HOME FIRES MISTS LIFEBLOOD SPOKES
The wheel of the year turns, and Vine hosts the other mages in a rite.
deemelody - Monday, March 29, 1999, 8:29 PM ------------------------------------------- Tree Circle(#8733RJUh) A small clearing in the grove, the pines cutting the wind and making it seem quiet and lonely. The ground is covered in moss and fallen leaves with grass growing in scattered patches, making it actually fairly comfortable to sit or lie on. Above, the canopy opens up to let moonlight or sunlight filter through, and gives a nice view of the stars or clouds. It's quiet here, the wind whispering through the trees almost... mournfully. Obvious exits: OutGregory saunters in; a slight flush colors his cheeks as he notes the area, and he clears his throat. Vine(#7665PUce) This woman is still young, seeming to be in her 20s, although life has brought laugh lines to her brown eyes and the corners of her mouth. She stands around a meter and two-thirds in height. Her build is lithe and wiry, giving her an aura of strength lying just under the surface. Her chestnut hair is thick and slightly wavy as it falls to her shoulder blades. She favors the colors green and brown in her dress. Currently, she's dressed for Ritual: deep brown robes with green slashes fall almost to the ground, bare feet poking out from underneath. Her dagger is strapped to her waist on a white woven cord. A silver chain holds a pendant; a second holds a small double-terminated rutilated quartz crystal. Vine calls you all to meet her at her apartment, just off campus. She gives good directions. It's not hard to find. Gregory arrives orderly, and politely enough. He's dressed as he always is. Iris arrives with Tracy. She is waddling because she is so big now. Tracy enters the clearing, making sure there is a clear path for Iris. Tonigth he's a lil more gothed out than normal Nicky wanders in....giving a relieved smile as he spots the gathering... "This was not the simplest place to find." Vine meets with everyone in the parking lot. She smiles, with a backpack on and a basket over one arm. Something in the basket smells REALLY good. Especially to Iris. Gregory looks just normal. Y'know. Like usual. He tilts a brow at the basket, and nods at Vine with a smile. Vine looks...oddly pretty. Like you're seeing *her* for the first time. Nicky looks like someone ready for a hike in the woods Tracy's makeup brings about a sligth change to his personality. He has an almost perpetual smirk like he's ready to unleash some dark joke Vine gives Tracy the "I-don't-buy-it" look. Iris sniffs delicately, and wanders a little closer to the basket, 'What's that?" she asks softly. You say, "The celebratory cake." Iris shows great interest in that, "Cake?" she asks softly, and soft, vivid blue eyes raise to regard Vine. Nicky chuckles... Tracy sticks his tounge out at Melody's look and grins at Nicky then at Gregory. Funny, though, as he tries so hard to look like the sardonic Goth that he stays so close and attentive to Iris Vine beckons to you and ducks back behind the theater. It's dark and quiet, classes already done for the night. Nicky says, "Tracy....you just can't carry that look." Iris turns and holds out her hand to Tracy, 'He can when I'm not around and ready to pop." she says softly. Tracy grins, "She's got a point" at least th emakeup hides his blush Nicky nods..."Maybe. Gregory shakes his head with a wry look, and smirks, shaking his head, "Nah, you're too in love with Iris to carry that well. Sorry." Vine almost disappears from view in her brown robe as she leaves the circle of light that is the parking lot. Iris steps a little closer to Tracy and looks into his eyes, "We need ta make up together an' scare 'em sometime." she winks at Tracy, and then turns to waddle after Vine with Tracy in tow. Tracy gently carresses Iris' hand and murmurs, "Love does have this way of making everything seem allright..." Nicky says, "Won't work. I'm a retired goth/" Tracy gets towed along Gregory walks along after Vine, a wry expression curving his lips as he heads into the darkness. Nicky takes up the rear...following the group. Vine leads you along what looks like a glorified rabbit trail, carefully holding back brush in the dark. Iris struggles along the path. Vine reaches out a hand here and there to help Iris along. Tracy remains close to Iris, helping hr when and where he is able as well Iris takes the help gratefully. She just might not make it without the help after all. Vine finally leads you into a perfect circle of trees. Gregory glances around the circle; as he looks, he clears his throat, and idly slips fingers through his hair, glancing around. Tracy takes Iris hand and closes his eyes, stretching as he enters the circle of trees, letting the place wash over him openly Nicky stoops to picks up a leaf, Iris's steps slow to a stop just inside the circle of trees, and she looks around slowly, studying the surroundings. Vine sets down the basket in the center and unslings her backpack, setting up candles on small rocks at the cardinal points. Nicky leans against a tree and watches. Vine kneels and sets up an alter, speaking in a quiet voice. A lovely goddess and a god with a sunburst behind his head take their place in the center. "When the Circle begins, move on deosil...clockwise. Everything is passed clockwise. When you turn your body, turn clockwise as well, even if it means you turn all the way around." Iris looks up at Tracy again, then turns her gaze once more to Vine, curiously. You say, "It's also called sunwise or rightwards, just so you know." Tracy smiles down at Iris and then turns his attention to the Ritual with abject facination in his eyes. Vine hands each of you a candle and slip of paper, and a piece of colored chalk. Iris takes the chalk, candle and paper, and asks very softly, "Nothin's gonna hurt my baby, right?" Gregory nods slightly; he tilts a brow watching, and accepts the candle, the paper, and the chalk. He glances around the circle of trees, then back to Vine. Vine looks up. "Nothing here will harm any here. That I swear. I wouldn't let you come if there was any risk." Tracy takes the items in hand, giving them a quick glance over as though making mental note of them Nicky nods slowly....listening carfully. Iris nods slightly and drops her gaze to study the objects in her hands. Vine draws her blade from her belt and holds it in her hands by the tang, not the hilt. She takes a deep breath and centers, then sets down the knife on the clean earth. She opens a bottle of oil and turns clockwise, moving toward Gregory. "Since you like Fire so much...would you stand at the south point, Gregory bani Shaea?" Nicky grins...."I'm glad i was not picked for fire. Would be harsh on the poor forest. Gregory's brow rises: he nods at Vine, slightly, and heads towarsd the southern portion, turning in the correct, deosil manner as he circles and circles the grove, standing in place. "I would be honored." Vine turns to Iris. "You bear the waters of life within you. Would you stand at the west?" Iris nods slightly, "Of course..." she follows after Gregory's example, moving the right direction, at her now usual waddle, over to the western point of the clearing. You say, "And Iris? If you need to sit down, do. It won't disrupt anything." She looks between Tracy and Nicky, finally saying "Nicky..I was going to say Tracy, but my gut says you for north and earth." Nicky nods slowly..."As you wish m'lady." With a serious air, he moves to the north point You say, "Tracy...if you would take the east point?" Iris nods slightly as she turns carefully, so as not to stumble. She smiles gratefully at Vine, "Thank you." She murmers, and she does sink down on a boulder there, hands holding the things she was given resting on top of her tummy. Tracy nods, the motion causing a few tresses to cover Tracy's green eye so that the blue one alone is visible. "Of course dear Sister." Duster fluttering slightly with the motion of his stride, Tracy seems to perch where he stands as he takes up his position, moving deosil as instructed. Vine moves to the point between north and east, spiraling around the altar to stand in front of Tracy. She anoints him in a pentacle with the oil in the bottle, murmuring "You are well come to the Circle. Blessings be upon you, and merry meet." Vine kisses Tracy on each cheek, then moves to Greg, repeating the blessing, anointing and kiss. Iris recieves the same treatment, with an additional blessing on her belly. Nicky is anointed in his turn, blessed and kissed. Then Vine anoints herself, taking in a deep breath and releasing it. Iris shifts ever so slightly after Vine is past, though what the discomfort is is very unclear. Nicky is fine up till the kisses...but wills himself still. Vine returns to the altar, picks up her blade, cutting herself along her arm shallowly. The cuts well blood. She kneels and says "By my Power and Will, so is this Rite begun. Let all that is baneful and dark be gone from this place of peace and harmony. So do I Will, so May it Be." She spirals to the eastern point and walks a complete circuit outside the four of you, her blood driping into the soil. Nicky folds his arms over his chest and watches quietly, one brow spocked up in interest. Iris sits still, very still, and gazes at the ground as she listens to Vine's progress. Tracy holds the items he was given in hand. Tossing his head a little the blue eye is cleared of the tresses that obscurred it only to have the green revealed, making Tracy's one eyed curiosity rather like a raven peering upon the scene. As Vine walks, your senses tingle. Those with the right spheres can sense wards going up: Mind, Correspondance, Life, Forces... Vine returns to the center of the Circle. "The Circle is cast. On this night, when the Veil between the worlds is thin, we come together to honor our pasts and look to our futures." Nicky looks around...a slight frown on his face. Tracy closes his eyes and open them again, watching Vine with intense curiosity and interest. Gregory listens quietly. He doesn't speak or comment at the ritual, though it's quite obvious he's storing each moment away. Vine makes a circuit and lights each candle. As she does, she speaks. "We remember the beloved dead. We remember the things which shaped us and moved us. And we call the names of the future, blessing them. We celebrate the harvest of our lives." Iris sits very still, though breaths deeply and slowly. She looks across the circle to Tracy, silently, something flickering in the back of her eyes. Vine sits in the center of the Circle, beckoning you in. She takes a small cauldron from the basket. Tracy seems to note this, and recocnize it looking a little worried. He concentrates on the ceremony, breathing deeply and meditatively however... Gregory wanders in, as requested; he nods at Vine, waiting for her to give him more information. Tracy wanders in as well, ees still once and a while going to Iris. Vine lights a center candle and places it next to the cauldron. Nicky smiles...and watches Iris stands up awkwardly, and waddles toward the center as bid. Something is bothering her though, deep down. Galen slips an arm around Nicky's waist, listening to the goings on. Nicky brushes against Galen softly...keeping some contact. Vine's voice is low but sure. "In all of our lives there are cycles, beginnings and endings. If we do not celebrate the endings, the beginnings have less meaning. This is the night to celebrate the endings." Vine glances around. Galen looks..somehow deeply sad at the mention of endings. Iris is staring at her candle, and chews on her lip. Nicky drops a hand down to rest on Galen's shoulder. Tracy is as close to Iris as he is able to be, the paint on the raven-like figure's face keeps his emotions fairly unreadable but he looks solemn. You say, "It is tradition in my Coven to write down the things of the past that have ended, that we wish to let go and move on, and burn them. You have the tools to join me in that tradition if you wish." Nicky gets a slight smile...and then makes a thoughtfull sound. Galen leans his head on Nicky's hip, listening solemnly. You say, "Words have power." She glances at Gregory as she says that. "I will name what I choose to let go aloud. You don't have to do that if you don't wish. I will begin." Iris lifts her gaze to Tracy, searching his face for something. Gregory's brow rises: he nods slightly, and begins to write, slowly, onto the paper, listening quietly as he etches onto its surface. Vine writes several things down on the paper, keeping silence as she does so. Then she lights her candle from the central one. Her voice is a little unsteady as she murmurs "I'm trying to let you go again this year, love. Let's see if I can do it this time." She tears a strip of paper audibly and feeds it to the candle, placing the lit strip in the cauldron. Nicky breaks out of his thoughts....and starts to write. Tracy looks to Iris as he writes, the chalk etchinga against the paper with a scritching hiss. Nicky says softly..."Give it to the goddess to carry" Vine closes her eyes..crying? "Years go by and I still see your face. I miss you. I wish you hadn't Crossed. Come back to me." She draws in another deep breath. "Pride and anger. I need to let those go. For everyone's sake." Another rip. Another soft shussh Galen can hear as the flames take the paper. Galen begins to write, using his knee as a table. He writes and writes, new layers of chalk covering the previous. Tracy bites his lip, looking to Vine now with worry You say, "I've started my doctorate. Now I let my master's go. I thought about bringing it to feed to the flames.." now she's giggling "..but it'd have filled the cauldron, so." Iris slowly drops her gaze to the paper. She begins writing slowly as she listens to Vine. She can't get comfortable on her feet though. She keeps shifting and struggling to find a comfortable position to stand while she tries to write on the scrap of paper. Nicky is standing Vine burns the last scrap and looks at Tracy. Vine looks at Nicky, then. Nicky nods...and slowly tears a bit of paper away. "I have a great deal of insecurity and jealousy..i would like to let those go" Nicky drops the paper into to the fire, wtching it blaze up. "I will give those to the goddess to carry. Vine stands and offers her arm to Iris to lean on. Iris glances at Vine, and shakes her head slightly, waving her back to her place. Apparently she will not disrupt the ritual for Vine. She writes one more thing on the paper, and then closes her eyes, breathing deeply, her gaze once more going to one of the candles. Nicky takes the other half of the paper..and holds it over the fire..."I would also like to let go of my broken mind." He drops the last bit of paper into the fire and lets it burn. "I give that to the goddess to carry." he says softly, then looks to Vine, finished it seems. Galen lets Nicky make his peace with teh world, not adding any opinion to the things Nicky frees or distracting him. Vine smiles warmly at Nicky. "Galen?" she asks softly aloud. Galen runs his fingers over the paper, smearing the many layers of chalk. "I'd rather..not say what it is." he murmurs. Vine says quietly "Then let it go. You don't have to speak it." Galen says, "What do I do, just light it from the candle?" You say, "Nicky, guide his hand?" Nicky covers Galens hand gently with his...and aims the paper at the fire. "Here lover....drop it in here. Galen turns towards Nicky, letting himself be helped with the flame. Iris's eyes flutter open slowly and she watches Galen and Nicky. Her hands are trembling ever so slightly, herself. Galen drops the paper. "I give it to the goddess to carry." he murmurs, voice soft, apparently so it doesnt come out tense. Nicky purrs softly at Galen..and stoops to brush a light kiss into his hair. Vine looks at Tracy wordlessly. Galen runs his hand lightly over Nicky's lower back. He closes his eyes against the tears threatening to flow. Nicky threads his fingers intot eh wavys strands of Galen's hair and stokes him soothingly. Galen sighs and relaxes a little under Nicky's soothing touches. "Love you." he whispers so softly, trying to not disturb things. Tracy murmurs softly, "I have many things I wish to let go of. I may not cite them all. But first...I would like to let go of my Chantry's death. I have not had a real chance to mourn the passing of Arthur's Celestorim, the place where I trained, or the loss of my Mentor Dr. Erin Thorn. These endings were the beginning of my being here and so it is a mixed blessing...but I must let the endings go" he lowers the paper to the flame "I give it to the Goddess to carry" Vine nods slowly, apparently knowing about this. Tracy's voice is soft and only barely held in check and he watches the paper bur intently Iris lifts her gaze to Tracy, watching him. Tears pool in her eyes but they haven't fallen, not yet. Galen listens, quiet, more..spent than tense somehow, leaning against Nicky. Tracy murmurs, "I will let all the experiences with my Uncle go. It is behind me...I want to let it go" he shudders "I give it to the Goddess to carry" he lays that scrap on the fire to burn Nicky just keeps an arm lightly around Galen, quiet and respectfull. A tear does slide slowly down Iris' cheek with that from Tracy. She so wants to go to him. Tracy raises his chin with determination, closing his eyes and then opening them. He seems finished, trying to compose himself. Vine looks to Gregory. Gregory begins to tear the strip up. "This is for my old Word, newly created in a new form, here, in Asheville. Once purely a learner, now I am a mentor, and a protector, as well." The flame curls, and the strip of paper. "This is for misconceptions, shattered." He doesn't go farther into that one. "And finally, this is for ... a mistake. That has been mended. I hope." Unlike the others, he doesn't go into detail, though he speaks with a calm conviction. Vine is silent, watching the paper burn. Nicky contines to lightly stroke Galen's hair. Gregory is as well. He notes, "I do apologize for not voice more aloud, but some of that is not my secret to disclose." You say, "No apologies are needed in Circle. Iris?" Galen runs his palm lightly over Nicky's back, giving and recieving support. Tracy looks to Iris, warmly encouraging in his gentle eyes. Iris says nothing for a moment. She just watches the flames. Slowly she rips a piece of paper free, and as it falls into the caulderon she whispers, "Goodbye mother and father." There is another pause, and then hoarsely she says, "May the goddess hold you both close." Another slow rip and she holds the paper over the fire, "I must let go of the past, and the guilt. Though I have asked to be released of the burden in a past life, I must ask again. Though the situations are similar, there will be _no_ repeat. I give the goddess the guilt and regret." the paper flutters into the flames and she watches that one curl away to nothing more than ash before she even thinks of speaking again. Vine tilts her head, watching the paper burn. Galen listens to Iris, his expression touched with sympathy. Iris holds the last of the paper over the caulderon, and whispers faintly, "And this must I release as well. The fear of others. Of what they think, of what they might do to me. And all of the memories of the last few years that are linked to that fear." The paper falls into the caulderon and she lowers her arm limply, tears sliding silently down her cheeks. Iris's voice is no more than a faint whisper when she says, 'I give the goddes that as well." Nicky mmhmms softly Vine says softly "Through release, we are stronger. Through looking to the future, we grow. I name my hope for the future. I name it Learning. I name it Strength. May I grow strong and wise in the next year. Name your hope if you will." Tracy is atching Iris with warmth and love, exuding a silent empathy to his wife Vine glances at Nicky. Galen nods instinctively at Vine's words. Nicky says, "I would name it Peace." Vine murmurs "Galen?" when she senses Nicky is done. Galen says, "I would name it Healing." Vine looks to Tracy. Nicky gives Galen a softly puzzled look. Tracy says, "I would name it Love. I would name it Growth and family. I would name it unity." Galen misses Nicky's look. Of course. Vine smiles at Tracy warmly before looking to Gregory. Gregory speaks, quietly, "I would say committment. To ideals, to my past, my present, and my future. To both my learning, and perhaps, to myself as well. A friend taught me that." Vine watches the last coals die in the cauldron. You say, "Iris...?" Iris lifts her gaze to look at Tracy, though there are still tears in her eyes. She says quietly, "I name my future Family, Love, Trust and Support. I name dreams realized, and new courses of study." Vine says firmly "So may it be. I further bless the new life borne to two here. May she grow strong and well." Galen smiles softly at the blessing for the baby. Vine turns back the cloth on the basket, letting the lemony cake smell waft through the air. She breaks off a piece and puts it in the cauldron, then pours a little something from a second bottle onto it. Vine then breaks off pieces of the lemon cake and passes them around. "May you never feel hunger or emptiness." Nicky settles onto the ground beside Galen Galen leans his shoulder comfortably against Nicky's. He takes the lemony cake, but doesnt seem to know if he's supposed to eat it or what. Nicky dosen't seem to know either..so watches for a clue Vine murmurs to Galen "Taste it, if you don't like it, give it to the gods. Galen smiles a little, shyly embarrased but happy to be here anyways. Nicky finds that a good enough clue...and takes a nibble of the cake Galen nibbles at the cake, then takes a bigger bite. Made from scratch. Mix doesn't taste this good. Taking a slow bite, Gregory inclines his head, chewing in rather small, measured movements. Vine passes around the small bottle. "May you never have thirst or discomfort." Tracy tastes of the cake passed to him, closing is eyes in appreciation Nicky takes a sip ot the the liquid when it passes his way. Iris raises the cake and takes a bite, a delicate one, but she likes the cake, so takes another bite. She is still restless, having trouble standing so long. Milk. Again, good. Galen takes a delicate sip of the milk, sighing at the wholesome taste of it. Nicky chuckles softly.."I have strange kindergarden flashbacks. Gregory mms, "Never went, I'm afraid." he takes a slow sip. Tracy reachs over to Iris and gently runshis figers through her hair. He sips the milk as it is passed around and murmurs a soft "mmm" Vine stands quietly when everyone's had a chance to eat and drink. "We now close the place between the worlds. We who have been together walk separate roads, for now, yet remember what has passed here. And know that if that which you seek you find not within yourself, you will never find it without. May you always find that which you seek. This circle is closed." And the wards fall. Nicky says, "Stay if you will...go if you must." Iris tilts her head slightly into Tracy's touch, eyes drifting half shut. Vine smiles and claps out her candles. You say, "Iris?" Iris tilts her head to look at Vine, "Yes?" she whispers faintly. You say, "Sit down before you fall down. Brownie points for being brave and strong, negative brownie points for going past your endurance." Vine's tone is big-sisterish. Nicky chuckles..."That was refreshing" Galen smiles softly. "I feel good...less burdened." Vine says softly "Now...now, I don't feel like an outsider any more." Nicky draws Galen in closer..."You ok baby? Iris looks back at Tracy, and holds her hand out to him. Apparently she wants him to go with her to sit down. Galen smiles. "I'm fine, love." Tracy looks about for a plac for Iris to sit comfortably, "She has a point hon, you need to be ff your feet" Gregory watches quietly; he still doesn't speak, standing there as a hand rises to brush a lock from his brow. You say, "Hands and knees, do the back thing." Nicky says, "Welcome then Melody. As you probibly guessed...this is Galen" You say, "I guessed...I'm so glad to finally meet you." Iris says faintly, "I can't get up and down." Galen smiles towards the woman's voice. "Pleased to meet you." Nicky says, "Galen...this is Melody. She is tending to our non-rose plants for us." You say, "Do you want to know my face, Galen? If you want to feel.." Tracy says, "Honey, I'll help you..." Galen says, "Oh, she's the one making our garden room bloom. No..I dont need to see your face, Melody. I learn more through mannerisms and voice than touch." Iris draws Tracy closer, and maneuvers herself so that she can kiss him ever so delicately and tenderly. Nicky says with a slight smile warming his voice..."Oh..another thing Galen....your able to speak freely here. Vine begins to clean up the ritual tools. "Any husband of Nicky's is a friend of mine," she teases. "Gregory, would you get the candles?" Galen smiles softly back. "That in and of itself is a relief." Nicky says, "I thought it might be love..." Gregory nods, quietly; he circles slowly, picking up the candles with a nod to Vine. Tracy warmly kisses Iris, slipping as close as he can to her while at the same time supporting her as much as she lets him. Vine packs things away. "Oh, who wants the rest of this cake? It's consecrated, it has to be eaten or buried." Iris actually lets Tracy support her as much as he wants. Her back and feet are aching something fierce. She can use the relief. Galen says, "I could eat a little bit more..not much though." Vine puts a two-finger sized piece into Galen's hand. Nicky rests his chin on Galens shoulder and looks rather content with life. Galen smiles and nibbles at the seconds of cake. You say, "Tracy? Iris?" Tracy gently showers little kisses upon Iris' face then turns to Melody, "I can eat some more Sis" You say, "How much? A full piece or..?" Nicky says, "Its been a long time since i did something like this." Tracy says, "I can eat a full piece." he grins "I'll work it off in a climb later" You say, "Oh like you need to work anything off." A full piece gets deposited in his hand. "I mean, really, Tracy. Iris? Want any? Greg? Nicky?" Gregory shakes his head; he murmurs, "No thank you." Iris shakes her head slightly, and says faintly, "I need off my feet..." She presses her hand in the small of her back, and just doesn't seem interested in eating, no matter how good it smells. Nicky says, "I think thats your cue to go Tracy" Vine stops and looooooks at Iris. "Are you getting contractions?" Tracy sticks his tounge out, still supporting Iris with one arm "But it'll kill my waistline" he nods to Iris, "Allright sweety, let's get you home.." he takes a bite of th ecake in hand You say, "Can you find your way back without help?" Galen says, "Take care, you two...are you driving or walking?" Iris glances at Vine, "Not steady. One here and there. I'm fine. Just...." She takes a step, but clearly her back is hurting something fierce. Tracy says, "I've come here a couple times since youbrought me, we should be allright Sis." he frowns, "I'll be calling a cab, she's not going to be able to take the walk" Nicky says, "You need a back rub and a ride home Iris?" Vine reaches in the basket, pulls out some keys, and tosses them to Tracy. "Take my car." Gregory nods, "Aye. I'll help clean up if you like?" Tracy catches the keys smoothly, "Umm...thanks sis, but I have not got my liscence yet and while I know the theory behind driving I've never done more than pull cars in and out of the garage..." You say, "It's almost midnight. Go slow, and you'll be fine. It's an automatic." Galen listens quitely as people figure out who's driving who. Iris gives Nicky a gentle smile, "Tracy's got the backrub thing down. Just gotta get home." Tracy nods, "Allright..." he smiles warmly, "Thankyou." You say, "Go, scoot home before the kid wakes up and starts doing the hula." Nicky says, "Well...since there is no need for us..." Galen turns to Nicky. "Hmm?" Nicky says, "Ready to head home angel?" Tracy gently supports Iris and leads her out Vine finishes putting the tools away. "I guess I can eat the rest of this myself. Thanks for coming, all of you. I needed this." Gregory nods; he inclines his head at Vine, "It was an honor>" Iris leans against Tracy heavily and says to Vine, "You're welcome." She needs Tracy's support. She's about reached her limit. Galen says, "Home would be fine. Melody? Thank you, very much. This was very...cleansing." Nicky says, "Do _you_ need a ride home Melody?" You say, "Nah, I'm real near campus. I can walk no problem." Nicky says, "Alright....just be careful." You say, "I will. Trust me." Galen moves to his feet, hauling Nicky up beside him.
