speaks of naughty amusement at the
green/greenrider's seeming overconfidence, Dea takes another of
those gliding steps forward to bring her within near orbit of the
distracted man.

Laurene remains stock-still. Idrelth is the one who must catch. Her
attention remains firmly a part of her dragon. Her body trembles with
his determination to win the prize.

Linneth> Linneth has learned much this day, and one thing she has
learned is that she can get REALLY tired. Brown and blue all around
her glowing green hide...she looks up to Kineth, back to Idrelth and
Kiryath, up..there's Ranth and Tivuketh..Even Eosith is far too close
for comfort! They're everywhere! And the bowl is too close below her
for her to double back! She screeches in her confusion, pulling up
from her dive instinctively.

Siara leans back again, finding a wall, gazing at J'on with open
admiration, before the lust takes over her features once more.

Kyliven sidesteps around the wall until she is within three meters
of J'on, then stands there, swaying for a moment before she pushes
herself away from the stone defense. Out into the room, away from any
protection, one must risk all if one wishes to gain everything.

Macami licks her lips again and can't restrain herself from walking
towards J'on, as if diving for Linneth. Her hands, her palms are held
open, ready to grab and cling to the object of her lust.

Linneth> Idrelth snaps his wings open, curving his flight to bring
him in close to his prize. Now, finally, a rumble comes from deep in
his chest. He moves, angling for position, his entire being focussed
on that green hide -- that wonderful green hide. He moves to be there,
to ease her tired form from the sky in a graceful spiral of lust and
love.

You say "They're here! They're here! Nowhere to go, nowhere...!"

Linneth> Ranth is there, hovering above, close but radiating respect
as his shadow falls over Linneth, skimming concentric circles around
her as she rises from the bowl floor, closer and closer on each pass
until he can reach out his wing to wrap around the coolly graceful
Linneth. With all his heart he does so, straining through the other
around them to be the one to reach her.

Linneth> Kineth is now quiet, of course Linneth still knows he is
there, but perhaps if he is not so blatant with the use of his voice,
she will not notice him? He pulls on upward after her, using that last
hot blood in him. Surprise is the most important part of the attack
after all! Perhaps he is finally getting some sort of subtlety from
his long-suffering life-mate. Of course his wings and lithe form still
make a soft *whoosh* as he powers along, tail whipping his body this
way and that to keep an almost direct line on the green. He edges
nearer and nearer, only hoping that he is being stealthy enough to
finally ensnare the female.

Linneth> Eosith screams triumph and ire as the green climbs up, up
towards his waiting eagerness. Trembling with lust and exhaustion, his
legs extend even as his tail prepares to entwine with hers, to save
her from the bowl and the other males.

J'on looks around him, stunned, not terrified but confused..

Siara holds her hands to her head again, "Dizzy!" she moans once more.

Linneth> Kiryath's forward momentum increases as his wings snap out to
push him forward, body twisting painfully to slide him through the
distance remaining between himself and the promise of quenched desire
represented by Linneth. Lashing his tail violently to both warn other
suitors away, he strains forward, talons reaching out in the hopes of
grasping anything green in order to drag her out of the greedy reach
of those other foolish males.

Elen folds her arms against her chest, just...waiting...for that is
all she can do now, await for Kineth's success or failure.

Laurene's hand moves, slightly, reaching towards J'on. Her eyes see
Linneth, however, and shine with admiration.

Linneth> Ah yes, she comes to him, he knew it all along. Tivuketh
fans his wings, angling him down towards the green that tries to
escape by coming towards him. His tail lashes out as he tries to curl
up with hers. Oh yes, he's so intent, the muscles in his strong body
ripple in anticipation of the wonders he has to give that slick,
beautiful, dreamlike green who has so much to learn.

Deannus, like the others, reaches out towards J'on, a soft wordless
murmer of heated reassurance tumbling from parted lips in hopes of
easing that confusion.

Linneth> Linneth is left with nowhere to turn. Talons and tails and
necks and...and...and a shriek of surprise becomes a croon of startled
pleasure as Kineth's patience finally pays off.

Linneth> Ranth gives a cry of disappointment and lets himself fall to
the bowl.
Linneth> Ranth wings lower into the Bowl.

Linneth> Kineth gives a warm croon of pleasure as his wingsails and
tail wrap about the green in comfort and protection.

Linneth> Idrelth gives out a loud roar of frustration, peeling away
from the group and diving for the bowl.
Linneth> Idrelth wings lower into the Bowl.

Linneth> Eosith screams again, this time in frustration as Kineth
catches the beauty. He darts away, back to the bowl.
Linneth> Eosith wings lower into the Bowl.

Siara walks out into the hallway.

Linneth> Tivuketh calls out his frustration, his shock, his ultimate
sadness. This cannot be! He dives down towards the bowl.
Linneth> Tivuketh wings lower into the Bowl.

You say "No! No! No...yes?"

Linneth> Kiryath roars his frustration. A blue!? Trembling wings pull
him from the pack and send him spiralling down to the bowl.

Macami walks out into the hallway.

Linneth> Kiryath wings lower into the Bowl.

Laurene turns away, disappointment clear on her features... tears
trailing across her cheeks.
Laurene makes her way down the steps to the floor of the Bowl.

Kyliven moans, faint sense barely returned to her eyes, then leaves
quickly, not wishing to see the aftermath.
Kyliven walks out into the hallway.

Elen moves over to the greenroder, steps as careful as her blue's.

Deannus suddenly staggers. "Glad I remembered the wine," she mumbles,
tugging the flagon from her belt as she stumbles out of the weyr.
Deannus makes her way down the steps to the floor of the Bowl.

J'on whispers "Kineth? K..." and swallows audibly. "MINE!" he affirms.

Elen locks her arms aboutt he younger man, just nodding.

Fade to black. One OOC pose that was funny...

Dragon> Flight sense that Linneth can't help but think of a green
Lamborghini being chased by a bunch of blue souped-up station wagons, some
brown monster trucks, and a couple of bronze semis...

Dragon> Flight sense that Kineth gets the giggles...put like that....

Dragon> Flight sense that Qwenarth laughs!

Dragon> Flight sense that Eosith lol, even as he says, << Hey! I'm not a
station wagon! I'm a VW beetle! >>

Dragon> Flight sense that Kineth thinks his bumpers need attention:)
