After Tracy's dream of Greg and Iris together, he comes to see Mel..
melody - Thursday, April 15, 1999, 9:31 AM ------------------------------------------ Tracy knocks upon the door softly Melody calls "Come on in!" Tracy steps in, his black leather duster trailing like tangible shadow and his footsteps soft. Melody has her hair all pulled back from her face and is deepcleaning the kitchen. "Hey!" she greets. Tracy smiles warmly and murmurs, "The dmosticated Melody in her natural environment. Note the modifications to her mane as she dances the ritual of house cleaning." Melody sits up on her heels and grins at you. "This floor..I've been meaning to deepscrub it, but the end of the semester just kept me busy. Now I can give it what it deserves!" Tracy shakes his head, his silken mane shimmering with the motion as it catches light and refracts it along the earthen surface "You say that with far too much glee my dear sister." You say, "What? It's a perfectly good floor, it doesn't deserve to have ingrained dirt." Melody dunks the brush. You notice she's using plain water, no cleanser scent. Tracy chuckles softly to himself, "If you start whistling while you work, I'm going to have a gag reflex" You say, "I'll pass, thanks. Want anything to drink?" Tracy murmurs, "As long as it is no trouble..." You say, "Whatcha want? Milk, tea...I don't have soft drinks.." Melody gets to her feet carefully, so as not to slip on the wet floor. Tracy says, "I rarely drink soft drinks. Milk would be nice...need any help here?" You say, "Nah. It feels good to get into things...realer." She pours milk. "Someone once told me I'd have made a great Cultist. I like to feel things." Tracy smirks, "A Cultist huh? I don't know..." he gestures with a delicate hand, "You do not seem quite enough out of your gourd to be a Cultist sis" he grins You say, "Not all of them are nuts. Just most." Tracy smirks, "Ahhh, I stand corrected" There's a light tapping, a gentle rapping, upon the chamber door. Quoath the Tracy, "Nevermore" Melody laughs. "S'OPEN!" she calls, handing Tracy his milk. Tracy takes his milk, having been about to check the door. "Thanks sis" he murmurs softly The door opens, and Gregory walks in, "I hope I'm not interrupting...?" He trails off, slipping hands through his hair. Melody has apparently been cleaning, feet bare, hair pulled back from her face, bucket of water on the kitchen floor. A brow rises, and Gregory inclines his head at Melody, offering her, then Tracy a smile, "Hello..." He trails off. Tracy says, "Oh no, Gregory" Tracy sneers "Just came in on the middle of a milk taste testing contest. Now is this Homogenized or Fresh?"" Gregory's brow rises at Tracy, and he murmurs, "I wouldn't know." Tracy sips the milk, savoring it a moment. "It is definitley milk" Melody chuckles. "You two." Is there a hint of nerves as she glances between you? "How's it going, Greg?" "Well enough." A brow rises, Gregory sensing the tension, and he slips a hand through his hair, "Well enough, I suppose. How're you doing, Melody?" You say, "Enjoying the winter break." Tracy concentrates on his milk for the moment. He watches everything perhipherally as he does "Ahh. All right." Gregory nods, slowly, sensing the slight tension, and not understanding it, so he ignores it. "I'm sure that'll be nice." Melody kneels back down and starts scrubbing again as she talks. "We met a nice guy with Nicky the other night..a photographer." "Oh really?" A look of curiousity, "That's nice. That would be the one who took your picture with the baby, Tracy?" Gregory asks this curiously. Tracy nods as he gravitates towards a seat. "Yes. He took a shot of Lilly and I as we came through the door of the Library." "Ahhh. That's nice." Gregory nods, "I remember you showing that to Iris." He glances down at Melody, then back up. You say, "I hope Nicky hires him." "Oh?" A look of curiousity, glancing down towards Melody. Melody nods. "He seemed nice enough." Dunks the brush and scrubs. "Besides, he knew a cute baby when he saw one." She grins at Tracy. Gregory chuckles, softly; he murmurs, "That's something I can agree with, truely." Tracy smiles deeply, "Certainly cannot fault the man's taste in choosing babies to photograph. My Lilly has all of her mother's beauty." Gregory laughs softly; he nods, "I can agree with that as well." He smiles, droll, then inclines his head to Tracy. You say, "Except for her daddy's pretty eyes." Tracy gives Gregory a respectful nod in return. He then chuckles, "She makes them look far better than I." Gregory nods, and then grins wryly, "Now now..." He shrugs, and glances from Tracy to Melody, and back again. You say, "Oh, c'mon, Tracy, take a compliment for once." Tracy smirks, and lowers his eyes to his milk. He then asks, "You begin formally teaching Iris soon, do you not Gregory?" Gregory nods at Tracy, "Aye...when the Quaesitori arrives. Why?" Tracy shrugs, "Just wondering really. She needs training afterall" he says respectfully. Melody keeps her mouth shut and scrubs. Gregory nods, slightly; he murmurs, "Aye, that she does. I was honored she made the decision she did. Was careful to not push her in one direction, just tried to show options." Melody sighs a little. "Yeah. You had a past life on your side." Tracy nods fractionally "As did I. Technology is not very appealing to her, but I told her of as many Traditions as I could and what their basic mission statements were. I'm glad she's found a home for her musical talent." "Past life on my side?" A brow rises towards Melody quizzically before nodding at Tracy, and chuckles, "I daresay I'll learn a thing or two in the process, myself." Melody shrugs. "She had a bad experience as a Verbena." Scrub scrub dunk. Gregory ahhs; he nods, "I see. That's too bad." His lips twitch, "I think I had one with a Hermetic once, not sure." You say, "I don't remember any that were that bad." Tracy says, "She and I have lived many lives. Including one as Hermetics. Quite a bond betweeen Master and Apprentice. She's going to have to learn several languages at once, isn't she?"" Gregory hmms? He nods, "Aye. Enochian being the main one, but others most likely as well." Gregory inclines his head at Tracy. Tracy is still, of course, intent upon his milk. He murmurs "That is going to take alot of time." Gregory hmms? He nods, "To an extent, yes, I suppose." He shrugs, lightly, "It's important to get her a proper grounding, so she can experiment on her own." Tracy nods, "How much of that will be time away? She's also got college coming up, and signing lessons..." Gregory mms; he mulls, "Not sure. I'm not sure she'll be able to handle college and studies. Signing lessons easily, but as for the other...it's somewhat time consuming." Tracy nods, "Well I wil be, of course, takig care of Lilly whenever she cannot. I imagine her studies under yu willbe private..." Gregory hmms? "Not all of them. Mostly the Enochian. Other than that, you're quite welcome to sit in if you like. I'm not as strict as some, my mater wasn't, either." Melody stands carefully, trying not to slip, and dumps her bucket in the sink. Tracy nods, "Oh, I see. Well that is good to hear." Tracu runs his fingers through his hair, "I must...thank you, Gregory. Iris can take care of herself, but I worry about her being alone with Bodhi as well as he seems...wrong." Gregory nods slightly; he mulls, "I would agree. Mostly 'cause if the Delirium does house vampires, and he runs the security, it makes sense he's involved. Stories at least, say they can control minds. I'd rather be paranoid than not. I was keeping an eye on her." You say, "Bodhi? Have I met this guy?" Melody starts cleaning her sink. Tracy says, "And, of course, I had to take care of Lilly, so could not go to the Delerium with a baby in arms. Not for her sake." Tracy finally, gasp, and for once meets Gregory's eyes, his deep green and blue gaze unfaltering "Paranoia is part of what keeps us alive and our loved ones secure, would you not aggree Gregory?"" Melody's shoulders tighten. Gregory's brow rises slightly; he mulls, "To an extent. It depends on the extent, and the reasoning, I think." He smiles, wryly, "You can rest assured if someone attempts to harm her, they will meet with unpleasant... circumstances." He shrugs, lightly, and offers a smile. Tracy smiles, rather disturbingly in the way only a person who has seen the full hell of true desperate combat can manage. "Indeed. She can take care of herself, but none of us stand without our loved ones." Gregory's brow rises, and he nods, shrugging, "True enough." Melody says rather too loudly "Greg, you want something to drink? Tracy? Milk refill?" Gregory smiles at Melody, "I'd like some water, thank you." He offers Melody a warm smile. Tracy murmurs softly, "Yes, dear sister, I would like a bit more since you are offering. Thankyou" Melody pours both milk and water, bringing them out to you both. She lights a candle or three. Gregory smiles at Melody; he murmurs, "Thank you, Melody." You say, "Welcome." Melody also sets some incense burning. Tracy murmurs softly, "Thankyou Melody" Letting the silence stretch, Gregory takes a slow sip, watching. Melody grins. "No problem. Enya, anyone?" Gregory clears his throat, "Ah...if you like?" Tracy sips his milk and offers in a voice like the wind carressing distant treetops "Enya is nice. I wonder how different they are here." Melody sets the CD going..her first album, the mostly instrumental one. "There. I think the place feels..cleaner now. How different who is?" Tracy says, "Enya..." You say, "She's a she here, hon, not a they." "I...have never heard her?" Gregory shrugs, lightly, and glances at Melody, "Cleaner how?" Tracy says, "Oh...she had two others with her where I come from." Tracy tilts his head, "And their tone was darrker than this...more like a dischordance made smooth..."" Melody shrugs. "It felt a little worn, before, but I hadn't had time to do a real clensing." She nods to Tracy. "You'll like this then." Gregory just listens; he's got no clue, here, so crosses his arms after setting down his glass, and leans against the wall. Tracy listens to the music, his eyes drifting shut as he finishes off his second glass of milk. Almost perched where he sits, his eyes shutting combined with the cafe-au-lait of his skin and the rich brown of his hair makes him look almost like an angellic sort of gargoyle sculpted of raw earth and decored with black leather and silver Melody sits down in Greg's lap, as if it's habitual. "So, what cute stuff has Lilly done today?" Gregory's cheeks flush rather brightly as Melody sits on his lap. He looks up at Tracy, then back at her. And just cannot say a word. Tracy mmms, "First cute thing Lilly did today was be herself" He opens his eyes and outright smirks at seeing Mel in Gregory's lap, just shaking his head. "Sir, it looks like you have a female intruder, but from the flush response I'd say you have your security problems well in hand." Melody grins at Tracy. "You're silly, you know that?" Gregory coughs; he considers, then sighs and slips an arm around Melody's waist. He gives up. She wins. Of course she does. She's a Verbena against a mere Hermetic. She leans back into the hug. You note, though, that her shoulders still look awful tight. Tracy murmurs, "Am I silly?" he grins, "Oh sis, how could you think -I- am silly?" Gregory murmurs, "I think I'm the silly one here." As he speaks, he tickles Melody's belly. Hey. Can't beat 'em, join 'em. You say, "Gee, I dunno. Negapsychic?" She grins. "I can't wait till Lilly startsrolling over. Better yet, till she starts getting in drawers. 'Daaaaady? Is bwoken!' ACK!"" Melody grabs Greg's hands. Gregory is stopped. Tracy grins hugely, "All of the apparatus she needs to not get her hands on is already locked in high places or in one or the other of my Sanctums." You say, "Uh huh. Until the first time you forget." Gregory chuckles, "My things don't attract kids." Except the statues. Isis might take a liking to a baby. Tracy smirks, "Which WILL happen." he looks pensive "What I worry about is that she may find something of mine around as she starts to grow in her own awareness that will make her awaken before she is truely capable of controlling herself." You say, "Don't worry, hon. She has people all around to help her." Gregory nods slightly; he murmurs, "We all will." Tracy sighs "I know, but it would still be best if she does not awaken until she can understand that the Illusion of Reality can be just as important as the Reality it is." You say, "Don't fret, OK?" Gregory glances at his watch; he comments, "I have to go, I'm afraid. If you all will excuse me?" Melody slides out of Greg's lap somewhat reluctantly. "Come by later?" Gregory nods at Melody; he smiles, "Sure." Tracy murmurs softly, "I should be getting back home soon too. I dislike being away from my family too long" Gregory departs the apartment, for the hallway. Melody goes over to you and wraps you in a huge hug. Tracy hugs you warmly in return, gently pressing you close. He squeezes you lighty and kisses your cheek. Melody whispers "Tracy...do me a favor?" Tracy murmurs, "Yes sis?" You say, "If...if you think I'm in trouble...tell me?" Tracy murmurs, "I will hon...just be careful." You say, "You don't feel any better, do you?" Tracy says, "A little, at least for now." Melody nods, reassured. "Go cuddle a baby and think warmfuzzy thoughts. Want to borrow the CD?" Tracy shake shis head, "No, that's allright. You take care, I may be back around later" You say, "I'd like that." Tracy steps away gently rubbing your arm. He smiles a bit, "Take care dear sister." Melody hugs you and lets you go.
