The Beginning of the End

sometimes it snows in april..all good things they say never last

-Prince

Gina is collecting reeds from along the fence.

D'orn glances over towards Gina and waves. "Gina lass!" he calls happily.

Gina looks up and smiles, waving. She picks a final slender stem, then
brings herself and her basket of reeds over.

D'orn rests his hands on your shoulders and leans over to place a kiss on
your cheak. "How goes it lass?"

Gina tilts her head up to yours and kisses gently on your cheek, face
coloring slightly. "It goes all right. Da and I are still at odds over my
staying."

D'orn nods a bit. "I haven't spoken with my da before the hatching lass,
I know how that goes...Reed pickin are ye? What for?"

You say "Oh, for more baskets. Sh'pen asked me to make him one to help
keep his weyr clean, and it'll be a large one."

D'orn grins slightly. "You and Sh'pen eh?" he says in a droll tone,
trying to act jealous.

Gina blinks and swats your shoulder. "D'orn! He's all but moldy, he's so
old!" She grins at you.

D'orn wrinkles his nose and grins mischeviously. "Well! You -said- he
asked you to help keep his weyr clean...:

Gina beeps your nose. "Help, not tend it. Silly bronzerider."

Madalyn walks out of the Weyrling Barracks to the north.

Vyth emerges through cavernous opening of the Weyrling Barracks.

D'orn smorts softly at Gina and reaches his hands over to tickler her
sides but halts upon seeing Madalyn. He raises his hands and salutes.
"Hello!"

"'Member dear, we're -- or /I/ -- am s'posed to salute." Returning
D'orn's salute with an enthusiastic flip of her wrist, Madalyn's
half-skipped entrance is nearly tumbled over by Vyth's awkward waddle.
"And no sand today, you 'member what happened last time.." Smile traces
over to Gina, widening instantly. "Gina, heya!"

Kalameth emerges through cavernous opening of the Weyrling Barracks.

You say "Heya, Lynna! How are you?"

Vyth moves -- somewhat awkwardly -- towards her lifemate, tapered muzzle
swung wide towards Gina. Inquisitively, the diminuative dragonet sniffs
at the girl's tunic, puzzled look given to her lifemate. "Good.." Madalyn
chuckles, head shaken with a cheerful smile. "Vyth thinks you smell
lovely..."

Gina smiles. "Do you like it? Tirra and I both wear it." She looks up
into Vyth's greenly whirling eyes. "Good afternoon, Vyth! You're getting
big too!"

Kalameth thumps out of the barracks, swinging his head around towards
Gina, Madalyn and then to Vyth with a gentle croon. "Flirt" D'orn mumbles
as he sits down on the ground, working on fixinf a broken knot.

Gina chuckles softly and stretches out a hand to the much bigger
Kalameth. "Come on, Kala, get your petting in."

Kalameth whuffles and swings his head down to Gina's touch.

Giving Gina a 'Do you think so?' type of look, the slender length of
Vyth's tail coils forth to give the girl's leg a slight tap. "Easy dear,
'member what happened the last time you did that?" Brows raise, watching
Kalameth's flirtacious attitude; Vyth, enjoying the attention, simply
rests onto her haunches, preening at it's best.

Gina gives Kalameth's muzzle a god scriching, leaning her head against
it. "You are a flirt though. She's too young for you, Kala." She winks at
Vyth. "And yes, you are bigger. Just don't trip me, please."

D'orn snorts softly and watches the others as he fiddles with the blased
knot. Finally he finishes it and tucks it inside his pocket. "Done" he
murmurs, turning to watch Kalameth, who's all but flopped down on the
ground, two eyelids closed lazily at the wonderful scritching. "I just
don know what I'm gonna do with him, he's gonna be terrible when he's
older. Flirting wise that is."

Gina mutters to Kalameth, "You'll... and he'll... used to..."
You whisper "You'll be beautiful and he'll get used to it." to Kalameth.

"Vyth'll be just as bad, I think." Smirk curling the corners of her lips,
Lyn watches her lifemate's blissful look wander to Gina; muzzle extends
forth for the same type of scritch given to Kalameth, her explaination
given through Ly'n's chuckling voice. "Vyth says she should get the same
scritches that Kalameth gets, since she's a green.."

Kalameth snorts and flicks his tongue over Gina's cheak gently.

Gina chuckles and ends up scritching the bronze with one hand and Vyth
with the other. "There, is that better? You two."

Pure, invoilate bliss; or so that's what Vyth relays to her rider. "Ah,
she does like that!" Madalyn chuckles.

Vyth(#6667OVeps$)
Like the finest of silken veils, yellow-green drapes this small beauty in
an even-toned shade from the tip of her narrow muzzle through the bellied
roundness of her body and the slender length of her tail. Diminuative
limbs oft to give her an uncoordinated balance, the purity of her
coloring evidences brightly against volcano's obsidian like the discovery
of a pale mineral entrapped amid a dark rock. Viridian veins web across
the thin sails of gossamer wings, and a finely-sculpted neck and wideset,
large eyes show this dragonet off as the beauty she'll become,
full-grown.

You say "You know, you're growing into the promise you had as a
hatchling, Vyth. I thik you'll be very fast and daring in the air."

D'orn smiles and watches Gina for a moment with sparkling green eyes
before turning to Kalameth, and shaking his head. "No" he murmurs.

Gina catches D'orn's movement, but doesn't hear his murmur. "What's he
saying, D'orn?"

"She tries to live up to that promise everyday -- infact, it's a
/constant/ reminder." One that Lyn is tortured -- more like teased --
with every breathing moment. Pine eyes flicker adoringly to her lifemate,
who is suddenly distracted by a firelizard above.

D'orn snorts softly and blinks at Gina. "Oh nothin nothin, just talkin
bout heart related matters is all."

Gina doesn't pry. "That makes sense. Whoops. You're growing out of your
skin over here, Kala dear. It's working on being flaky."

Kalameth croons softly, swings his head around to eye the spot, and
immediately begins whimpering at D'orn to fix it.

Madalyn goes into Lyn and Vyth's Couch.

Vyth goes into Lyn and Vyth's Couch.

Gina gasps and loses her balance the quake, falling to her knees.

D'orn catches you in his arms, staring into your eyes for the most
intense moment.

Gina whispers softly "THis is hard for me..." as she looks up at you.
She's letting you support her slight weight.

D'orn blinks and leans down to place a soft kiss on your lips. "What's
hard lass. Tell me about it."

Gina shivers and kisses you back, trying to keep it from being as hungry
as her pounding heart hopes for. "Staying away, until he's ready. Going
to sleep every night in a dorm. Without you."

D'orn blushes softly and looks away for a moment. "Aye, I know how hard
tha can be...but, I must be honest with ye Gina, lass. We've not seen
each other much over the past few months an well, me head is all
confused."

Gina blnks and steps back. "What?"

D'orn sighs. "My heart is torn. It's just, I'm utterly confused, I don't
know what to do or who to love. Me heads been spinnin since Kala came
into me world."

Gina listens, the expression on her face fading to numbness. "Well, that
was to be expected, I guess."

D'orn looks back to you and steps close. "Dinna think I'm setting you
aside, I'm not. I just need time ta think about things, time ta adjust."

Kalameth senses "Gina's feelings are so loud you can hear them:
rejection, loss, hurt. Stronger than you may have ever felt at your young
age."

You say "Of..course. I understand."

Kalameth snorts, and lowers his head towards Gina's side, nudging her
gently.

D'orn blinks. "Dinna feel that way!" he cries, sitting down to the sand,
slamming his hands in the sand out of frustration.

Gina blinks and looks at the bronze, then back to you, confused. "You
don't know how I feel." She pets Kal's muzzle, reflexively, thinking it
must be the itch that's bothering him.

D'orn nods. "O course I do...Kalameth felt it, an then I felt it..." he
murmurs gently. Kalameth croons towards Gina and whuffles her hair
repeatedly with big breaths.

Gina blushes hotly, and says softly "I'm sorry, Kalameth. I didn't mean
to upset you..." Either of you. She pats up as far as she can reach. Then
she sighs. "Maybe I should just have gone back to the Hold, but I thought
this might work."
