When you're 22 and an eligible batchelor, eventually all the yentas notice..
Lyria waves with a smile, "Hi Jaegon." Jaegon comes in, yawning. "Heya, Lyria..." He waves to the girl he doesn't know. "There's some kind of starshower going on tonight. Kind of pretty." Rosalhva smiles. "Dragons. My father doesn't have much love for dragons or their riders. Like quite a few holders, he feels they are a nuisance and it was one of our differences of opinion. Though I have never felt an inclination to want to be a rider, I do love the dragons and would like to be in a Weyr. Maybe I could even learn dragonhealing. I also hope to find a place where the people are friendly and open and just someplace that has the right feel I guess." Lyria smiles, "Really? Wow," this comment is to Jaegon and then she looks at Rosalhva and grins, "Well... you could try here. To live, I mean, I couldn't say for dragonhealing. If," she adds a bit more imperiously, "You have any skills to offer us and all that." Jaegon grins and as he passes behind Lyria he sticks his tongue out at her. He shoots another grin to the girl to whom Lyria's speaking. Rosalhva smiles softly. "Well, I have been known to have a bit of a green thumb. Do you have any need for one with skills in gardening?" Lyria blinks in surprise, "Actually... I was just thinking today I could use someone to help with the herbs... I guess on southern you'd have grown a lot of them?" You say "Yes, please, someone else who knows what's a weed and what's not!" Lyria grins at Jaegon, "Well, it /looked/ like a weed. I mean, it was growing like one so I ripped it out." You say "It wasn't a WEED. It was chamomile!" Lyria tosses her head, "Well... it was getting dark," she says a bit weakly. A young girl with hair as dark as the deepest midnight and almond shaped eyes that glitter an unusual amber-grey. Her smooth, supple skin is lightly tanned and you guess that she is not originally from the Northern Continent. She is wearing a deep green colored shirt and cream colored pants. A pair of wherhide boots adorn her feet, protecting them. Her hair is tied back in a delicate braid, and she has a light smile upon her face. Rosalhva chuckles. "Oh yes, I have grown lots of herbs and I believe I know a weed from chamomile." Lyria smiles, "Well... then would you consider staying for a while?" Jaegon drinks down a mug of juice and watches the women. Rosalhva nods, relief and joy in her eyes. "Indeed, I will stay and thank you for your kindness." Lyria smiles and pulls a knot out of her pocket, "Here's some black and gold cord for you..." she grins a bit, "You just remember that tomorrow when you get my list of demands." She winks and then gets up with an exclamation, "Which reminds me, I left my list in the kitchen near the kindling." She dashes off. Lyria wanders into the Weyr's kitchens. Jaegon shakes his head, then smiles at you. "Welcome to Igen. I didn't catch your name..?" Rosalhva smiles. "I am Rosalhva. And you are....?" You say "Jaegon. I do all sorts of things around here." Jaegon grins at you. Gordeeva ambles out from the inner caverns. Rosalhva smiles. "Well, then I am certain it won't take long for us to get to know one another." Jaegon looks up. "Deva! All the littles asleep?" Jaegon nods to Rosa. "Rosalva, this is Gordeeva. She helps out with the smalls around here. Deva, this is Rosalhva. Lyria just hired her on to help with the herb gardens." Gordeeva steps in in her tiptoeing fashion and shyly looks around, blushing when a few riders make attempts to attract her attention. she smiles and waves back but doesn't got over, instead heading to a more trusted face. "Hello Jaegon...yes, all but one...and the headnanny is tending him...he has a bit of a cough. Hello, nice to meet you." she smiles warmly, offering her hand palm up to the other girl Rosalhva smiles and returns Deva's greeting. "It is lovely to meet you." Gordeeva motions to a chair near the other two. "May I join you?" she asks softly You say "Sure thing. Although I'll be retiring soon." Gordeeva wipes her hands on her long skirt and smiles at Jaegon, nodding her understanding. "You do look a bit tired." she says kindly, then turning to Rosalhva she asks. "Did you come from nearby?" Gordeeva blushes. "Forgive me if the question is intrusive...I don't mean to pry." Rosalhva smiles and shakes her head, her dark braid swishing slightly with the motion. "No, I originally came from the Southern Continent." Cathedra comes in from the Bowl. You say "I am tired. I was cleaning up after a flight again. Sharding heavy herdbeasts." Gordeeva beams. "Oh I've heard so many wonderful things about it down there...is it really always humid and warm and luch down there like they say?" Gordeeva waves to Cathedra in greeting, giving her a warm smile. Rosalhva nods. "It is all true, it is really beautiful there and nearly always warm." "G'evening," Cathedra calls out as she enters. Gordeeva pats Jaegon's hand like she would comfort one of her darling little ones and then promply stammers an apology. "I'm sorry...I forget myself sometimes." Jaegon grins boyishly. "I don't mind." Gordeeva looks down at her hands before looking up at Rosa. "I've never been very far from Igen...the hold I came from isn't too far from here." Jaela comes down the stairway. Rosalhva smiles a little softly. "I think perhaps I shall go find a place for myself, and rest. I have been out and about a long time today and it has wearied me a bit." Gordeeva dares a peek at Jaegon. Gordeeva nods and smiles warmly to the goldrider Rosalhva smiles again and then rises and heads off towards the inner caverns. You say "Rest well, Ros...oh!" You say "Wait a sec!" Gordeeva says "goodnight." she calls after her" Jaela makes her way quietly down from the balcony, twirling her empty klah mug on her finger. She waves her fingers to Jaegon and her friend, smiling before she heads over to the meal table to fill up her mug frmo the warm klah pitcher. Jaegon calls to the departing girl. Cathedra, freshly filled glass of water in hand, claims her seat. Rosalhva stops in her tracks and turns around startled. "Is something wrong, Jaegon?" You say "Just wanted you to meet someone. Mother! Come over a second?" Jaela smiles and walks over alongside Jaegon and pats his shoulder, "Yes dear?" Gordeeva reaches in her pocket and pulls out a small hairband, tugging her hair into a quick ponytail as she looks at Cathedra. "I hope this evening finds you well." she smiles. Rosalhva smiles and walks back over to Jaegon. You say "Rosalhva, I'd like you to meet Jaela, my mother and queen Ladonyth's rider. Mother, this is Rosalhva. Lydia just hired her on here to help out." He looks to Rosahlva. "If you have anything you need, and you can't find Lyria or someone else you know, you can ask Mother. She doesn't bite." Cathedra nods as she sips her water. "Well enough," she comments. "Tired, but well, thank you." Jaela combs her fingers through her strawberry blonde hair and then nods to Rosalhva with a gentle smile, "It's nise to meet you Rosalhva. And yes, my son does speak the truth on some things...you can come to me for anything you may need if Lyria's busy.....but I sometimes do bite--if I'm in a good mood." She winks at the girl and then sips frmo her klah mug. Rosalhva chuckles softly. "Well, I shall have to always stay just a armslength out of reach then." She smiles with genuine warmth in her eyes. "It is lovely to meet you, Jaela." Cathedra wanders into the Weyr's kitchens. Jaegon grins at his mother, who he looks lke quite a bit, when they stand side by side. "MOTH-er!" Then he smiles at Rosa. "Anyway. Go on and get sleep, but I thought you might want to meet one of thw weyrwomen. Jaela smiles as her eyes squint some, looking Rosalhva over, "Nice to meet you as well." She glances at her son and grins, "What?" Jaegon pokes Jaela in the side. "Don't scare the poor girl, she just got here." Gordeeva hides a smile behind her hand as she listens quietly from where she sits. Ayla curls her legs under, watching. Chuckling quietly, she manages a weak oof when a pair of 4 Turn old twins come racing at her at full speed. Jaela smiles at Jaegon, patting his arm affectionately, "She looks pretty cute." Ayla snickers quietly, peering over to Jaela, "You aren't playing match maker are you?" Jaegon rolls his eyes. "You could be a bit more subtle, you know." Gordeeva loses a bit of her smile and looks away, time to mind her own business. Gordeeva stands and wanders over the weyr entrance. Jaela puts a hand to her chest and looks at Ayla with a shocked smile, "Me?" Gordeeva senses "Jaegon takes the teasing in good sport, but.." You say "I think Mother wants grandchildren." Gordeeva blinks at that bluntness that can't help but be overheard, and hides another pretty smile behind that hand. "After all Jaegon isn't a young spring .... what's the word, dragon anymore!" Ayla teases lightly, gathering her twins into her lap, "Ack, you pair are getting heavier with each day passing!" Ladov blinkblinks as his younger sister, Veyla, giggles softly. Jaela smiles over at Gordeeva and then at Jaegon and says softly, "What about her? She's cute too." You say "You're right, Ayla. I'm virtually in my dotage." Gordeeva smiles and clasps her hands together as she looks at Ayla. "Would you like an extra pair of hand to help you Ayla? She offers Jaegon looks at Deeva and whispers He mutters to Jaela, "... She's... all..." Jaela senses "Jaegon looks at Deeva and whispers "Mother, please. She's special, all right?"" Gordeeva blinks at Jaela and opens her mouth, then shuts it again, her cheeks redden a great deal Gordeeva busies herself with helping Ayla, if she wants it. Jaegon goes equally red suddenly, as he realizes he's said way too much. Ayla turns to Gordeeva and nods, chuckling. Gently she sends Veyla toddling over the other woman. Once over, the young girl smiles shyly up to the woman, "Uhm... hi." Jaela ahhs to herself and nods to Jaegon, stifling a grin behind her klah mug. Ayla peers over to Jaegon and chuckles quietly. Rosalhva blushes deeply and is somewhat speechless at the comments flying about. Gwyndelone comes in from the Bowl. Jaegon quickly drinks the rest of his juice. He hasn't lost it on this grand a scale since he was seventeen. Gordeeva smiles at the little one and offers to hold her on her lap. "Hello...remember me from the nursery? I'm Deeva." she smiles warmly, her earlier embarrasment still brightening her cheeks Gwyndelone walks in, stifling a yawn. She nods to everyone as she passes on her weay top the inner caverns. Gordeeva smiles and waves to the passing Gwendelone Jaegon waves to Gwyn. Jaela makes her way over to find a seat, resting her elbows atop the table. Jaela sits down at the table by the hearth. Jaegon pours more juice. Rosalhva pours herself a cup of klah and sipping on it she takes a seat. She has decided there is far too much excitement within her at finding a new home to possibly get any rest just now. Gordeeva smiles at Veyla. "So are you momma's helper now?" Veyla bobbobs her head, smiling timidly, "Uh-huh." Gordeeva laughs and begins to plait the little ones hair into Braids. "You have such pretty hair. " she compliments, distracting the toddler long enough to give her mother a wee bit of rest. Jaegon shakes his head and sits down with Rosa, watching the toddlers up way past time. Cortland ambles out from the inner caverns. Rosalhva smiles at Jaegon. "So I take it from your earlier comment that you tend the herbgarden here?" Ayla hold her son close to her, rocking the sleepy toddler gently in her arms. Jaegon says to no one in particular "Well. I'm going to bed soon. Anyone know if those starshowers will be still going tomorrow night?" He nods to Rosa. "I do sometimes." Gordeeva looks up and smiles at the Steward as he enters. Jaela smiles and tips her klah mug to Cortland from her seat as she takes another sip from it. Gordeeva smiles at Jaegon apologetically, the first she had looked at him since all that whispering. "Sorry I'm afraid I don't." Brenna ambles out from the inner caverns. Cortland stomps into the cavern, dragging a drudge by the collar. Muttering most unpleasant things, he shoves the drudge into the kitchen. That job done, the Steward dusts off his hands and slumps into his oversized chair in the corner. Ayla watches Brenna and Cortland enter, seeing this as a good time to take the kids to bed. Yup. Ayla strides through the passageway into the Inner Caverns. You say "I kind of hope so. It's interesting to watch." Brenna steps in, and spotting who she wants to see, she beams happily and moves to kiss him on the forehead. "Evening Love." Cortland brightens up immediately at the kiss. Gordeeva smiles to the assistant headwoman and hands Ayla her sleeping daughter as she leaves. Rosalhva looks around at all the people milling in and out of the room. She watches silently, her eyes glistening with warmth and happiness. Gordeeva smiles at Jaegon and nods her agreement to his statement, lowering her eyes to her hands. Brenna sits down beside her man with a happy smile. "Breland is finally sleeping." she says with a happy tired sort of smile. You say "Congratulations, Brenna." Gordeeva tuts softly. "I would be glad to help out Brenna...anytime you need it, please do ask. It's what I'm here for." Cortland snaps his fingers. Another drudge appears with a wineskin and a pair of mugs. "Ah. Good. I really must wonder where the energy goes." Brenna beams. "On the baby? Or just getting him to sleep?" she looks at one of the mugs. "I hope one is for me...I could really use a nice drink right now." she smiles and bats her eyes at Cortland. Brenna turns to Gordeeva and nods with a smile. "I'll be taking you up on that...no worries about that at all." Cortland fills the mugs. Holding one in each hand, he furrows his brow in concentration. "I do have a drinking problem. Two hands. One mouth." Grinning foolishly, he passes one to Brenna. Gordeeva nods and stands with a politely covered yawn. She smiles to Jaegon as she passes. "Have a good night. I hope you get to see your star shower tomorrow." Jaegon sighs and stands, then grins at Brenna. "Both, of course." He stretches hugely. "Rosahlva, I'll see you tomorrow." He gives Deva a warm smile, waves around, and jogs out to the dozing weyrling on elevator duty.
